  • Incredible sound, everyone of my hairs are fighting for a standing place, unbelievable

  • fuckn robby's gutiar warps me when it melts into the introooo snoppy drips drips

  • Brilliant. A white whale for Smith to achieve an albumn version live, but it doesn't matter...the soul is still there, the heart. No matter the interpretation, it is sheer geneious plain an simple. For those that this song is a favorite, no live version is the same...but it is. Outstanding.

  • get your fuckn voice out of my head, i wish you were dead.

  • such a great song. i love how the instruments in this one sounds :). all their songs r great :)

  • i love all the instruments incorporated in the cure's music. this song ... EPIC!

  • Quee temasoooooo

  • this song reminds me that The Cure is a really great band... :)

  • quit stressing about labels, great band who makes incredible music, what else do you need

  • @antifundi, i am 44 years old now, was almost at the beginning a fan of the cue and still am but they started as a new wave band, the demo's were like postpunk yes and nowerdays they are just the cure, they dont fit in any kinda music anymore in my eyes and ears...they are my religion, still....glad you didnt write they are goth ;-)

  • I wish more people my age liked the cure.. :( screw you mainstream!

  • This song has so much power in it!! and the lyrics are perfect for someone who you loved so deeply and just ripped your heart out of your chest. This song is amazing!! The Kiss me album is perfection!! The Cure forever!! ♥♥♥ :)

  • Simply AWESOME version!!... My cure is The Cure!...

  • i hate the way jason play that charleston !!!! DAMN !!

  • when roberts guitar plays this it gets me so hot.

  • нормально для нас стариков 1958 года рождения

  • what a fuck are you crazy greg0058 ? hard rock ?

you should learn somthing about music and the first lesson i give you is that the cure is not hard rock, and the other too.

the cure at the beginning was a post punk / dark wave band and later on gos mor to an alternative / rock band.

  • @antifundi

this song is very heavy - esp. for them. No reason to be rude about semantics.

  • @wookie37 I agree its semantic. Soundgarden is hard rock but to some people it is tame compared to what is out there. make music yourself good people and get into your own grove -- we all have the POWER to make great music.

  • A Masterpiece of hard rock.

Makes Deep Purple, Black Sabbath , Hawkwind sound tame.

  • Freaking Robert Smith rips! Song is almost too intense, like I've gotta be in a certain place for it...but yeah, incredible. Listening to The Cure again after my late 80's jag, they are so great.

  • the sound is amazing!! Never heard such a good live quality really.

  • Me encanta el solo de Robert... The Cure por siempre

  • Sweet! The Cure are so frickin awesome! Whenever I'm feeling down .... just listen to some Cure ..... always makes me feel better. Thanks Mr. Smith!

  • no better way to tell someone how much you dislike them, i say!

  • @amigajenni yeah, agree!

  • Isn't this a Barry Manilow song? Just kidding, wouldn't that be funny? Seriously though, great song...and back off Jason, he's a top drummer in my book!

  • Comment removed

  • This song is simply amazing. The guitar is so dark and enthralling. It's a beautiful piece of music.

  • this is a fantasic song great guitar hope they come and do a concert here in australia soon

  • The guitars, his voice, the lyrics... Fucking tortured. It's like screaming and crying and driving your car right off the edge of a cliff.... and screaming in anger all the way down.

  • sei un grande.....

  • the cure les meilleurs au monde

  • This is on the Cure Trilogy dvd!!!

    great song!

  • the only song ive ever heard him say a curse word in must be powerfull

  • Perhaps, this is one of the most angst-ridden songs ever recorded. This track sounds very powerful live.

  • indeed my friend.this is the most "to the point" comment I have read for this spine chilling song

  • fucking amazing, robert never die !

  • this song hypnotize....

  • je suis d accort ce son hypnotise

  • Simply the Greatest!!!

It's amazing how Robert manages to forge the same magic with different line-ups...

  • yeah as long as hes there its always amazing. very powerful song!!!!!

  • this is almost at the level of jimmy page and david gilmour, great guitar work.

  • Robert's quite talented, isn't he?

    Old but beautiful.

  • well ill speak english lol I LOVE THIS SONG EVEN LIVE LIKE A DECADE LATER they still play it badass THE CURE Is just a Unexplainable Band of their Sound and Talent thats why their CAlled THE CURE cause its just that it lives up to Its NAME I LOVE U ROBERT AND SIMON

  • Esta canción me vuelve loca...es una pasada

  • I think it's a brilliant song. The guitar on the Kiss me album is so raw!

  • Man I dig that Gretsch that Robert use to play!!

  • yeah dude that thing is so sweeeet. god i love guitars.

  • Fuck me. Even live this song is so intense. I love the build up.

  • Pienso que una de las mejores rolas del disco Kiss me kiss me kiss mee.

  • ja! The kiss, tremendo, marcó mi vida, me enseñó que la oscura tristeza que llevo dentro no era tan mala...sólo era mi forma de sentir....

  • The Cure...un gruppo leggendariooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very nice..

  • Robert un genio...non ci sono parole..sei speciale..

  • i going to a cure concert in atlanta, ga this june 15

  • The Cure are a special band that appeals to special people and Robert as a guitarist is so under rated that it makes me scream. Without bands like The Cure, there would be no me, there would be no great minds like Robert. The Cure are so many things that so many people want to be.... such greatness, i would die for them.

  • rock on brother rock on u say it

  • i agree with you about smith's underrated guitar work. i've tried to play a lot of their songs, looking up tabs and shit, and his guitar style is very unique and surprisingly complex.

  • Ok, thank you. TMV I already knew, listening to Arcade Fire now...

Keeping eclecticism alive, have you heard Stanley Jordan (Jazz guitar)?

  • One of my favs. Have a playlist of him.

  • Nail me to the floor! Robert is my fav guitar player by far!

  • You have got company! Robert is my favourite guitarist too. Also, he is a unique guitarist and I have never heard anyone play the guitar in the way he does!

  • Indeed. Rob is so gifted & unrated. A couple of years ago on Billboard or Rolling Stone (I forget) they had an issue naming their Top 100 Guitarist of all time & Rob was robbed of any mention. Needless to say, I never bought the damn mag again. No loss to me when I know what an extremely gifted & creative guitarist he really is.

  • Forget about all those ignorant statements made in magazines such as "The Greatest Guitarist" in the world. If you go by all those ratings you are highly unlikely to find Robert mentioned anywhere. Who needs all those fake accolades, anyway? The Cure's music touches so many people and that itself is a testimony to the fact that Robert is a magnificent guitarist. The Cure is a special band that appeals to special people. That's more than enough.

  • kiss me my angel

  • The Cure and Radiohead are the best bands of the past 30 years. So different and soooo good

  • IMHO The Police, U2 and Nirvana are better than Radiohead. Pink Floyd's The Wall is better than Radiohead. Peter Gabriel is way better than Radiohead and bests The Cure. R.E.M, The Clash and Dire Straits at least as good as Radiohead. But I agree that The Cure shines on its own. Great great song

  • I agree w/u...maybe..You mentioned those bands, and all of them have more than 30 yrs.(except Nirvana) R.E.M.:...hmm..they are good...Definetely I like the variety and quality of your choices...See my playlists, I, myself like all of them

  • Thx. REM 1980, Dire Straits 1977, The Clash 1976, U2 1976, The Police 1977, The Wall 1979, The Cure 1978, most of Gabriel's production ist also from that tomeso I really wasn't off the wall. RadioHead much more recent... But I can't find much more besides them and Nirvana... We'd have to start looking into other genres to find good stuff. I like Black Eyes Peas, Eminem, some of the Bjôrk stuff and some other female soloists out there doing nice stuff. Ah, and there's Rage against the Machine!

  • Check also The Mars Volta, IMO that's a band to watch. And of course my favourite new band: Arcade Fire from Montreal.

  • Thanks for this post!

One of the great, butt-slapping intros in R&R history.

  • It was in july 2002 in France... Festival des Vieilles Charrues... Brilliant

  • my bad... it seems to be in Switzerland... paleo Festival same year :)

  • Amazing song!

Only Cure can make songs like this!

  • this is good but the studio version is beyond killer...the lead guitar work is mesmerizing.

  • Trilogy>this one but this one is still pretty good.

  • really cool but worring!

  • killer bass

  • incredible, they should have a fans version greatest hits. the other one is full of the more radio friendly tracks.

  • What´s the brand of smiths guitar

  • On that one is Gretsch

  • Papito, I want to kiss you.

  • he's never really recognized for his guitar playin (robert) but instead hes recognized ofr the lipstick and the hair... but he really should be recognized WAY more for his guitar playing

  • amen...one of the most underrated guitarists out there...

  • agreed

  • He is not a virtuoso. But he got feeeeeling.....some (a lot ) of painfull (expresivness) of I don't what ...fuck something that makes him GREAt (to my humble standards) DUDE!! U R D BEST!!! I hope to c u again......CURE x ever

    s
