It really depends on what year that Gallardo was, 04-05s were slow as molasses, 06-08 had potential depending on driver and an lp560 is hard to beat.

I only paid 33k for my 2004 Mustang Cobra Terminator new. I've invested nearly 17k in modds. A Kenne Bell 2.8H Supercharger, running 23psi boost, racing suspension, Brembo brakes, weight reduction, too much to list.

On pump 93 it makes 668whp. I make 856rwhp on 100 octane.

Im american and im embarrassed how that mustang under performed. 600hp mustang.. They just dont run like they use to. Doesnt the stock GT500 barely run in the 12's. ALmost every 500 horsepower car like the vipers, vettes, gallardos, Murch..etc .. run high elevens or a low low 12 with sub 4 second 0 - 60.

As for american handling.. vettes have handled tight since the first C4 generation.. Though the 1984 vette (now when they looked back) had a shitty carry over motor it pulled 1.00g..

Superior Engineering... The m5's v10 is a monster in roll races. 0-60 in 4.5 sec, 500hp at 7200 rpm, but the torque numbers are low for a v10 in my opinion. I think the padel shifters make a big difference between the beemer and the Mustang in a roll race.

Yes, but the paddle shifters are actually not that fast. Someone with enough experience could shift faster with the 6 speed version of the m5. The new Double Clutch system is a revolution, Almost pure Constant acceleration. Sorry, just not a fan of the mustang, i think it belongs on the drag strip, this is no place for it.

it seems as if it´s suspension was optimized for going fast from 0-60mph. everything i read and all the vids i´ve seen state that the car gets quite sleepy above that speed (compared to it´s competitors of course).

in fact it is a great car and i´d love to have one for myself, but the speedy thing only works out in accelerating from lower speeds.
