There are a few pitch problems in this performance, but she's still very enjoyable to listen to. A beautiful, rich tone. And she does know how to bring a character to life which is something that was lacking for many years in opera when the practice of 'stand and bark' seemed to reign supreme.

I would like to see her play Marguerite in a full opera of Faust. She is the quintessential Marguerite. Judging by her voice and beauty, she is the opera icon that has brought people to opera. She is loved by music lovers everywhere.

I think that her performance has nothing to do with the shy, simple, and innocent Marguerite. True, she is excited when she sees that jewelry, but she is a simple young girl, and not so showy and ostentatious as Netrebko portrays her. There are a few pitch problems in this performance, but she's still very enjoyable to listen to. A beautiful, rich tone. And she does know how to bring a character to life which is something that was lacking for many years in opera when the practice of 'stand and bark' seemed to reign supreme.

I would like to see her play Marguerite in a full opera of Faust. She is the quintessential Marguerite. Judging by her voice and beauty, she is the opera icon that has brought people to opera. She is loved by music lovers everywhere.

Anna is out to make money. She is ruining opera along the way. She doesn't care, it's all for her money. Sex sells, especially in the U.S. She's making as much as she can, as quick as she can. Opera will pay the price in the end. Hey, I don't care what Netrebko does, it just guarantees Callas as La Divina forever!!

It is true, she tends to have intonation problems, and she is not Callas or Tebaldi, but then again where in the world do we find a singer of their calibre nowadays?
We have to make do with what there is.
But I definitely do not like opera presented as a music video.

opera singers perform, not MTV !! Is she afraid of La Scala ? Is she not good enough? Does she not have her Tomato-Proof helmet ready?? What in God's name is it??? La Scala was " home " to Maria Callas for ten years. Oh, that explains it! How in God's name can anyone walk on that stage, with the spirit of La Divina enshrouding it.

It is soo funny reading these idiotic experts comments here, whereas Anna Netrebko sings in the best opera houses and is being highly regarded and LOVED by the best conductors, as well as being admired by public. It is truly amazing how a few losers here try to make it sound like Anna has problems while Anna is doing fabulously well, she DEFINITELY WILL REMAIN as one of the greatest voices in history and people who used to bash her would still be some shitty unknown losers from you tube.

Anna has a unique and a very sophisticated voice and style with an incredible silver sound. Besides,. I do not know of any other soprano with such a lovely free and effortless top note.

eradesso , Anna was named operas leading lady (that is number 1) in a March 27th of 2009 story in the Times (UK) titled The 20 Best Classical Divas. She sings with great success in all major opera houses, so PLEASE do not make fun of yourself publicly, you are going to be hurt my dear.

I think that her performance has nothing to do with the shy, simple, and innocent Marguerite. True, she is excited when she sees that jewelry, but she is a simple young girl, and not so showy and ostentatious as Netrebko portrays her. No offence to anyone, but the costumes she wears are AWFUL, and the entire visual impression lacks class and taste.

Anna Netrebko, es una cantante excelente y muy bella, tiene una tesitura increible.Mas sin embargo creo que este performance es tan "Avant garde", que es practicamente ridiculo. La opera surgio como un arte mixta, que requeria elegancia y distincion en su ejecucion, pero con este video, es muy patetico. Las cualidades anterirmente mencionadas no dudo que Netrebko no las posea, pero con la mgnitud de este videoclip,esta vulgarizando al "Bel canto", esta llevando ala musica al nivel de popular.
