The only reason a person would be talked into using a 2 wheel dyno for an AWD is they don't have a 4WD dyno or they want to push up the HP figure. Go find a REAL 4WD Dyno and re-tune your car. Then and only then can you honestly say how much HP you have got but it will be at all 4 wheels.

@iwetaded You don't need a permit to own one, what you do need is a legalized skyline if your talking about having one in the usa. Usually that just entails testing to ensure it passes epa standards, but it can be expensive.

What turbo setup / engine eci are you using? I use a Motec M400 with Motec Dash and it's amazing, but I'm doing a big power run next month as I put in an ORC Triple Plate as the Exedy single plate can't handle the power around 500rwhp.
Also what coils and spark? Spitfire? Personally I'm using a M & W CDI with Mercury coils.
@Parag0n Its not my car, it is a customer/friends car. It was built by XS Engineering. Mostly Apex'i parts. RX6 kit, Apex 2.6, pistons, and rods. Engine management was a Power FC Djetro. I can't remember what clutch this car has in it. However after running the Tilton carbon/carbon I couldn't recommend another serious clutch. Drives like stock, handles anything. Buy it once, and you will probably never replace it or slip it. Tilton are real race parts, hard to get, but the best.
@Parag0n coils were stock with a B&M New volt putting 20 volts to them. I hate Splitfire, nothing but problems. I like new stock coils, new coil harness, #7436 plugs in a 10 heat range. FIne wire plugs.
@Tyndago actually the supra I'm bringing back is a left hand drive supra. Trust me, I've already checked with a professional about the supra. But I defiantly will check your site about that skyline.

In japan, I can get a supra with only one minor mod (an after market intake) for $2800 us. So I'm not too concerned about the skyline. The supra I was the most nervous about. That's my dream car. But it's sadly pretty easy to get over in japan.

@tyndago A right hand drive Supra is not illegal in the US as long as it passes the resident's state emissions test and DOT standards. There is no law against right hand drive vehicles (of any kind) in the US. Jeep and Subaru sold RHD vehicles in the States for mail vehicles up until a couple of years ago. So, as you said, ignorance is bliss. I'm not asying you're wrong, I'm not saying you're right, but everyone else's facts aren't the only ones that are off.
@frozenflame448 you are correct, right hand drive in itself is not "illegal". However to import a car legally, you have to pass Federal DOT standards, and Federal EPA standards. Being state legal for emissions does not mean that it meets federal emissions standards. I originally worked at Motorex from 1999-2002. I have worked on importing and legalizing vehicles to the US for the last 12 years. I would like to think I know what I am talking about. Just trying to help you prevent some grief.

@thatoneguy9112 in order to legally import them into the US, you need to meet EPA and DOT standards. So you can't just load them up, and ship them over. There is quiet a lot to it, people have done it illegally, but if you buy pass customs there is a chance of seizure. Check out my blogs if you have any real questions.
:40 best part. I'm flying to japan next week to pick up a 94 Toyota supra twin turbo with a 2jz engine, and a 99 Nissan skyline r34. Both used with only 20 thousand miles. The supra is at 655 hp and the skyline is at 600 hp. Can't wait!!!!! But once I fly home I have to fucking wait for them to get shopped back. :/

@deathangel96gr 4th gear power run is normal in cars pushing anything over 400rwhp really.
From my experience using a Mainline Dyno my power run in 4th is now 477rwhp, but in 3rd gear I only get 455rwhp (Pump fuel)
Dynos are tricky, many different brands, Dyno Dynamics are always going to read higher than Mainline or Dynapack. If it's in Shootout Mode (Dyno Dynamics) it has the potential to go up another 50rwhp, or more and methods exist where you can fudge figures.
1043hp? come on man we are tired of hearing this bs,maybe 500hp or so thats it! for those that dont know, they are ways to get a HERO PULL on the dyno and post huge numbers on here to impress the people that dont know,,,,,,,,,,,,,
@tyndago Love the car but technology is no replacement for displacement. You can apply technology to a higher displacement engine and it will get more power than a lower displacement engine.
if you did a little research before you posted that stupid ass comment, you would have knowen that the Nissan Skyline engine can be tuned to (and above) 1000hp.
So i have a question. If its a GT-R then its 4 wheel drive. and the transfer case gives 50% to the front and rear when the front wheels are straight. so with the front shafts out then did you measure 521hp and calculated 1043 or did you measure 1043 and you want us to believe it has 2086hp? or am i missing something? Thats what i was told about the gtr transmission, learned it in a tech dvd. Teach me if im wrong cause if i am i want to learn.

@iwetaded R34 Skyline is illegal in some areas. i live in canada and im not allowed to have one licensed for the road due to safety infractions. Same thing happened with the Chrysler prowler, we needed to get extra stupid looking bumpers that sorta ruined the car

@NismoxToPSpeed The reason you can't have an R34 in Canada is because it has to be over 15 yrs old. It has nothing to do with the bumpers. And the Prowler is very much legal in Canada. I know people that own them and there is one for sale in a dealership in my town.

@tyndago Nice work, thought you'd have methanol injection or 90% methanol but 1000rwhp+ from an RB26 using C16 is awesome.
What turbo setup / engine eci are you using? I use a Motec M400 with Motec Dash and it's amazing, but I'm doing a big power run next month as I put in an ORC Triple Plate as the Exedy single plate can't handle the power around 500rwhp.
Also what coils and spark? Spitfire? Personally I'm using a M & W CDI with Mercury coils.
Can you give more info about your build? Cheers

@Parag0n Its not my car, it is a customer/friends car. It was built by XS Engineering. Mostly Apex'i parts. RX6 kit, Apex 2.6, pistons, and rods. Engine management was a Power FC Djetro. I can't remember what clutch this car has in it. However after running the Tilton carbon/carbon I couldn't recommend another serious clutch. Drives like stock, handles anything. Buy it once, and you will probably never replace it or slip it. Tilton are real race parts, hard to get, but the best.

@Parag0n coils were stock with a B&M New volt putting 20 volts to them. I hate Splitfire, nothing but problems. I like new stock coils, new coil harness, #7436 plugs in a 10 heat range. FIne wire plugs.

@Tyndago o yea. I new that's what you were getting at. The supra actually already is 100% legal (I quadruple checked that one) and the skyline I'm not even going to bother. In japan, I can get a supra with only one minor mod (an after market intake) for $2800 us. So I'm not too concerned about the skyline. The supra I was the most nervous about. That's my dream car. But it's sadly pretty easy to get over in japan.

@tyndago A right hand drive Supra is not illegal in the US as long as it passes the resident's state emissions test and DOT standards. There is no law against right hand drive vehicles (of any kind) in the US. Jeep and Subaru sold RHD vehicles in the States for mail vehicles up until a couple of years ago. So, as you said, ignorance is bliss. I'm not asying you're wrong, I'm not saying you're right, but everyone else's facts aren't the only ones that are off.

@frozenflame448 you are correct, right hand drive in itself is not "illegal". However to import a car legally, you have to pass Federal DOT standards, and Federal EPA standards. Being state legal for emissions does not mean that it meets federal emissions standards. I originally worked at Motorex from 1999-2002. I have worked on importing and legalizing vehicles to the US for the last 12 years. I would like to think I know what I am talking about. Just trying to help you prevent some grief.

@thatoneguy9112 in order to legally import them into the US, you need to meet EPA and DOT standards. So you can't just load them up, and ship them over. There is quiet a lot to it, people have done it illegally, but if you buy pass customs there is a chance of seizure. Check out my blogs if you have any real questions.

:40 best part. I'm flying to japan next week to pick up a 94 Toyota supra twin turbo with a 2jz engine, and a 99 Nissan skyline r34. Both used with only 20 thousand miles. The supra is at 655 hp and the skyline is at 600 hp. Can't wait!!!!! But once I fly home I have to fucking wait for them to get shopped back. :/

@deathangel96gr 4th gear power run is normal in cars pushing anything over 400rwhp really.
From my experience using a Mainline Dyno my power run in 4th is now 477rwhp, but in 3rd gear I only get 455rwhp (Pump fuel)
Dynos are tricky, many different brands, Dyno Dynamics are always going to read higher than Mainline or Dynapack. If it's in Shootout Mode (Dyno Dynamics) it has the potential to go up another 50rwhp, or more and methods exist where you can fudge figures.
But this car is legit.

So i have a question. If its a GT-R then its 4 wheel drive. and the transfer case gives 50% to the front and rear when the front wheels are straight. so with the front shafts out then did you measure 521hp and calculated 1043 or did you measure 1043 and you want us to believe it has 2086hp? or am i missing something? Thats what i was told about the gtr transmission, learned it in a tech dvd. Teach me if im wrong cause if i am i want to learn.
