I bought a USB 3.0 flash drive today to put my music on. The transfer rate was a 10MB/s WTF! I was expecting at least 500. Anybody have any ideas why? I updated my drivers. I have a Asus Maximus IV Extreme MOBO.
If I had of waited 2 months to get my motherboard I could have gotten a USB3.0 revision of my board for the same price I paid for mine only stocking USB2.0 *Bashes head against wall*
Now to get USB2.0 like everyone else that doesn't wish to get a new motherboard I have to get a USB3.0 PCI slot add-on card to add compatability

eSATAp (eSATA/USB) is more economical & easier.
1) 50% of the notebooks out there have eSATAp
2) SATA is in all machine. Upgrading is just a ZERO driver USD 12 delock bracket. 99.9% compatibility as it makes use of onboard SATA.
3). NCIX, Crunchgear have proven that the more economical eSATAp is as fast if not faster than USB 3.0
4) eSATA is found in many NAS. (Note: you need port multiplier feature)
5) eSATAp is ALSO USB 2.0.
6) eSATAp can hotswap!. Can function as IDE mode.
