@digitalrailroader the goal was to show that the same problems continue. If I show older Chrysler's (pre 1998) then Chrysler nutswingers come in and say see see, those are all old (even if the footage was from newer or new at the time vehicles), there is still ample footage of 1998 and before Chrysler's. I can have enough of that defect and problem footage, fires, everything you can imagine to have people watch all day.
@dodgechryslersucks The Neon Engine Head Gasket issue was never a problem in my Plymouth Breeze, because it was built as a 1998 model in December of 1997. however, I was Lied TO MY FACE by my Dealer (which is Closed now) for the Ignition Interlock Recall. I had told them POINT BLANK the Interlock was Inoperative, and as per the Recall, they were SUPPOSED to replace the shifter. they didn't, and I can push my car without the keys in it. I HATE Being lied to!
@digitalrailroader ah, don't get me started on Corporate's policy instructing and pressuring dealers to lie to help them save money. Another Robert J. Eaton (pre-Daimler) way to conduct business (yes it was continued by Daimler) but started before Daimler. I couldn't even begin to tell you the things that dealers tried to tell me and lie about and that thousands of customers have told me in order to not have to cover valid claims. Yeah it sucks being lied to!
Yeah, the "merger" ruined my career with Chrysler. 12 years. Poof. I eventually resigned due to the dumbness of the business model and the ratio of managers to employees. Eventually they had managers in the field managing 4 to 5 guys with the managers doing virtually NOTHING. I quit and 6 month later they offered "packages". Do you think I'm pissed?
Yeah that's a big problem with corporations nowadays, too much worthless management (usually mostly people who know people who get people these positions, NOT by performance) doing nothing and getting paid big bucks.
In most cases these "Managers" don't even know anything compared to the people working in the field (I've been there myself).
Then when hard times come the people actually doing the work in the field get let go. Makes me sick.
wow one of his videos your aloud to comment on. its a miracle. any way im not going to bash you i am 100 percent a dodge chryslery what every guy. i will never buy anything else. epically not after the accedent in my friends jeep. got nailed in the rear buy a toyota and ended up slamming into the back of a ram. that truck saved our lives. i find these videos entertaing tho. some of the things on them ar true like the seat in my truck fold back buy itself and that shift interlock thing.
Well you sound like an intelligent person. If someone wants to own or likes Dodge / Chrysler that's cool and it's all good.
However, theres unfortunately a lot of Dodge, Chrysler fans that for some reason act completely mindless and insane. It's like arguing with the mentally handicapped so I just did myself a favor by disabling comments.

He was he got "conned" and screwed over by Eaton to buy Chrysler leading him to believe it was a lot better than it really was when it was really a sinking ship. One of the worst investments in history.
@Cummins359power Listen you fuckin' retard, it's called "Project Blitz" and Robert J. Eaton who destroyed the company, THIS IS DIRECTLY FROM A FORMER CHRYSLER MANAGER YOU MORON, you can think and blame whoever you want but you can't rewrite history. Some of you Chrysler nutswingers are so fuckin' ignorant it is unbelievable and it's amazing some of you dumb fucks can even use a computer.
@Cummins359power yeah and I think you CLEARLY demonstrated yours like that comment I deleted where your crazy ass actually belive Daimler bought a Chrysler to steal its money?
Again THE FACTS, Daimler paid NEARLY 40 BILLION, AGAIN 40 BILLION (are you following me), THEN ENDED UP TAKING A LOSS THAT WAS BILLIONS more than what was paid by Daimler after all said and done. Yeah they're going to pay 40 bill for a company with ONLY 11 bill so they can steal their money, lose OVER 40 bill, WTF?
Robert Eaton was a terrible person and deserves to burn in hell for ruining this once great company. But on another note, Lee Iacocca was one of the best CEOs that this country has ever seen. A truly great leader Iacocca was...Thanks for posting this video and getting out the truth. 5 stars.
moparcon, YOU ARE A FUCKIN IDIOT. DAIMLER DID NOT KILL CHRYSLER AND THE FACTS ARE IN THIS VIDEO.
It's called "project Blitz" under Robert J. Eaton you dumb, ignorant nutswinging fuck trying to blame the wrong people.
Many things were IMPROVED under Daimler, such as lending Mercedes components to the LX platform with a previous gen MERCEDES E-Class Chassis, Suspension, Tranny and more, if Mercedes didn't help that platform would have been an even bigger POS.
@Cummins359power Daimler had an approximately 40 BILLION DOLLAR LOSS ON CHRYSLER, THE MOST CHRYSLER EVER HAD ON HAND WAS 11 BILLION YOU IDIOT. You don't know anything you clown. I've done extensive research and got this information FROM COMPANY INSIDERS. You just make up what you want to believe or repeat what your nutswinging buddies tell you like some puppet. Another typical IGNORANT ASS Chrysler nutswinger. Unbelievable.
and hey asshole, this information comes from credible sources, actual facts and history and FROM AN ACTUAL INSIDER THAT WORKED AS AS MANAGEMENT AT CHRYSLER and won the Lee Iacocca's Award For Excellence YOU DUMB FUCK.
Hope you like the new Mopars "cough cough, I mean FIATS".
Chrysler killed itself, qualitywise American Cars are the worst cars in the world. And Chrysler in particular is so bad. It's a disgrace for mankind that American Cars are so bad.
Chrysler had been and is the absolute worst of the worse.
Actually that's still a common perception but is actually not true "any more".
Consumer Reports has found that Ford is on par with Honda and Toyota in quality and reliability. JD Powers ranks Ford Above Average in Intial Quality and Long Term Dependability. GM Ranked Above Average in Initial Quality. Toyota quality is actually slipping and Buick in ranked as high or higher than Lexus now.
Ford just recently made a $1 Billion dollar profit gain. Shows how well they are doing. Anybody who says that in general all American cars are bad, doesn't know anything about cars. They're ignorant.
Ya i remember back in the 80's and early 90's Chrysler was on a roll with the downsized turbo 2.2 cars, the minivans, the cab-forward designs, etc. and all the cars got 30 mpg. with Lee Iacocca in charge. He used to say "If you can find a better car, buy it."
Yep, Iacocca would also do things to protect the comapny's reptuation such as when they had common transmission issues, issued a goodwill extended warranty on transmissions to protect the company's reptuation.
He also appointed a really good guy to head up the company's Safety Leadership Team (Paul Sheridan) to keep their minivans and other vehicles ahead of safety. Eaton later disbanded this team and fired Sheridan.
dude I'm not calling you a liar. You said you saw this somewhere and if you did I believe you so that's not what I'm saying, I don't believe the source of anyone that says that Dodge Trucks are some of the longest lasting on the road.
I've never seen anything like that in my life and sorry I'd never believe it. Ford has the reputation for the longest lasting trucks on the road from multiple sources, Chevy too I believe but I've never heard Dodge. Maybe that's what some source believes but I'm sorry I just don't believe them.
What? I've seen and heard time and time again things that show Ford and Chevy make the longest lasting trucks on the road? Never heard anything about Dodge. Is that what Chrysler's marketing or PR department is claiming?
Thanks bro, yeah I agree Mazda does, I just know the quality was kind of lacking and they were quirky for years way back in the day but yeah they're pretty damn nice looking inside and out! I agree!
Nissan I think is doing a pretty good job as well with style and looks, I generally hear good things about Nissans as well or at least when there are problems under warranty Nissan seems to take care of them.
I agree on the the styling, completely, I'm 110 percent with you. Hell I'd drive a Focus over a Prius, Yaris and Fusion or Malibu over a Corolla, Camry or Accord anyday even if these imports were given to me.
I'm not saying these imports are bad cars but the styling is just not me and I couldn't stand it. Some people dig the looks, I just don't.
I also like the looks of Chryslers a lot better but I don't trust the company and continue to see indications of a lot of the same old BS.
I said I prefered the "looks", didn't say quality unless thats just an assumption. Just because a vehicle is nice looking or has a preferable interior to someone doesn't mean that it is good quality?
Trust me I learned the hard way owning several different Chryslers, two brand new. I don't think anyone would have given them a chance like I did and I really wanted to believe the marketing and that they were a good company but I was wrong. Newer Chryslers might be better but not that much.
yeah, my problem is and why it's difficult to say is that I really just don't like the style and looks inside and out of Hondas and Toyotas, it's just not my thing so I automatically would say I'm biased. I do prefer the "looks" of probably even some of the Chryslers inside and out over the Toyotas and Hondas for sure.
I would say I'd probably agree in some comparisons though due to my own preference but Toyotas and Hondas just aren't my thing to be honest.
yeah, thats right neither did Daimler nor Cerberus either which is still unacceptable since just because a company purchases another company, doesn't absolve it from responsibility.
GM has 8 IIHS top safety picks, Chrysler has 2 so it would have 6 to catch up with GM, Ford has 16 so Chrysler has 14 to catch up to Ford.
I agree GM could have done better but they've been getting it together for some time now and yeah they were overbloated.
It also makes me angry that they even have a future while getting out of so many serious widespread safety defects that if Ford or GM dared tried to get away with nobody would have it and people would go crazy but just because Chrysler is seen as the underdog, struggling (management's own doing) and has DOT connections, they can get away with those things like Gen3, unsafe latches, no brake shift, seats that collapse backward when driving, LH steering and more in millions of vehicles.
Yeah I know but we're approaching 2010 here, 2010 and it's taken this long to get 2 IIHS top safety picks and "now" "just" start slowly moving up?
If Chrysler was a person it would be considered one lazy, incompetent, slow or cheap bastard (obviously the leadership has been).
They still have 14 IIHS top safety picks to catch up to Ford and 6 to catch up to GM, a long way to go in building better quality vehicles, taking responsibiity and actually stand behind their products.
It's going to be a long time before I buy anything other than Ford. I still own a 2nd generation Intrepid and as soon as this thing is paid off, I'm taking it straight to the crusher.
As a rule of thumb I'd give every new Gen or repl. model vehicle about 4-5 years leadtime from draft to initial design to actual production so it's a little tricky.
I'd say the new Caravan and Town & Country was probably redone under Daimler however It will always be difficult to say "how" much influence they really had. I left out in the video that Henry Paulson was Goldmen Sachs CEO at the time they were hired by Chrysler under project Blitz (YT won't let me use that term here anymore for some reason so I had to mispell it).
Yeah, a vehicle typically takes several years to get ready for production "several years". The design, planning, testing, making deals with suppliers, figuring out factory retooling alone typically takes years. Eaton was officially at Chrysler until 2000 overseeing the transition even though purchased by Daimler in 1998.
I would say that people at Chrysler were probably testing prototype Second Gen Intrepids, probably by 1995/96. 98's were being sold in 97 as most models a year earlier.
Why does a TRW balljoint for a Durango or Dakota has a failure rate of like 500 to 1 to a Ford Explorer or Ranger when TRW supplied balljoints for all of those vehicles. To me that's quality.

basically Lee Iacocca was a not a bad guy. he turned chrysler around. but yea this video explains alot and tells the truth.... id rate it 5 stars if i could. thanx for putting this vid out there. people need to see the truth. but Daimler didn't help at all neither with that merge in the late 90's they were still satanic. chrysler did better with mitsubishi. my 96 sebring was 100% mitsubishi and i loved the car to death.
you're right he wasn't, he turned the company around and stood behind their products and built a reptuation.
He appointed a SLT (Safety Leadership Team) to ensure the company was ahead of the competition on safety.
What Iacocca did do wrong is let his ego get in the way of making an important decision of who he was going to appoint to succeed him and should have appointed Bob Lutz instead, a real car guy who has been at GM turning things around.
Iacocca has admitted he made a big mistake appointing Eaton and should have appointed Lutz as his successor instead.
Lee Iacocca's Safety Leadership Team is one of the things Eaton destroyed. Paul Sheridan was repremended for trying to do his job as Safety Leadership Team Leader then fired and sued for 82 million to try and intimidate and shut him up (YT channel pvsheridan).
Eaton unfortunately ran the company into the ground for his own personal gain.
there's one thing I noticed about all of the Chrysler Products shown in your videos: they are ALL from the post 1998 Era!
