@ozarkcacti Vert was always my favorite, I grew up on it with the likes and skating with Tony Hawk, Lester Kasie, Lance Mountain, Billy Ruff, Niel Blender, ect. I could go on about who I use to skate with but the point is vert is the hardest to master. Street and mini ramps are nice but most that master that type of skating fail if they try and master vert after the fact.

@kawabunga66 Yeah Bro, vert is what I grew up with when I started around 1982. Now at 41 I'm back on the board with my son skating vert at the parks lol A lot of stuff comes back fast while other things will take longer. I'm just happy to grind and carve again, it's now even more of a rush than ever before!

@ozarkcacti I have a similar story, moved in with my parents after a long losing battle of owning my own boutique. I skated the whole time on the streets but never did skate transition for over 7 years, then went to the local skate park and got alot of my tricks back on the mini ramp transitions. Then skated the vert bowl at the park and yes I could skate it but only kick turning the transition. Disasters, 50/50 to fakie, grinds to fakie, on the little transition then just kick turns on vert.

@kawabunga66 No sence in waisting time. I plan to keep skating until I can no longer. I'm riding a Black Label new school deck 8.25 x 32. I like it but plan to get a old school deck soon. Nothing like a 10"+ deck in a pool or bowl! Keep ripping dude!

@jizzy2k Not sure what your comment is about but I have skated with both those skaters. Rodney is a founder of freestyle and Mark is the godfather of street, but of those two Mark is a really incredable vert skater. He went to the street after being kicked out of his local home park for stealing.

This is when skating was real The cities did not build us skateparks they tore them all down we had to skate ditches,banks steal wood in the middle of the night for ramps . the scene was great now is seems skating is too congested more like a fashion show then what it's supposed to be.

Yes this audio was from audio swap, seems dead milkmen did not like me using there song ( punk rock girl ) for the original sound track. Youtube made me change it via. a request from the original copyright owners. Funny because a lot of people wanted to know who the band was on the original, so much for free press.

I used to do that back in the day.. Drove around looking for people's ramps in their backyard. Then I built one at my house. It wasn't all about street skating back then like it is now. It was all about the vert.

i was too young...if i was a lil older i would have gone pro...But I was only like 11-12 and had to be home instead of skateing.. I was good. I had a roskopp eye deck, the year was 88-89 and Black Flag was all I cared about it,..I found a half pipe but the kids who owned it were teenagers and my foaks did not want me hanging with them...So i had my curbs..my launch ramp..then 90-91 hit and skateing was dead. all my skate buds moved and gangbanging was the new rebellion..
