I am filipino too,all the food you mention are all soooo good!!! Wow!

  • The counselor was stupid :/

    Most Filipinos are bilingual.

Many could speak both Tagalog and English.

And we're not confused at all.

  • @BebeYnez I agree with you! Most Filipinos in the Philippines are bilingual.

  • @BebeYnez so true. im even tri lingual. I can speak english, tagalog and german :D

  • @BebeYnez speak for yourself, some of us are confused. Regarding the removal of shoes in the house, I though all cultures practiced that! I didn't realize that was such a Filipino thing. Perhaps an Asian thing but not exclusively Filipino.

  • Im not pinoy but im married to one very maganda ba pinay woman i hope to play tag one day im going back to Philippines this 15 of october to be with my wife... Viva Philippinas!!!!!

  • Hiya, just wanted to comment on your whole unfortunate "can't be billingual" situation.

I'm half filipino, and my mum taught me some things to say when amongst other people (rude things yknow) but also taught me words for food etc.

And, when I went into secondary school/high school, I actually sometimes accidentally call these foods by what my mum taught me and I would sometimes get confused, but I've grown out of it now, so it's okay lol. But I still wish I learnt more too! :)

  • Comment removed

  • so you can understand some of the filipino bad words, try me.

  • Don't worry badass. I only said RUDE words, not bad words. They're completely different things. Calm down, kid.

  • haha! i must agree with you with the wooden spoon discipline. my dad is filipino and he used to use that on me and my brother them. haha!

i use to hate that.... but thats when i was younger haha! and more naughty i guess. now that spoon is hmm! im not sure, i think my brother hid somewhere. lol.... great video

  • oops nm!! just saw the tutorial video. ha. thnx!

  • i love the colors you used on your eyes!! can you tell me what colors and what brand of makeup you used in this video?

  • Oh man your long description of Halo Halo makes me crave one right now.. hehe Love it and Taho is the shizzz too. mmm..

  • I don't think the fork and spoon is a filipino thing...i think it's just an old school thing, im latin and we had one too, and so did my granny.

  • You're just like me,

    I don't speak tagalog really.

    I know the lil basics.

  • 5:09-6:30-- you described the same exact same reason why I can't speak Tagalog: First generation, "confusing" the child, and parents speaking it all the time and then they tell me that they regret not teaching me.

  • May i get tagged?!!?!

  • i love the pulvaron! (sp) the peanut butter flav one are my fav!!!

  • yay! im fiipino too! i luv ur videos! it really helps

  • i love the make up and I LOVE THE SHIRT!! c:

  • OMG!!! the wooden spoon and fork is not just filipino!! is also hispanic in general (ask any hispanic person and they will tell you!)...LOL that cracked me up when you mentioned it because my mom had it in her kitchen when I was little =0)

  • yes we know that!!!filipinos and hispanic are very similar interms of culture!... all of us were under spanish empire before!!! atleast our native language are still alive until this days!... thanks to our heros!!!!

  • I am very surprised to see this , but the fork and spoon was very popular in African American households when I was younger-I even remember jokes by comedians about that.-it's a small world

  • I love this game because I have so many Filipino friends and it's so fun to learn these things about their cultures.

  • I remember the runners. My parents still have them in the house.I still can't talk them out of them!

  • Hey ren i love your makeup, and I hated them plastic runners to sometimes we'd run in the house and trip and the prickly things would hurt.

  • 'mix mix' sounds like ice-kachang. it's a desert you get here in singapore. i don't know if they do the same in the philippines but here it's also got coloured syrup over the ice too - like a snow-cone.

i really, really dislike it though : (

  • I think its ice kachang only!

  • Halo halo is nothing like Ice Kachang.. Its more like chendol actually.. Sorry Filipino living in Singapore! Had to clarify.. ahaha..

  • Oh my word, my parents had the plastic runners for the carpet, too!!! Hated them!

  • Lumpia and pancit are my favorites as well :)

  • nice... i like halo-halo too!!!!! hmmmm.. yummy...

  • My parents had those plastic carpet protectors when i was little!! I remember them fromwhen i was growing up haha (I'm English though!)

  • that happened to me also. when i was in kindergarten they put me in ESL, because I only spoke tagalog. i remember my mom crying to my dad speaking in tagalog saying the school wanted to hold me back a grade if i didn't get english down by the end of the school year. i speak very little and understand alot.

  • hi ren! i subscribed to your channel not knowing you're pinoy too! i was just looking for some really cool makeup tips for asians and found your site the best among them. you said you'll be here next yr? 1st thing on your list should be boracay or coron (in palawan). the beaches here are to die for! ;)

  • omg, i totally forgot about those plastic mats! my parents had them in every hallway too, even down the stairs. lol, now that i think about it, they even cut it so they could fit it in our minivan to protect the carpet in it. :P

  • plastic mats? is that when u put it outside and trhen u step on it before u go ion? well i have a black one out and it has a weird desing and has a rough surface. I uselly tip on that, use to hate it.

    the "Freshmaker"

  • "Mabuhay" doesn't mean "welcome." It means "live" or "thrive." It's our version of the word "viva."

  • I hate how they think becoming bi-lingual at a young age confuses children. In fact, it just makes them more well rounded and able to relate to other ppl, in my opinion. Great video renren! mabuhay!

  • Salamat (thank you) a lot for sharing! I'm not Filipino (Chinese) but everyone thinks I am. Growing up in Hawaii, I am exposed to a lot of Asian cultures so I know everything that you are talking about :)
