  • Whats the song at 3:02 ... ???

  • i see fungus in your beard!! ^_^

  • use hairdryer to dry the lens before put it back into the bag...

  • Wow...

  • im not gonna be all PRICKY and complian but you straaight foward answered my questions. GOOD JOB.

  • i hate this video..!!

  • Crazy...

    Heard about your parents and all the talk about it ;

    .

but You didn't actually show us ANYTHING.

  • Useless how to, shows nothing. Please, stop doing such "how to". Thanks

  • You never show the most important part. The cleaning and what you use to clean it.

  • Didn't explain how you cleaned it...

  • but HOW did you clean the lens? what did you use to get the fungus off? just a cloth?

  • @Phreikyone2 (shudder) No, I don't want to even fool with a modern AF or complicated zoom lens. If you own one and really value it then sending it out for cleaning might be the safest option.

  • Dreaded lens fungi...

  • ...background music is irritating. I would have liked this video better without it.

  • august last year my parents went to a garage sal and picked up a heap of old pentax lenses for around $10-$20 and one of them was a SMC Pentax-M 50mm f2. what is this lens usually worth?

  • @zacharney1 unless it is f1.2 or f1.4.... that lens you got is not worth much...

  • Thanks. I spent about $95 for it. It's the 1st lens I've purchased. I guess I wait and see how it looks when it gets here. Once again, thanks for the video. There is also another one here on youtube where the guy really take the whole thing apart. Have you seen that one?

  • I just purchased a smc pentax-M 1:1.4 50mm. I've not seen it yet as I've purchased it in a auction. Needless to say my fear is that it will have fungus and oil on the blades. Overall do you think it's worth a go if I need to take it apart and get it back to the best shape possible?

  • @glee46 Depends on how much you paid and whether its effecting your IQ. I'd say check it out with a flashlight like I demonstrated in the video first. If you don't see much, or if its not screwing up your image don't fool with it. BUT - if you do see fungus I'd bag that lens separate from the rest of the stable to prevent spores from spreading to other lenses.

  • this doesnt show us a thing!

  • Comment removed

  • what do you clean it with?

  • @emperorzong I kind of left that part out since there so many opinions on what works best. I used hydrogen peroxide but, you can find many other recommendations out on the web that might work just as well.
