  • I heard they sung that at the Grand Ole Opry. Anybody know if that's true?

  • Fantastic song !!!

  • I'm surprised that Glen can play a mean guitar also. I figured he was mostly vocals and rythem

  • This is Music! Pure countryrock! Perfect! One of their best songs. It's indeed a pity that both Meisner and Leadon are no longer part of the Eagles. Meisner's voice is great! But Leadon on Banyo and Frey on slideguitar are that aswell. I wish they would make more songs like this. This song is the perfect mix of Country, Rock and a touch of bluegrass!

  • what a fucking amazing voice Meisner has..

  • I have that bass! '64 Hagstrom Futurama :)

  • saw these guys in madison in about 1977 when i was in pharmacy school. with all of the big hits they had, this is the song that brought down the house.

  • Originally Bernie and Randy were the driving force of the Eagles along with JD Souther then the two cocksuckers Frey and Henley decided to take over then it all went to shit as it does when cocksuckers take over.

  • 1971 original lineup: Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Bernie leadon, and Randy Meisner.....added Don Felder, 1975.

1976: Leadon and Meisner quit, fired...whatever....replaced by Timothy B. Schmitt and Joe Walsh.

  • @rowdymax1 Randy quit in 1977 at the end of the Hotel California tour

  • actually, it was Randy Meisner and Bernie Leadon who had the best voices at this time.

  • Can't....concentrate...mesmerised ...by Randy Meisner's luscious locks...lol....I coulda swore he was Linda Ronstadt.

  • Bernie Leadon WAS The Eagles.

  • Sorry man, nobody had them beat. This was the most talent in one band

that existed in that era. Went even higher when JW joined them.

  • Nice version. What a band they once were.

  • randy he's voice bettter than timothy

  • the very best show of the eagles

  • the very bst of the eagles glenn frey is one very best guitarist in the world

  • This was the BEST version of the Eagles before Frey and Henley turned into assholes.

  • If these boys could've just went on stage and did their songs, there's no telling how long they would've been together. They all seemed to get along and it seemed as if they were truly happy as long as they were harmonizing together.

  • Nice guitar solo from Glenn, too. He was obviously enjoying himself, judging from those interesting facial expressions!

  • Im used to seeing them older... so its strange seeing them so young with long hair and they still sounds so mature

  • Randy Meisner and Don Henley could harmonize together like nobody before or since.

  • @MultiBaldEagle CSN has them beat, but they are good. Simon and Garfunkle

  • This had to be done around late 74 or 75 because Bernie is still with them. There is another version with Randy singing this song, from the Hotel California tour. Walsh is playing guitar and Felder is picking the banjo.

Almost every other Eagles vidoe on here has had the audio disabled

  • Randy freakin' rules

  • F**ing rare bombastic masterpiece of real music!

  • Always loved Timothy's voice and I love Randy's too. They are both different. I just love this jammin' they did back then, banjo and all. It was great with all these guys together. They are still great though. This song is fun. Love it!

  • Randy Meisner has a much, *much* better voice than Timothy B. Schmidt. Much better.

  • @grimmpoxer Understatement of the year!

  • Ah man...love this jam! Off my favorite Eagles album! Yeah , reading Felder's book , it is a shame what happened to Bernie , Randy and then Felder...they definitely added their genius to the Eagles machine.

  • anybody have the studio version???

  • This was great work by Randy Meisner and Bernie Leadon. Just too bad it went down like it did and these two left the band.

  • Brill :))

  • nice, i just heard tìs on the deep end.

  • I did the sound at California Jam.

  • @Caljamscott which one? or did you do both? i heard the sound was great espec for such a huge undertaking..and the concert went off smooth, no problems that plagued so many great outdoor events.

running sound must have been quite an experience, i have done it while trying to perform, not easy to do it from the stage, even though i had a wireless system & so forth. what are you up to these days? still running sound, it has gotten so technical first w/ midi & all the advances..good luck..

  • @MOSKII58 I'm noted as the only one who pirated the broadcast of the first California Jam off the FM airwaves, thus it sounds just like the original. Talk about the end of the world...

  • Boy, they surely jettisoned the country-rock sound in 1976.
