There is another version of this video on "Youtube", I like this one better as the other one is plagued by speed fluctuations. I think she nailed this song. My apologies to Lesley Gore. For Lesley, I loved her with that pink catgirl outfit she wore on a "Batman" episode from the 60's.
Is it my imagination or does Klas Burling favor Harry Nilsson? I would wonder if they could be related to the same grandparents.
@hurricanefilms17 The show was shown on Swedish national television. In those days there was only one existing channel in the whole country. Drop-in was a entertainment show for youngsters, with musical guests. Apple bought the rights to this particular show in the 90's, but swedish television got once last chance to broadcast this classic episode and did so. This rip is from that broadcast in the 90's.
This is.. weird. I'm swedish and the questions they ask are ridiculous. First he asks the girl it they were nice, and they were nicer than expected, and then he asks if she got to touch them. (!) I mean ok, it's an alright question but the way he said it.. weeeeirrd. Like "Did you get to fondle them?"
"Drop In" was the precursor to such British shows as "Ready, Steady, Go!" (if "Drop In" premiered on Swedish TV prior to the Summer of 1963) and "Top Of The Pops", as well as American TV music shows like "Shindig" and "Hullabaloo".
The Ford Falcon Era rules! That's when the best songs came out! George Harrison was so adorable in this video and so was his bandmate, Paul McCartney! Beatle banter and Beatle footage brighten up my day!
Truly a gem of a concert and concert footage. The turning point during the early days of the Beatles' fame. I just love this. This video tells the story of the Beatles' meteoric rise to fame and you learn a little Swedish!
@BeatleJohn4848 To make it clear, the last part with The Beatles is already uploaded by other users. The only part missing from my upload is Doris and The Beatles, if i remember it correctly. Thank you for understanding.
This show, to me, is the axispoint of their career. They left the UK as a "little band", and came back from Sweden as a phenomenon. As you watch the Beatles perform, the shift from "the old ways" to new is palpable. We are witnessing the birth of the 60s before our very eyes.
Lill-Babs does a nice job covering the Lesley Gore hit "It's My Party". A pretty girl, with a gorgeous smile, no wonder she made it big. Notice how she's not all that concerned with the audience, but she really knows how to play to that camera. I think I like her.
I guess she's still going strong at the age of 71 back in Sweden, she must have some great memories.
I don't know what the hell she's saying, but it sound snice

Lill-Babs' rendition of "It's My Party" has as much energy in her native tongue as Lesley Gore's English version.

Where's the rest of it? What I've seen I like, especially LIll-Babs' rendition of "It's My Party." There's only, to my knowledge, three parts.
