yeah, even bands outside of the style. athiest took elements of death and thrash and fused them together with elements of jazz and progressive rock, that's what keeps them interesting, variation and versatility. listening to them break outside the norm is a good reminder to any band that their compositions can be creative and encourage bands to strive for something musically challenging, that's all. and yeah, the bass shreds hard, tony choy is a beast with his finger technique.

A band named atheist with a song named unholy wars? That is stupid. Atheism isn't unholy. In fact atheism is the absence of all beliefs in religion it is neither unholy or holy it is mostly scientific. Unholy would be more along the lines of satanism, not atheism.
The lyrics seem to be a satire on religious "holy" wars. The song title seems quite fitting to me; possibly an atheist's view on wars decreed by religious doctrines, and a derisive one at that.

yeah, even bands outside of the style. athiest took elements of death and thrash and fused them together with elements of jazz and progressive rock, that's what keeps them interesting, variation and versatility. listening to them break outside the norm is a good reminder to any band that their compositions can be creative and encourage bands to strive for something musically challenging, that's all. and yeah, the bass shreds hard, tony choy is a beast with his finger technique.

A band named atheist with a song named unholy wars? That is stupid. Atheism isn't unholy. In fact atheism is the absence of all beliefs in religion it is neither unholy or holy it is mostly scientific. Unholy would be more along the lines of satanism, not atheism.

The lyrics seem to be a satire on religious "holy" wars. The song title seems quite fitting to me; possibly an atheist's view on wars decreed by religious doctrines, and a derisive one at that.
