    plz help..........

  • tre trousand trertereteen mb??????????

    wtf did you say

  • How effective is this? Does the system access USB flash drive faster than HDD? If not, then swap space is still faster than this.

  • When ever i try yo eject it says currentley in use what the hell

  • what happens if you pull the usb out while its on

  • tree-thousand

  • when i look at the computer properties, still i've onli 1gb ram. even i set the flashdrive as my ram. i followd evry step still didnt work. help pls

  • @fuge805 ok.. what do you prefer, ready boost or configuring your fd as vram?..

  • @erizef i do mostly vram but i do 200-300 mb for readyboost

  • @fuge805 is it ok if i use 2 fd's simultaneously? one for RAM on the other on ready boost?.. sorry for bugging you..

  • @erizef its ok girlfriend is with family, i never tried that honestly if i can find a spare i willtry and tell you

  • @erizef

its not the ram increasing the virtual memory is in creasing

  • i subbed you!

  • hey thanks!! I have a windows xp desktop that I will try this on. It is fricken slow!!

  • Thanks man.

  • its not working U FREAKIN RETARD! and u say restart ur computer! i went oh!!!!!!!!! Im srry!

  • @tristconroytv ok go to start right click on computer> advanced system settings (at top left) then you are there preatty much

  • @tristconroytv well i wouldnt recomend doing this unless the thumb drive has more G than your ram

  • thanks guy, my netbooks Hd was always going and it was slow but now it's actually good for browsing. I have only 1 gig of ram so this has made a big difference!

  • @MrPyrotech96 yes you can if you put them into a hub and then plug er in. Some people even make flash drives to replace the hd with a bunch of cheap flash sticks, check out makemagazine here on youtube they show you how

  • lol trini

  • my computer is 6gb ram but in a game called "Minecraft" the FPS or frames per second is equivelent to my friend's 1gb ram computer plz PM me i need help

  • thx im gonna try it!

  • when i restart my comp. i get a black screen with a blinking line. i do not know what to do. please help ive been waiting for hours. i did exactly as you said in the video.

  • The difference between this guy and the regular 13 year olds on the internet , isis that this guy actually knows what he is talking about . Good video , and yes i know its 2 years old .

  • Tree chousand tree hundred and chirty

  • @soulabari thats not rapist souning at all

  • If you can set the pagefile on your computer to 10000 then you are sir using 64-bit version XP.

  • There's no point in doing this. You're more likely to slow your system down than speed it up, because USB Flash drives have much slower data transfer rates than normal hard drives. And they're not designed for constant read/writes so they would be likely to fail quickly in this setup.

  • @paulph12002 actualy it depends on how old your computer is if the ram on your computer is older than the flash drives 2day the flashdrive will be faster than your normal ram drive if your computer and ram is new your computer will slow down. but it is true your flashdrive is not designed for constant read/writes so your flash drive will die soon.

  • I enjoy how people are trying to do this in an effort to not upgrade their computer.

  • this is one of the stupidest things you xould do!!! use a fixed disk to increase your virtual memory (paging file, NOT RAM) why on earth would you wanna use a USB device for something a harddrive can do..... get a clue

  • how to check if it worked or not ?

  • This aint A ram Its A Paging file setting......it will cause ur system to work even slower....

  • hey man , how can i do this on windows 7 ?

  • Are you from the Caribbean, cause you say words like my granny

  • VIRTUAL MEMORY IS NOT RAM. What an idiot.

  • @MINICLIPGAMER Well, in his case you're only partially right or even possibly wrong...He shouldn't say to use flash drives as RAM, but to use it nearly like RAM. However, the key is that RAM cards are a type of solid-state chips, which are what flash drives are also. Virtual RAM will use the free space on the drives you choose to use to load/unload the "paging" files, which can help like having a real physical RAM extension when you use solid-state chips just like RAM instead of slow hard disks.

  • Comment removed

  • @hsq91 But, also, I don't think common flash drives have fully what it takes to transfer temporary data in a very lightning-fast manner as RAM cards do, in that it can be considered as a true RAM extension. (Also consider the fact that it has to face the overhead of virtualization by the OS.) So, the point is, SSTechify's idea of using flash drives instead of regular hard disks for VRAM is not at all "idiotic," but rather more meaningful than MINICLIPGAMER's careless comment..

  • @hsq91 Don't tell me what I already know. Virtual memory is not RAM. RAM is TEMPORARY STORAGE.

  • @MINICLIPGAMER Sigh. After all those explanations, you still don't get the point even a bit. I said, you're only partially right relative to the video's case. You're right in the strictest definition, but you don't quite get the whole concept--it's called virtual for a reason. Virtual memory is not physically equal to RAM, but it can help in easing the duties of the physical RAM, simulated by using permanent storage devices. Plus, the video used a more RAM-like flash drive instead of hard disk.

  • @hsq91 Its still not RAM. RAM does not use a SATA or other type of hard drive connection.

  • yeah i do everything but when i saved or set

and click OK when i restart is the same nothing MB doesnt save from my USB

when i do from my HDD is saved but from my USB noo wht

  • but i dont have the F:

    but my USB is G:

    and doesnt work

  • @shqipdonnumberone Not all USB Flash Drives will work as RAM. I recommend going out and asking what type of USB's you can use as RAM.

  • treetousand treehundred and tirty mb

  • Great...tnx a lot

  • @KCZo0m ok and if this dosent work ?

  • omg right i did this and now i cant start my computer its a blank screen with a flashing underscore _ HELPPP ASAP !!!!!!

  • @itsgibbinz13 You obviously used a computer to write that comment... -_-

  • @BoneyPlatypus i have 2 you retard

  • @itsgibbinz13 Alright... Trash your other one ;)

  • lolz thx

  • tree trousand and tree hundred eight MB! lol ur accent it cool

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ATENTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS DOES NOT WORK IT ONLY USES PAGING IF U DONT BELIEVE ME AFTER YOU DO THIS PRESS CTRL+ALT+DEL TO RUN UR TASK MANAGER GO UNDER PERFOMANCE AND LOOK AT UR MEMORY IT SHOULD STILL BE THE SAME

  • @tamayo16 It's because this doesn't actually give you more ram, all it does is it works LIKE ram (but a bit less powerful then ram) So yes, it can speed you up a bit, but not like actual ram can. Heck you might not even notice the difference, but I can assure you it does help. If only just a little. (depends on the flash drive and how much of it your using though :P)

  • Great tut, Good to see your learning at such young age.

  • lol treetrousandtreehundred and turty ?

  • So if I already have 3GB of RAM, and I do this with a 3.7GB Flash Drive will I have 6.7GB? Or just 3.7GB...

  • Good video and showing the uninstall also. Note that it doesn't go over 2gb of ram so anything bigger is wasted. Down below on the page it says max suppoted memory 2gb even though you used a 4gb stick.

  • quick question, Before doing this I ran dxdiag and found my ram as 193 MB(yeah, its sucks)... after doing this and using a 2GB USB drive, it did go extremely faster but the analysis still says 193MB... what exactly happened?

  • @RoxasOathkeeper19 The 193mb ram is your phisical ram the virtual ram comes from your usb drive.

  • So cool dude thanks i don't know how old u are but you are very smart!!!!!
