~for my days living back in Chicago!!

  • I saw three band on three nights at Newcastle City Hall in 1981. The Cure, XTC and SLF. Oh to be young again...

  • many years of this and that NYC punk rock hardcore and the like i always revert back to SLF the only punk rock with a vibe you cant get away from BAT!

  • First heard this on the Driver trailer WAAAY back in '99. Still rocks. Shoulda been a much bigger hit.

  • Timeless........................Great

  • saw this lot in 77 and 78 still playing it loud in the car now!

  • I never realized how fuking awesome this band was until this song.

  • @S0C1ALxINSUB0RDINATE Listen to Alternative Ulster too! SLF rock!

  • @danielscissorhands yea man thats a kick ass album

  • This is one song that does NOT need more cowbell! :) lol

  • every 17th March play Barrowlnds in Glasgow

  • this was real punk rock!!! SLF 4ever!!!

  • The Clash couldn`t hold a candle to these guys and as for U2..for f**ks sake....not even close...Stiff Little Fingers had balls...proper balls....without the bullshit...Respect.......

  • @rockingthevillage

    FORKIN'RIGHT-O Mate!!!

At Last SOME ONE (ELSE) .. with My/my kind Of "Sensibilities"!!

    Cheers

  • @rockingthevillage Without The Clash there'd be no SLF - or no SLF as we know it. Jake Burns would be the first to acknowledge that, I'm sure. SLF has humungous balls. A full-on, fantastic fucken band. Inflammable Material still burns holes in the wall opposite the stereo. U2 on the other hand ... The less said, perhaps.

  • @Finbarbarfin Never mind the Clash... Of course Jake talks about the clash being an influence BUT... Jake Burns was a big Black Sabbath fan so he must have combined some Sabbath influence into his music too..! Which is probably why I FECKIN LOVE Stiff Little Fingers... I was brought up on Sabbath, Queen, Rush, Thin Lizzy.....etc (I'm supposedly an old fart at 45..). I just seen SLF at Glasgow Barrowlands, again... And they still ROCK! SLF are a Classic Rock band in their own right!

  • Hi mate

"Never mind the clash" ?????sorry but you really dont know what you're saying, The Clash and Joe Strummer were the inspiration of Jake Burns and SLF, their sound has nothing of black sabbath or Thin Lizzy.

"You can say crap on the radio or strummerville" themes probably will change your idea about the importance of clash , who knows.

    Best wishes

    Pedro

  • @pedroabranco Nah... Clash maybe influenced SLF BUT SLF take it to a whole different level... Jake Burns is the real deal!!

  • @rockingthevillage I LOVE THE CLASH.THEY WROTE ABOUT IT BUT SLF LIVED IT ON THE STREETS OF BELFAST!

  • @rockingthevillage True! Fingers Way Better Than The Clash!!

  • @pUnKpSyChOsIS Not sure about that.

  • The Clash of the wee North, almost.

  • I adore this band.

  • saw them a few times in the late 80s, really good, tight, great songs too .loadsa energy.agree about the bass, great in this one.

  • where is this? saw them in barrowlands 3 times, punishing nights, never forget them

  • this song is sick

  • legendary - you should listen to "Get a Life"

  • i wish i was there

  • what a band saw them in dublin in 1987 thought my ear drums would burst was standing right up beside a six footer at the stage and then saw them in belfast last year on their anniversary tour one word AWSOME LOVE THEM CHEERS SEE YOU UP THERE HANX

  • fucking ledgendaryy

  • Comment removed

  • I like the bass line in this.

    Hmmm.....

Not the band though; not many of their other songs, either.

  • My dad was there woooooo (Y)

  • ahhh

    what an awesome band

    i wanna see them live

no tabs for this song anywhere tho

and i am really crap at working it out.

cud i get a bass or guitar tab from anyone please.

if my band ever learns this song, ill put it up.

    later

  • Incredible.

  • this song makes me cry. dunno why. just does. love it. thanx.

  • Hanx Stacyblue, its a great tune, glad you like it, keep smiling. Jimmy.

  • real originals, really good sound

  • what punk band ever had the passion and enthusiasm of these guys? slf rock!!!

  • Yeah, they were great, and the biggest shame is they still could be, I just wish they could bring Henry Cluney back

  • I love the Ramones, I love The Clash, I liked the Undertones, I appreciated the Sexpistols but STIFF LITTLE FINGERS are THE ULTIMATE PUNK-BAND IN THE WORLD. Nobody else at that time with such a fresh and at the same time mature sound

  • yeah I agree, from 79-81 no band in the world could touch them, i used to wander years ago how U2 got so big and not SLF. Shame.

  • @damnedjimmy shame? fucking tragedy that slf werent as big as boner and the boys...U2 SUCK!

  • Real punks ... not like the plastic shit you get these days ... just coz they got a haircut they think theyre punks ... where is the attitude

  • lucky enough to have seen them a few times over the years, with the best being a couple of times at the Barrowlands. Great PUNK with a top venue. CLASS!

  • Brings back loads of memories of seeing them live several times in London in their prime. Excellent live band, but shame the production on the post Inflammable Material albums didn't do due justice.

And to think I had a hair cut like Henry's and got the piss taken out of me at school.

  • Fingers were never the same without Henry, apparently he was ''asked'' to leave because his guitar playing was too heavy. Flags and Emblems stood up to the old stuff I thought, but all downhill after, parts of Get A Life was OK, but bring back Henry.

  • guitar and drum was a great album too and we can both agree that tinderbox and hope street are crap

I'd take Ian over Henry even tho Ian is a Rangers fan lol

  • ich kaufte die Single 1979. Schön, dass ich jetzt dieses Video dazu habe. dankeschön !

  • You're very welcome, Hanx

  • i like this song

  • BRILLIANT SONG

  • thank u for this great video !!!

  • QUALITY VIDEO !

  • now THIS is punk

  • Wicked..going to see them Friday can't wait

  • Just Awesome.
