  • Imho, this song was Way ahead of its time, ... esp. in terms of production and mixing value...

  • Heard this song when i was a kid, then in 2005 heard for the first time again ,love it as much as the first time..great tune..

  • Always liked this song...now I love this song.

  • @laelamarie1 I have always loved this song. check out the live version from 1973, it is amazing--- you have a great taste in music

  • ORGASMES ARE GREAT BUT PICKING WINNERS CASHING TICKETS BEING IN ACTION TAKING ACTION IS MUCH BETTER EVEN BETTER THEN GETTING LAID GEATOR/JERRY BLAVATT GREAT DJ NO MOBSTER

  • A sexy song by a sexy lady. I wonder how many people realize she's describing an orgasm.

  • A lightning bolt can reach 14000 deg F, hotter than the Sun;s surface, and is comprised of pure plasma--the fourth state of matter...

  • I liked it when it was new and it is still a great song. Lots of energy. I would like to hear a duet with Chi and Leon Russell.

  • poetsblend

You just don't get it do ya babe

    Too bad

  • love it. thankyou

  • saw her in concert @ Disneyland got to sit next to her piano she's very much overlooked

  • @mkrascal What year did you see her?

  • She's a pretty big star in Europe, but I don't think she ever did anything again quite like T&L. I've always loved the song and her voice but just don't really get into "Go LikeElijah" or her other European hits. Also, I would LOVE to see her do a duet with Diana Krall (Elvis Costello's wife) or at least possibly Diana do a cover of T&L, though it isn't really her style, because Diana reminds me, physically, a lot of Chi and I think Diana could stretch her vocal wings a bit.

  • This is a great "wake up and get the day going" song....the cast from GLEE needs to hit this!!

  • This song rocks. I associate it with one of my better summers. I just mailed it to my favorite U tube buddy. Hope U like It J.I

  • Thunder and Lightning She says she likes chasing thunder. But when lightning strikes around her feet she runs away. What can I say about silly women who speak boldly about such things
  • HOT!! :)))

  • great song thanks for sharing brings back great memories..

  • I don't see how Mariah Scarey and Lady KaKa can compete w/this. There's talent here.

  • @ronborne1 I couldn't have said it better.

  • @ronborne1 BIG thumbs up

  • Big Jim & the late Sweet Loretta used to play this on 70ps. & our local radio in Dallas. If you guessed I did request it a couple of times. Good 70's song...

  • Love this thanks for the post! I know how she feels! I'd like to dedicate this to Rocker53zero ♥ Donna ♥ He makes me dizzy & weak, I forget how to speak!!!!♥

  • @msstevie1951 Thanks for sending this my way. I had nearly forgotten about Chi. and only have a faint memory of seeing her performing. Internet crashed earlier and I just got back on line. I'm off now to get Ali's spray gun prepared. Xx

  • sounds a bit like Linda Ronstadt :)

  • But Linda didn't go into Rock until around 1974.

  • OH MY GOD!

    I have this 45.

I have always loved true rock and this Rocks!

  • nice... except that 'frightening' is not spelled like 'lightning'... sorry! had to say it.

  • Nice presentation- you did a nice job- I originally thought this was a Bette Midler song, as an uncredited sound bite was used in either The Rose or Beaches- have forgotten now but likely was The Rose. It took me a while to find the artist-. Midler did not sing it in the movie- it was Coltrane. Always thought it sounded like Bette though and think she missed it- and would have been a good recording for her too.

  • When this album first came out I was amazed. I still can't believe that she never became a super star in the music industry. She was not only incredibly talented with a unique voice, she was stunningly beautiful too!

  • Unbelievable! Her voice ignites millions of sparkling shivers running down my spine. Go turn it up loud, folks! This song was not made for moderate volume.

  • Do I recall correctly that she was from the Racine area?

  • i knew chi personally in 71 went to school with her younger sister who introduced me to chi, and we became friends: for the past 40+ years everytime i hear thunder and lighting i think of chi and it makes me so happy inside:

  • I remember seeing her on DON Kersners rock concert in '73...She blue me away! Still does!

  • Man, she wears this song ((and me) out!!! What a great song. Thanks so much for posting it.

  • If I was stranded on an island, this is the song that I would bring for music.

  • Love this song, thanks for the post!

  • I was in the 10th grade in '72 and I remember this song. I still turn it up loud when I hear it.

  • O.M.G.Chi is RAW TALENT. It's been years I last got this grove. Thanks for the post . YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember some years back that Chi played a few gigs in the Chicago area before this song was even charted. I thought she was damn Hot, but unattainable. and I was Thunderstruck by fire and lightening!

  • The first time I heard this song I thought it was Bonnie Raitt singing it. Their voices sound almost identical.

  • Thanks for posting! I think Chi is so underrated as a singer/performer/songwriter/musician. Perhaps more people will discover her through your efforts.

  • Explosive! You got to love it. Great to share this with us. Thx.

  • Remember 72 was 9 and never forgot this Jam.

  • ballsssssssssssss

  • is this a cover

  • thanks for posting this. i love this song! unfortunately i can't find on any cd

  • it's on the Rhino collection " Super Hits Of The 70's: Have A Nice Day" vol 9. The set is not in print, but you may be able to find it on E-Bay or Amazon.

  • thanks!

  • ok i thought it was chi like in china this music is great

  • I LOVE love this song !! My b/f sent it to me to let me know this is how he feels about me !!

  • Great... you are a lucky person to be loved.

  • thank you cameron.. your comment is appreciated !!

  • Someone needs to take clips of Storm in the X-Men movies and mix them with this song.

  • It's a shame she didn't hit she was hot!!

  • Nice Video. All the stuff I saw as a teen is probably hard sought after today.

    Another Chi fan

    Regards

  • Hottest woman ever in Rock. And Talented. Why was she not as big as Linda Ronstadt ?

  • I think it was her open honesty towards God that was prevalent. I think it frightened the record companies and radio stations.
