The event that finished off the dinosaurs was a meteorite impact at Chixulub on the Yucatan peninsula 65 million years ago. Earthquakes happen all the time at Yellowstone. The ground is tilting and then re-settling. Thermal vents open and close constantly. The problem is that the park is not predictable. Geologists just can't be certain. How big an area do you propose the government should evacuate, and when? And if nothing then happens?
