you could use a free software called WAX 2.0, (google it). But be aware if you do to much with it, it is said to crash, but it works perfactly for me. better than sony vagas and pinnacle. Hope that helps.

A friend put his camera on a stand he attached to a skateboard, this let him move the camra around in a straight line with ease. He just attached a two by four board as the base attached to the skate board, and then attached another smaller peice of wood Making a T shape then ductaped the cam on the T.. Course this was way way back when the camera was VHS. bulky and heavy. but this may still work for you.
