As a proud IU alum from the Knight years I can say that Bobby Knight is still raging egomaniac and an embarrassment to IU. He was a great coach until the early 80s but the game and its players passed him by because he was utterly unadaptable and stuck in his own self-righteous worldview and the past. He's a contemptible man who is a part of history but has little relevance to the game as it's played today. Any Power Five team would crush the vaunted 70s teams today.

However screaming down and humiliating people who question your views, and especially doing so in public and on tv, is not cool. Too many people cant respect a great coach Knight was..sure he went overboard a few times but i would take him back in a heartbeat. A coach who knows how to win, a coach that makes sure his team isnt a whole bunch of cream puff pussies but a tough and physical team that wont back down. If i were a player i would take him as my coach anyday. Too all that couldnt handle him as a coach...well keep wishing for many titles as he has

I've played competitive sports and consider myself to have old fashioned discipline and respect. However screaming down and humiliating people who question your views, and especially doing so in public and on tv, is not cool. It shows that Knight doesn't have the kind of respect he demands of himself, and puts him two steps above a complete asshole.
