a few years ago two parents went out to dinner.a few hours later, the babysitter was calling to see if she could cover up the clown statue in the kid's room, the father said"Get the kids out of the house,we'll call the police we don't have a clown statue"."the clown statue" was actually a killer that escaped from jail.if you don't post this on 10 videos tonight the clown will be in your bed at 3:00 am with a chainsaw in his hand. sorry don't want this to happen to me
i love this band so much! me and my friend were on the bus the other day and there was this old guy who kept on turning around and staring at us in a creepy way, so we moved to the seat behind him and we wrote on the back of the seat THERE GOES NORMAN! with an arrow pointing at the man and i took a photo of it...
Salvadory is right - growing up at this time was exiting and there was music for boys to like and identify with. XTC & Gary Numan were great too - and the music hasn't dated. Pop has it's place - but you don't hear 10 year old boys singing what's in the charts at the moment.
clean, tight, fast, energenic, young, punk at it's best, great lyrics....saw them in Allentown, Pa. in '80 and was 2 hours of just fantastic music and controlled mayhem. Gave the O'Neils some of my buttons I was wearing at the bar at their break. Great guys, fun times and one very talented band!!!!!!!!!! Keep goin lads!!!! Dave Bartholomew orig. from Allentown ps... 999 was great too!!!!!!!
Bleeding great sound, from a bloody great band. Never heard of them until about a month ago. It's a crying shame they never really made it big. It's almost as if somebody took the sound of The Beetles and mated it with that of The Monkeys. Brilliant, just brilliat.
They had to live in the shadow of Stiff little fingers, arguably the best punk to come out of Ireland at that time.Hence,Undertones content was deemed bubble gum punk.Far from it,growing up in a smalltown in Canada in the mid to late 70's,we totally related to it! Tongue in cheek type humour !
At the time they did not have the street cred other bands like the Buzzcocks had etc . Many found there image a bit of a joke . Great shame as the music and lyrics were and are some of the best from that time .
But they were startin to develop different tastes in music. Sharkey went out and done stuff with erasure wile the o'Neills went to 'That petrol emotion'. Different taste in music and the fact that they were only half fillin concert halls lead to this bands decline. Sharkey got sick off the abuse he was recievin from people bout his style and he left
Nice one luv this one thanx for putting it up.U2 should have wised up and realised that an irish accent can Rock aswell without the need to be singing in an american one.
Hey, thanks for uploading this vid! I've been listening to John Peels's music for years and he was very fond of The Undertones. So he played them almost as often as The Fall. And "Norman" was one of my fav songs. And this is good quality - so 10Q!
Bob on this !!

Is it just me or does Feargal sound a little like less pretentious Brian Ferry?

With these great smash hits, I can`t understand why theUndertones are not mega millionairs? Any band in the world(universe) would die for this music.

You can also thank:
M.BRADLEY
D. O'NEILL
B.DOHERTY
J.O'NEILL
You can't say that they were only good because of Fergal. He didn't write the songs.
