Sorry about the rejections! This year was the hardest year to get into schools. I applied to 13 schools and got into 3. My friend applied to 33 (no joke) and got into 8. That might just be American collges though.

Yep, you use the "Common Application" system for the US universities. Even if you apply to a university in the Republic of Ireland you don't go through UCAS. Which is a way to sneak around the limit (but gosh it costs a bit)!
you could always try Arizona state university. its a nice place, its where i live. they accept a lot of people who dont live here. and i think they have one of the lowest out of state tuitions. its a cool place, i highly recommend it.

This guy I know, his dream school was Stanford. He's the smartest kid in our class, completely qualified, got a perfect SAT score, and his brother goes to the school as well... STILL waitlisted. No one could wrap their head around that one. You'll be successful no matter what school you go to, Rosi. You're incredibly smart.
i honestly think the college thing is so stupid. those ivy's expect children to be like, robots. the valedictorian in my high school didnt get in the ivy's and he's so an incredibly smart and nice person. they just set u up to have dreams you can't achieve and it makes me angry. eiiicckkk. if u really want to go to the u.s, you should consider applying to colleges like BU or N.Y.U which are still amazing schools, and although they too are hard to get in, it's not impossible.
Hey at least you have ambitions. I don't know of anyone in Australia who ever even considered going to one of the BIG universities. We all just cruise our way into QUT or RMIT or Bond or something. Then turn up to just enough lectures and complete just enough work so that we pass. Then say "eh whatever, I passed" when grades come out. Then go surfing instead of getting a real job once we graduate. Then once we do get a real job we wear jeans. Come to Australia.

Just watched the Womens aid ad. Its brilliant, very effective, My mum works in domestic violence for COPE, unlike the UK Domestic Violence is almost turned a blind eye here, and offenders rarely are punished. When the law was introdeuced in the UK that an pffender can be arrested without the victim pressing charges my mum had a huge rant about the Irish government and how it'll take years before they'll be willing to do that.
On another note, if you do end up at Readin fest, are you considering maybe having a meet up in the town? Because I live close and it would be amazing. xD

I've been in a sort of reading dry spell. And it sucks. I love reading. I started reading 'The telling', it was good. But, I then got dragged into reading 'the boy in the striped pyjamas' and I loved it. I just can't seem to get back into the first book.
I will try though. And that book sounds interesting. I still want to read 'looking for Alaska' and 'paper towns'.

It's their loss. My friend Megan is literally one of the smartest people in her class and does loads of extracurriculars and she didn't get in either. Because, much to the chagrin of almost everyone I know, I love the British monarchy. I mean, in concept, it's dreadful. Birthright? Pah! But to be honest, the average Briton paid something like 60p last year in tax to keep the monarchy going and that's quite alright with me. Besides, I wouldn't want David Cameron as the Head of State as it would soon be in a republic. Not to mention that the Queen is great for national identity and tourism.

I've been in a sort of reading dry spell. And it sucks. I love reading. I started reading 'The telling', it was good. But, I then got dragged into reading 'the boy in the striped pyjamas' and I loved it. I just can't seem to get back into the first book.
I will try though. And that book sounds interesting. I still want to read 'looking for Alaska' and 'paper towns'.

I'd just thought I'd let you know that I absolutely adore watching your videos. I think you were my first subscription ever. And don't feel bad about not getting into Stanford and such. It's their loss. My friend Megan is literally one of the smartest people in her class and does loads of extracurriculars and she didn't get in either. Because, much to the chagrin of almost everyone I know, I love the British monarchy. I mean, in concept, it's dreadful. Birthright? Pah! But to be honest, the average Briton paid something like 60p last year in tax to keep the monarchy going and that's quite alright with me. Besides, I wouldn't want David Cameron as the Head of State as it would soon be in a republic. Not to mention that the Queen is great for national identity and tourism.
