To all that are complaining about the video. You probably the same people that are saying it takes us a long time to get there. Second those who say shut of your light and siren off While sitting in traffic? Really? You think they do that in any other city? This looks to me to be a very heavy traffic area. You need people to know your coming. Thats why we have lights and sirens. There was still smoke showing when they got there. There for the call was not under control. Did not hear it either.

Well, to be fair, the school bus wasn't first in the intersection. That particular intersection is very small, and the light is green once the bus is going through. Plus, with the Q peaked, electric siren, Air horns, it seems pretty safe for them to advance through the intersection.

I am very familiar with that intersection - there is a grave stone on the corner where the person died 100 years before my birthday. However, in my former volunteer days - I learned after being a little over the top in responding - that it is not worth hurting someone while responding - to a small fire.

It was a mutual aid. They were responding to a neighboring city, and on top of that, they are on the very southern end of their cities response area.

Units on the northern end got there much quick. For example, engine 3911 got there in 4 minutes and Rescue 4041 got there in 3 minutes. Before you start talking as if you know everything, do some research.

well you have your opinion and the hundreds of firefighters that have cameras on there helmets and film working fires and post them for the purpose of people seeing how they work have theres. It is not unprofessional and if you would like to attack one person for it then search helmet camera and attack everyone else that does it also. The clips that are used are both edited down and reviewed for content so to not cause any harm in any one.

Where did you expect the bus to go??? Knowing this intersection and the distance the bus was from the intersection, there were likely 3 vehicles in front of it, and no room for it to move to the right due to the other vehicles already there. Busses don't fit into small spaces. He moved as soon as he could.

Again, the point is they had nowhere to go. There is traffic on the right hand side blocking a move to that lane, and traffic coming in the opposite direction. The whailing the Q would have done no good.

I had a situation similar to this in Jacksonville Florida. I was driving a school bus but was the first vehicle at the red light.

When the firetruck came, it got behind me and I just made sure it was clear and ran the red light and got out of the way.

Those air horns on the firetruck scared the hell out of me and I wouldn't have stayed in the way for nothing!
