I, for one, started as very impressed when I first thought it was him singing, then moved to less impressed when I learned it was not. Try lipsyncing four part harmony? How about try SINGING 4+ part harmony, performing and arranging all the parts yourself- something that actually takes musical talent. Lipsyncing is just matching your mouth and facial expressions to go with the music - I've been performing in internationally touring choirs for years, something you can't do unless you know how to match your voice and expressions to everyone else's - I don't think I'd have a problem "lipsyncing" to 4 part harmony.
As a barbershopper, I'm still impressed. It's like learning a complex song with no sheet music and no split learning track - no easy task! He nailed the presentation, production & sync...and chose a DAMNED clever song!
Besides, he clearly stated it's not him singing and Moosebutter loved it, so...

Actually, didn't you hear what he said (and it's also kinda common sense)? He had to memorize the entire thing... All 4 parts... and then perfectly lip-sync them all without messing up. So he DID learn the song, and the only thing he didn't do was write it or sing it himself. But it's still pretty cool.

Looking at the story behind in more depth, It took countless comments (and -after- he got featured) for him to admit in the description that he wasn't the one singing. Before, you had to go online, check moosebutter website to discover he wasn't singing. For the record.
Of course the song is a cappella, that's why the vid displaying it got world famous, along with the fact people thought the guy in it was singing (just read the comments for it).
But the video is not a cappella. So why does Corey call it that ? It's not an accurate description of what it is.

He didn't mislead you. He had it stated clearly (if you actually read the info to the right of the video) that Moosebutter was actually singing.
And the best part about his video? He led me to the real Moosebutter's page! Those guys are GREAT!!! :)

Why does he keep calling his featured vid "the a capella video" ? It's not a cappella, it's lip synching. And you won't find "lip synching" in the key words of his vid, but all the possible spelling of ä capella", why ?
Looking at the story behind in more depth, It took countless comments (and -after- he got featured) for him to admit in the description that he wasn't the one singing. Before, you had to go online, check moosebutter website to discover he wasn't singing. For the record.

Of course the song is a cappella, that's why the vid displaying it got world famous, along with the fact people thought the guy in it was singing (just read the comments for it).
But the video is not a cappella. So why does Corey call it that ? It's not an accurate description of what it is.

how is it not a cappela? or am i missing something. because the way i see it, the video is focused on the song (which is A Cappella), and not his lip syncing.

If the focus was on the song, not on what corey did... Then why do we talk about him, not moosebutter ? They should be the subject of the documentary, as they did the cappella.
I think if we want to talk about corey's vid and achievement, the question is still there, why doesn't he describe his work as the lip synch video rather than the cappella vid !
I just can't explain that. Maybe he could, he favourited this video so maybe he'll address that question.

the original video was focused on the song. that's why they called it a cappella, BUT, this video is on the success of the original video as sort of a documentary of how this all worked out.

oh you mean that corey insisted to call his video a cappella and titled it tribute to J.W. not to detract attention from the song, while he could have gained praise for his lip synching ?
Now that would be an interesting notion.
Maybe now that the song got famous, Corey could change the title of the vid, or use the youtube annotations, or add into the keywords to attract attention on the fact he's actually lip synching, so that he finally gets full credit for his skills !

I know moosebutter wrote it, but he said that it took him forever to memorize the 4 parts, and when you watch the video you can tell it's not lip syncing, so what is it?
