@TheJimmyeyes that's right my friend. Kiratese have done extremely well in singing and British Army. Now Kiratese must also engage in Nepal politics and help to build Kiratdesh vis a vis Nepal once more. Remember when Kirat were ruling Nepal, Nepal was a flourishing state. There was no caste discrimination and there were laws and regulation during Kirat era. But today Nepal is a failure state. Therefore until Kirat UNIFY and involve once more in politics again, Nepal is going downhill.
There are still many names of places in Kathmandu which were derived from Kirati words.Originally Newars are descendants of Kiratis. Later they got mixed up with Licchavis and the language was influenced by Maithali and Sanskrit. During Indrajatra, you can still see "Aakash Bhairav" displayed outside most of the procession places in Kathmandu. Newars call it "Aaju Dya" wchich means great grand father or forefather God. "Aakash Bhairav" is believed to be the incarnation of Yalamber.
The similarity in place names of Tistung-Palung-Chitlang to the south of Chandragiri hills, now inhabited by the Hale and Gwa caste groups of Newars, and Chepang area, as well as the linguistic relations between the Chepangs, Newars and Kirats indicate they could have common ancestry and could be descendents of the Nagas. The Newar name for Patan, Yala, is believed to originate from the Kirat king Yellung or Yalamba, the alleged founder of the dynasty and the city. (Tiwari,2001)
"Some of the Newar Jaats of Kathmandu, particularly the Prajapatis(KumvahkaraKumharaKumhale), Maharjans, Dongols, Nayos, Tepehoys, etc., have been said to be descendents of the Kiratas". ~Prof. Sudarshan Raj Tiwari(The Temple of the Kirata Nepal)
