He uses a 35 mm adapter. In this case an SGPro adapter. Search for it and you will understand ;)

Video looks spectacular--but I have to agree. If you wanted to make it feel a bit more gay, you could put some Peter Gabriel track on for atmosphere. (it doesn't matter which since all basically amplify any inherent gayness in a scene)

I was looking the a XH A1 today, but I'm planning on getting an XL1 first, and then getting familure with the editing, before I sink 4k on a camera w/out being loaded.

It's nice quality, but one heck of a bite in the checking account. Id say well worth the money reguardless.

definitely would not recommend getting an XL1!.

they are way to out of date, are still SD, and are incredibly insuferior to the XHa1.

just save up your money, rather than wasting it on the XL1

If I'm not mistaken, they are built on the same frame of technology? I have little experience with these high end cameras and feel that starting off somewhere would be better suited with the old version. However, you have more experience than myself, so I'll take your offer. With that being said, is the XL2 in the same catagory as the XL1 as far as being deeply outdated?

hi mate, yeah, sure, the XL1 is a good camera. but still pricy, and very outdated. its got many many problems with it, which is why they brought out the XL2, and it won't record the quality you are looking for. its a good idea to start off with a cheaper camera, thats what i did, but probably the XL1 is not the best camera. maybe look at a prosumer HD camera, from sony, and start with them.

Did you have to keep your hand on the focus when you were following them? I always try to follow people with my sgpro/dvx and i constantly see them going in and out of focus with each step i take. so i keep my hand on my lens and try to keep them in focus. your subjects just stay in focus it looks.

I can't focus while using the steadycam, because then the footage will get shaky. I just try to keep the same distance to the person I'm filming. You should use a good monitor to see what's in focus ;) f.ex Ikan V8000HD
