  • Nice Video, gun is fun to shoot excellent for poisonous snakes ( I dont shoot non venomous snakes). and Great for self defense at close ranges ( 10 yards or less).

  • A good review. Seems like a fun revolver to shoot. I like the option of being able to shoot .45lc and .410 shotshells. Definitely one of the handguns on my list.

  • First off it's gotten good reviews by just about all who have shot the pistol, second it being made in Brazil is no big deal at all because Brazil has good metal just ask Toyota,Nissan,Subaru;it's usually Brazilian steel they use in making their leaf springs similar steel to 5160 high carbon,I'm sure with the right tempering and cryo treatment that Taurus boasts it's probably good strong steel.I'm going to buy one of these ASAP,looks to be about the best home defense pistol I can think of.

  • your quick fire shots would've looked pretty good on a torso target. not bad at all. had those first 5 shots been with 000buck or PDX1's, the target probably would've come apart. how's the recoil from the 45lc vs buckshot?

  • Actually even your rapid fire group would have ruined someone's day had they been on the recieving end! Found your vid while researching the Judge; thinkiing of the Public Defender myself.

  • Pdx-1 shotshells are really good at close range ...

  • Try using 2 3/4" 00 buckshot. 4 pellets stacked on top of each other at 30 feet. thats my choice of ammo. My only issue with my judge is that it has fixed sites for up and down adjustment. mine shoots 3" high at 30 feet so all I can say is get used to your gun.

  • Hey real good video. I have a Taurus 605 .357 Magnum and I'm looking at getting the Judge just because i'm wanting something reliable for in home/ car defense and I like the idea of being able to switch between .410 and .45 colt. How has the gun treated you so far? Thanks!

  • @DetJohnKimble100...Have had 0 issues. Carry it the most. Very versatile.

  • Would be a usefull training video if ear and eye protection was used.

  • @dmajor97415...Some people just don't know how to learn from other's mistakes. Must get it right next time.

  • Feel sorry for anyone who get hit by that. Can somebody say "ouch!!"?

  • I just took a buddy of mine down to the range to shoot his new 3 1/2 judge and my glock 19. We shot both the 45 and the 410 and I can honestly say that my 9mm glock had more recoil than the .45 long colt. The judge is a very heavy revolver and very manageable. One of the most comfortable pistols I've ever shot.

  • I wouldnt wanna be hit by that

  • nice, that'll keep my bedroom secure for sure! nice scattered pattern, hell you dont even need to aim it, just point in shoot in close quarters!

  • @therealjimguy...Exactly, in the dark with eyes closed, you'll still hit them.

  • hows the recoil with the 45 colt

  • Your like 6 feet away

  • @greenpooter...And?

  • I like the Judge, but the Govenor won me over.

  • I shot this gun today with the 45 mag and the 410 and the pdx1 shot, cannot wait till I get my hands in this gun for myself

  • good god... after seeing that pattern i think ill just stick to my .410 shotgun

  • @King9419...Two different guns for different uses. Try carrying that shotgun holstered on your hip.

  • @mrbigtex Which is actually a good idea, and how some military weapons are built around, take the FiveseveN and the P90, one's a selective fire personal defense weapon fired at the shoulder, the other is a handgun PDF chambered for the same 5.7x28 round. They can be used with the same round but have their specializations, if you have both they'll hopefully fit together seamlessly on the battlefield (in the P90 5-7's case) and on the shooting range (the Judge and Your shotgun).

  • I'd never want to have to shoot anyone, especially not with a gun like this, but it would be fun at the range, if I ever start shooting.

  • @King9419 the orangal Judge was made for use inside cars, or other areas where the user is confined and can not operate a larger weapon.

  • people talking bout 410 with such short distance just put a .45 round in it then your accuracy obviously gets way betterthan birdshot people act like u can only use shotgun rounds to defend your home dont forget that it does shoot a damn .45

  • with a spread that wide, i dont know if i'd want to use that in public for fear of hitting someone else

  • @naby777...Point it at a doorway and you can't miss an intruder.

  • @mrbigtex

good call...do you think you'd have to worry too much about over penetration with that short of a barrel or not really?

  • @naby777...Not really. It wouldn't penetrate through two layers sheetrock, but would do a number on an intruder.

  • a 410. birdshot from a judge.... maybe it wouldnt kill you from 100 ft away if you're pretty lucky, but from 10ft? you got no chance without body armor, and likely even so guess what,....

    IN THE FACE.

a bb gun can kill because the bb going at 350 fps,can go through your eye,and hit the thinnest part of your skull, right behind your eyeballs, which is extremely easy to break, and then they have direct access to the brain...guns should never be underestimated.

  • I love all these safety sallys where is the america where a man can do whatever he wants on his own property and not have to be critized by a bunch of internet retards? You supposed ''right wing freedom lovers'' preach that shit fro the mountain tops yet when a man acts on what you praise you down him? You people are the reason america is the way it is today.

  • YOU NEEDED EYES AND EARS!!........(protection).....ringing ears suck! and you want to keep your eye sight to shoot another day! thanks for the demo that piece is very impressive!

  • If great britain has cops as bad as the us and way more practiced criminals, which i doubt, why do you even live there?

  • Comment removed

  • I just bought the judge today. I have the 3in barrel and and 3 in chamber. Has anyone else had problems with the 3 in winchester .410 buckshot rounds fitting in the chamber properly?

  • Impressive accuracy at range here

  • I think the first shot should be the bird shot round. then the rest 45. that would insure the first shot to hit the target and the rest to finish the taget off.

  • Had a guy at the local range with a new Judge today, he was pouring out the .410 shotshells, it was a beautiful thing to see.

  • lol, all this talk about this gun not being a good home defense weapon. first off, If youre shot with #6 shot in your face Im positive 1 of the 5 rounds will stop your advancement. Secondly, why not shoot an intruder with the Corbon hunter. 300gr 1300 fps and Muzzle Energy 1126 ft lbs. Ya, tell me this gun sucks. The 3in model I have groups 3.5 inches at 20 feet, which isnt bad as i only have 100rds through it.

  • Good shooting up close with those sights !

  • is it a 2.5 or 3 inch cylinder?

  • The problem with the judge is it isn't particularly good at anything. Pretty much any .410 load has insufficient penetration to reliably stop an attack, people can grandstand all they want with anecdotes and baseless, myopic opinions, but thats just a fact. Someone using one for defense might get lucky, but might not. Its completely unreliable ballistically. And lets not forget the liability of firing multiple projectiles with one pull of the trigger in a defensive situation on the street.

  • sorry im kinda ignorant when it comes to guns... how come with the first set of shots he fired 5 by just pulling the trigger and then with the second set of shots he cocked it before each shot?

  • @Kevin2589 in the first series he shot "double action" which basically means the hammer moves in sequence as you pull the trigger. The second series he shot in "single action" ( like the old cowboy revolvers) which means you cock the hammer back before each shot. This shortens the trigger pull, which usually leads to more accurate shooting for novice shooters. Most revolvers manufacutured today are both single and double action capable

  • what kind of holster do you have?and would it fit a sig p226 9m?

  • Im thinking about getting this gun i think its pretty badass to shoot .45 and 410

  • I think this could be one of the best SHTF guns ever...dual ammo pocket shotgun pistol. It covers a lot of bases.

  • ya bird shot might be abel to stop some one,,, but in an appartment it will keep you from killing people in the next room,,,..i keep mine loaded with buckshot....... i hate my nabors anyway...lol

  • Here in Brazil to have any gun is a crime.

  • @daltonagre I feel bad for you, you're really missing out. The US isn't perfect, but at least we still have our guns.

  • @daltonagre...And to think that Taurus is made in Brazil

  • That will turn someones face into hamburger.

  • also u need to practice ur fundamentals steady pos, trigger sqeeze and breathing that iswhy your first few arnt that great but tks 4the vid

  • Finally a good demostration of the Taurus using all the rounds. You know I always tell my girl no one shoots without ear plugs and glasses. Excellent vid though. Thanks for taking the time.

  • haha that gun looks so small in your hands

  • ya get 1 for the house! 1 for the car! and 2 for the kitchen and bathroom! (<---shamwow joke)

  • you should try the pdx1 ammo.

  • It may not kill someone at that range but im sure they'll wish they were dead!!

  • Looks like some serious power. I would not like to get hit with it.

  • i bet those hogs learned not to give you any lip after that! :)

  • Man thats an awesome gun. To bad we can buy them here in california. Cool Video.

  • I have a 6.5 inch barrel judge taurus and it is really cool. The gun works great besides some brands of .410 ammo has trouble coming out of the gun after i shoot it. Has anyone else had this problem? I've found the winchester is the best brand for easy removal?

I have a video you can see it in action as well: search: taurus judge 6.5 inch shooting a clay pigeon.

  • Your last shot of .410, the wad hit bullseye! Great Video - you really should wear ear protection.

  • nevertheless getting shot hurts. dont tell me this gun is crap. get shot by it then talk if you survive

  • close range rabbit/bird hunting anyone?

  • If you hit someone with birdshot that close, they are gonna look like ground hamburger...

  • 000 Buck or 4 shot for self dense..I shot a Bond Arms Defender though.

  • For home defense the 000 buck is far superior than the .410. If anyone breaks into my house I don't want them able to testify against me.

  • @jt1403 I would actually use bird shot or, better yet, lead filing shells. Buck shot penetrates too well for home defense. I'd rather not have a pellet stray off and kill someone by mistake. You're looking at a lawsuit anyways. Bird shot still has enough power to eviscerate someone but won't penetrate drywall with nearly as much force. Lead filings are even better; they'll peel the flesh off of bones but won't go through a wall. Problem is, they're damn near worthless past ten feet.

  • Looks like an impressive gun, but, I'd never cup my hand around a revolver's cylinder. That's gotta hurt some?

  • This is a great defense gun. my cousin takes it when we go tracking in the woods. The Judge for close range (snakes, etc.) and a Kel-Tec for longer range.

  • Hello Mr BigTex!

Enjoyed your review of the Taurus. The video had a very "Natural" feel and the video was paced nicely. Oh and great 4' group with the .45lc.

    Subscribed!

  • ear protection my friend, i know its annoy but dont sacrifice your hearing.

  • wear hearing pro. man!

    great vid.

  • if they aint dead, they aint happy

  • That birdshot isn't guna kill nuthin at that range.

  • @fearnstarr Feel free to try it out and prove your "theory".

  • @mrbigtex haha your right it will lol even if it dont that person aint gonna be doing much after it them little lead balls will roll around inside you but also cause a LOT of pain even at a good distance nice shooting btw

  • @mrbigtex If it don't kill em they damn sure ain't gonna be able to hurt nobody.

  • @fearnstarr say your hiking though and someone tries to fuck with you you could shoot them with the bird shot it prolly wont kill them immediately but it will knock them down and they wont bother ya any more thats for damn sure

  • @fearnstarr

ya that shot wont do much penetration.. although it will leave a very nasty flesh wound.. make hamburger out of someones skin but need to step it up a bit to get good stopping power.

not that i'd wanna be shot with it though.

  • @fearnstarr I blow holes through 2x4's at 8yards with 6 shot so yes it actually will

  • @fearnstarr its gonna knock ya down for the secon round wich would be a ooo buckshot and the a .45 mag for the third.the spray is a good icebreaker so to speak

  • @fearnstarr birdshot is definatley gonna phase ya.the after that its .45 mag the rest of the ride

  • @fearnstarr It may not kill anything at that range...but you break into my house, let me shoot you with a birdshot, and you tell me if you as happy as you were when you walked in...ok pumpkin?

  • @fearnstarr Birdshot might not "kill" anything at that range...But if somebody were to break into my house, and I shoot them with a birdshot, I GUARANTEE you they will hit the floor, and definitely not be as happy as they were when they walked in...

  • @fearnstarr OK Leather Ass..check out the back side of the target at the end of the vid. and that probably a field load of #6...try #4

  • @fearnstarr ohhh okay if you get shot in the head, your prob gonna be dead.

  • @fearnstarr I agree bird shot is not good for home defense . It is best used for snake's and varmints.

  • @SavageHmr Bird shot is best. Why, because if you have family in the house "kids" that may get out of bed to see what the noise is and you shot a 45, 9mm or something like that and miss your target that round will go through walls "sheetrock" and could hit kill a family member. A birdshot will slow down after a wall and most likely not kill your family! Birdshot spreads to a patteren filling up an entryway making your shot a hit! Badguy doing everything to get the hell out. Bleeding a trail too.

  • @fearnstarr evidently you have never seen anyone shot by a shotgun.

  • It sounds suppressed.

  • HI,nice gun man,good for selfdefence,is the barrel rifled.

  • i hate how these fuckin people on youtube always care about the person in teh video wearign ear protection. who cares its not your ears so stfu.

  • Mr Bigtex - thx for reviewing the gun decently and actually FIRING the thing. I also have a 3" judge; almsot wish I had got the defender model but wanted to chamber the 3". The judge is EXCELLENT for home defense and less worry about collateral damage of going through walls, hitting innocents, etc etc. Like most realistic folks know, defense scenarios happen withon a few feet. No matter WHAT the load, mr badguy is gonna stop with a facefull of Taurus. Regards to you all in the Lonestar state.

  • what is a stronger round, a 44 mag or a 410 shotshell with a rifled slug? also, what would you say has more recoil? Thank you

  • What a great gun and review

  • If your ears are ringing, it is not good. You should wear hearing protection whenever you shoot any gun. Just a few shots can permanently ruin your hearing and it will get worse as you get older. Just a friendly reminder.

  • Who said that a person has to use birdshot?

  • Thats a big hole!!!

  • judges talk out their problems in court.this one dosent!

  • @RottSimba The JUDGES final verdict: Guilty!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I watched the Taurus video overview and they said it is primarily for auto defense; the demonstration using .410 shot shells from inside the vehicle to the target a few feet away through the passenger side window showed devastating results!

  • i got one with my dad about a few weeks ago

  • My dad's got one of these...works awesome.

  • The Judge!

  • Just got one today. Looking forward to shooting it this weekend. Is it ok to shoot 410 slugs. I know some shotguns advise against it. Any input would be appreciated.

  • The Judge is rated for .410 slugs. Any standard production .410 round from snake shot to bird shot to slugs, and any standard production .45 Colt round is fine. If you want you can mix and match and it will function OK.

For my money I'd rather have a regular .45 but the Judge will function with any regular production .410 or .45 Colt load. Versatiity is there. Strong gun.

  • damn i want a taurus gudje so bad.....mainly for the .410 .

  • nice shootin' Tex!

  • GOOD VIDEO

  • thats a badass gun better get one before the liberals kill it . sad but true.

  • @Bekkant

    Isn't that the truth.

  • @Bekkant I consider myself a UK and I do not want to take yours or anyone elses guns.

  • @Bekkant

Really? Because I am a liberal that owns one of them. Also, a Glock 22C, a ruger 22/22Mag, a Henry 22Mag, and a Remington 870 12 gauge. But all liberals are anti gun, right?

  • @TheRedWorm1 Maybe you are a liberal and not a progressive. There is a big difference. The true test is if the government tells you to have to give up those guns will you?

  • @TheRedWorm1 No but they support anti-gun groups and politicians thus making them de facto anti-gun.

  • The Judge: $450, ear plugs: .50 cents... doing permanent hearing damage: Priceless!

Seriously dude, don't shoot without hearing protection, yikes!

  • @RylanCGN he's not even in a shooting range he is out doors which means you dont need to wear ear plugs

  • @ROFLNOSTFU

You should always use hearing protection indoors or out. Anything louder than 85db which most guns are require hearing protection

  • @ROFLNOSTFU - This is true, but I've shot my .22 without ear plugs and that is more then sufficient to cause hearing damage if done enough. a .45 Long Colt and .410 Shells from a Revolver with that short a barrel... OUCH!

  • @RylanCGN ya DONT NEED TO BE ABLE TO HEAR TO SHOOT AND HES OUTSIDE

  • i like that ^^

  • But why would you shoot somebody with bird shot?

  • @yamaxer If you shoot someone with bird shot, there is a much less chance that an innocent bystander could get hit. Also, if you shoot someone in the FaCe with bird shot, they will more than likely survive and will remember the day they tried to rob you etc when they look in MIRROR and have nasty scars on their face.

  • to piss them off and give them acne face i suppose

  • in side your house or like his distance 10 feet. bird shot will bring a big dude to his knees. if you feel so confident you want me to have a go at shooting you with bird shot.

  • I'm sure you'd rather get shot with that than with a .45. My grandfather accidentally shot a guy with birdshot once hunting, it's not very lethal and it would never be something you should rely on to stop someone.

  • Try shooting someone with birdshot at a typical self-defense distance of ten yards or less. They would be lucky to survive. Not to mention they would be really messed up IF they did.

  • @free2game Turkey loads would stop somebody

  • hey stupid have u ever heard of self defense loads they don't load bird shot they have slugs, buckshot and not to mention a typical self defense situation doesn't happen much over 5 or 6 yards , bird shot would be highly effective at such a distance

  • Because birdshot isn't going to go through the guy trying to rob you and hit one of your kids.

  • im a big semi auto guy myself but the judge is pretty damn cool esp. for a self defense weapon... id trust my life on it when it's loaded with the 410 shotgun shells

  • should I spend the extra cash get the the 3"chambered ones. or the older judge?

  • 4" group of 5 rounds of .45lc might stop someone....what kind of people do you plan on shooting

  • My dad just won this exact gun for 10 bucks lol, I fuckin love it!!

  • Max Payne used one of these in his film!

  • that movie ruled just for that gun!

  • Cool! I enjoyed the video. I have an American Derringer Corporation, Model 1 .45 Colt / .2 1/2" .410. It is a lot of fun to shoot and it is more accurate than I thought it would be. I recommend hearing protection, especially using .410 shells in such a small gun. Mine does seem hard to hold onto after about a half box of shells....my hand gets a little numb.

  • try keeping ur elbows bent just a lil bit so u can absorb the shock from the gun, this will help on your accuracy alot

  • Good video. I'm heading out to buy one now. May want to buy some ear protection - that way ur not deaf at 65.

  • wow you handled the.410 pretty well.

  • Yeah these guns are nice im planning on buying one next payday

  • looks like you were pulling to the left on that first .410 shot !?!?

  • theres a black one in my local gunshop, i think its about $400. im really tempted to buy it, .45 and .410 in 1 revolver is just too badass to pass up.

  • i dont think u hit it

    jk nice vid man

  • Nice. Video. I you get change try that birdshot on a watermelon or pumpkin at about the same distance. I would like to see the effect. Thanks.

  • i use 3 inch slug in mine it damn sure does the job on hogs

  • Shot three hogs with it this weekend.

  • i bought a judge about a year ago i absolutely love it , i dont know why he's using shot shells i got 3 000 buckshot and 2 45 colt in mine i think that would be the most affective way to do it .

  • Buckshot happens to be shotshells also.

  • yes i know this , i guess i should of specified "bird shot" , but not trying to down you its just an opnion.

  • This video was shot for demonstration purposes. I use this gun primarily as a snake gun. Bird shot #4 serves that purpose best. If I was using it as only self defense, I would probably choose a heavier load.

  • ooo ok yea that makes sense, i carry mine as a back up weapon, but im sure it makes a hell of a snake gun!

  • THANKS FOR SHOOTING THE 45c AND THE 410 SHELLS I WONDERED ABOUT THE TWO ?? THANKS

  • me and my dad went and saw one this week my god the best handgun ive ever seen

  • awsome self defense weapon for close range.........

  • Cool gun to have, but it's kind of poor for concealed carry. It's light for it's size, but it's way to bulky. Good gun to have on your coffee table or passenger seat.

  • Agree

  • would this be good for shooting snakes when i go fishing in my pond

  • Simply stated....yes

  • I don't think if I owned that piece I would ever load 45lc in it.. I would keep 00 buck .410 rounds in it for home defense.. that is a bad ass revolver.

  • Thanks for that awesome review man... I hate this other jack asses that are just holding the pistol in their hand and talking smack about it. Its best to just see it in action.

  • you can get one with a six inch barrel

  • How good would this gun be on small game?

     squirrel, rabbit? no.4s

  • Not good. The shot pattern disperses to quick to use for game.

  • awesome

  • how much can i expect to pay for a tarus judge

  • Depending on the specific model ... anywhere from $500-$700

  • I picked mine up brand new for 432 bucks about 4 months ago. Just shop around a little bit, you should be able to find one for under 500. Mine is the blued model, they wanted another 50 or 60 bucks i think for the stainless. Mine also is the 2 3/4 inch cylnider, not the 3 incher. 3 inch barrel as well

  • does the taurus shoot 2 3/4 .410 shells?

  • Only the "MAGNUM" version does. It has a longer chamber that accepts 2 3/4 and 3 inch shells.

  • at 2:30 on its the shot plugs hitting the target dummy

  • At extreme close range (say the distance from a car-jacker to your driver side door), I would imagine the perp would not actually walk away so much as crawl away with about 20 feet of his intestines dragging on the ground.

  • While the target looks peppered, would it actually kill someone?

  • Yes, it would kill someone depending on load used. Regardless, how many perps do you think would continue an assault after being shot with that many holes? Bigger isn't always better, you must put lead on the target and this will surely do that!

  • If it doesn't kill you the 8 hour surgery of bb removal would make one wish they were dead. This guy at close range would be devastating, SkivMarine used a good example.

  • is it double action or just single action??
