@MapleCousins It's an arpeggio exercise essentially, all in ragtime fun....start s l o w, when learning, then gradually increase your speed, and I guarantee it is VERY satisfying when you can play it!
@AdmiralDolphin someone might fall victim to one of the classic blunders...The most famous of which is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: Never go against Tom Brier when death is on the line!
@jeremyrom A loss of dynamics is a disadvantage to being so close to the pianos, for sure. The tune is meant to have a lot of the bass notes accented, though, so much of the "melody" isn't really meant to be brought out anyway. As I said in the description, Tom is taking the lead, but he's farther away from the camera, so much of the "foundation" is quieter than the embellishment added by Adam. It's probably easier to follow if you're already familiar with the tune.
@Keeper1st Yes the accompaniment is taking over the song a bit much. I've heard the song many times but I'm no pianist. I would have loved to hear it in person.
@jeremyrom I agree. But then again, I think that "Wall of Sound" is what they were going for. Musicality usually takes a backseat at these late-night cutting contests if it isn't jettisoned altogether.
Wow!

I always love when Tom laughs out loud while playing a duet.

Wall of sound. I cant hear any balance or dynamics. It just sounds like 2 people playing notes at full volume. :(
