  • Wow really people? I bet the dislikes come from jealous kids who blasts the double bass thinking theyre cool. Pathetic. And this vid is more than 4 YEARS OLD!

  • Bad*

  • Good stuff. Glad to see such originality. Also, loving the Sonor set.

  • Impressive !

You got your whole life to grow! Keep on drumming, you're great!

2 years of drumming, your grooves are great. You'll be a beast in 5 years.

  • this dude sucks hard!!!

  • great to see a solo from a young guy who's NOT trying to sound like Travis Barker, or the guy from Sevenfold or any of that tripe. really natural and groovy, nice one!

  • stick to building cars

  • bro keep them grooves up ! nice for your age !! SONOR FTW !

  • LEARN YOUR BLASTS and youll bee goooder lol but serious you soud like me 3 years ago and im 15 now youll get there

  • @stoneman619

please dont be so patronizing, this guys now a freshman at uic as a drum major. he gives drum lessons and is planning on going into jazz, which if you know anything about drumming is the most technical and skilled area there is for drumming. He's already had multiple gigs and is probably top 50 now in the chicagoland area.

  • @stoneman619 You are seriously depressing. I hope you haven't passed that advice onto too many people......

  • is that the attic? lol

  • Nice drumming keep it up, one thing though its all single strokes on your drum fills ( Breaks) try to vary it, and try to add some triplets in to make it sound awesome!

  • Good job man! Don't be concerned with what the punks on here say. The ones that are cutting you down are the ones that are jealous. The crap-talkers probably didn't take any sort of formal drum lessons in their lives and are jealous of you playing better than them.

Keep doing what you're doing, practice a lot and never give up. 10 years from now you could be playing with some of the biggest names in music. Nice job.

  • gud job dude u rocked it....comin from me thts BEAST

  • ?????

  • your tom is too low

its gonna give your awesome bass drum a nice scratch -_-

  • beautiful kit!

  • thats seriously the biggest floor tom to overall drumset ratio

  • nice work dude! keep it up u sound great!

  • dude, ignore the negative folk saying crap about your solo. You did great, I personally thought the tom patterns were quite complex and tight! 5 stars.

  • thats really good man im still saving for a kit and rarely get to play could you watch one of my vids and mabye some feedback man thanks, oh and btw im also 14

  • Very good technique. Arms, wrists and fingers all working. That said, never be satisfied of what you got. Stay hungry and keep finding new stuff to challenge yourself. Go to clinics. Get lessons from good drummers of different styles. 10,000 hours of practice to be a super guru. No short cut. Likely will only take you half because you are gifted. Thanks for posting. Look forward to watching a super drummer in the years to come ...

  • Nice playing man, the toms sound a bit off , but I think its just the sound ,but nice feel and playing my man.

  • @TheBlackMonster74 thank you! yeah, I was using a 10" clear emperor w/ rings on it.. I didn't realy know how to tune back then. I'm using coated emperors on my 12" and 14" toms now

  • Great style and good improvisational skills, as well as nice technique and stuff :)

It's quite visible that you like that you do, well done, that's the main thing!

  • music runs in my family. so far im da shit with the drums! ill make vids of my drum lessons or sumtin like a solo

  • Traditional Grip... Really?

  • Of course his last name is Han.

  • Asian kid...nuff said...

  • CHECK OUT MY DRUMSOLO

    VICTOR THELL

  • pretty good for your age

  • Love this nice and simple and good rhythm

  • k drumming is not just hitting things, you have to make everything sound good together, and all the fills have to be right. without the drums in a band it would suck. the drums the heratbeat

  • not verry good

    even i could do better

  • kinda plain but great fill ins!

  • Are you using your thumb for your left hand? Can't really see, looks like it...

  • Love the Mr Hi-Hat bit at the start! Steve Smith is the man!

  • im nor saying its bad but ur hi tom sounds like its a sound affect

  • traditional grip isnt used very often in drum set playing.

  • thats class and for the retards who think drumming is just hitting random things no it isnt. id like to see u try faggots

  • The drum set is the hardest instrument to master, by far. The lack of standardized technique and rhythm theory beyond note values and time signatures. Sounded good for 2 years.

  • @Colerosity thank you!

  • @Colerosity try the basson thats some hard shit and i masterd it

  • excellent stuff!!!

  • ur retarded drums are one of the hardest instrament try doing mor then 4 things at once

  • to say that drums r easy is pretty ignorant. so ur sayin it's easy 2 do wut ronald bruner jr, dennis chamber, vinnie colaiuta, or ne drummer n the industry does? takes a lil more than just 'gettin ur hands and feet to move right' lol. lets c u play for stanley clarke and c if ur theory's the same

  • yer gettin good boy!

  • i hate it

  • @100010101000101 i said drums are easy. um. guess you meant to reply to another?

  • @daimeun32347 No i meant to reply to you rofl. You said drum are easy, I am saying they are not. At all.

  • @100010101000101 i play the drums and the piano. drums are hands down the easiest. with the drums you have to get your hands and feet to move right but once thats done its simple. piano takes a lot . sheet music is much much harder aswell as playing in general. i said they were easy as a standpoint from other instruments. didnt mean they were easy like anyone can pick up sticks and do it.

  • @daimeun32347 You seriously enrage me. Saying all you need to do in drums is get your hands to move right is like saying you only have to get your fingers moving right in piano. Its not that simple. I dont play piano, but I play around on guitar and bass and they to me seem as easy to get a good sound out of as drums are. i bet your one of those losers that says they play drums as a second instrument when you can play probably about 4 beats and play a kit at your friends house twice a month.

  • @100010101000101 I have a kit and i can play and read sheets for both. piano isn't so simple though.

  • @100010101000101 Thank you, people dont understand that drums are actually the hardest to master and get good at. he may be right that they are easy to play a 4/4 rock beat, but then on the other side of the instrument, you can be playing like polyrhythmic sub-divided odd time signature shit. so daimeun i would have to say is the most musically uneducated dick who as you said, probably plays 4 beats.

  • good job man not bad at all your good these people who give dirty comments are just jealus peices of crap who are jealus keep up the good work man

  • I Got 1 Word ........... Shit !

  • good job

  • That color set fits perfectly in your room. And really nice drumming

  • @Piano4lifest thank you!

  • what the hell are u saying JonathanHan are u fool drums need lots of practice and needs fast hands an also basics learned by heart

  • People people people.. Dont start arguing about what's better.. There's things in drums, that are so freaking hard.. and there's things in guitar and piano which is hard..

    - You aint no musician if you can chose a "harder" instrument. A Cowbell can be freaking hard to play.

  • DUDE ur a BEAST with traditional grip lol. I can only play match grip

  • i would like to meet you, im fourteen too, i have been for 8 or 9 years, and i think we could learn a lot from eachother. wait, that sounded really creepy

  • good job :D i play good as well

  • sweet, good job man

  • wish it was better quality....nice though..keep it up

  • Why is it that there always are people who needs to write comment's that are so low so mean. com one the guy is 14 and he is drumming very good.

i did not hear any mistakes.

i am playing the drums now for 1/2 year and i wish i was that goo.

keep drumming my friend. keep drumming

  • crazy how much of an asshole some people can be like there jealous he did pretty damn well regardless of his age, the point is that he has not been playing long, and who cares how he holds the stick seems to work just fine with him, think of it like this assholes if this was your kid would you tell him he sucks? or let someone else tell em that, why tell a 14 year old he suck when someday if he keeps on it he may be saying you suck all you douche bags get a life wheres all your great videos?

  • Don't listen to these assholes you can drum very well for being 14 and playing for 2 years

  • You are all pathetic.... honestly? You want to tell me you could all play this after two years? Give me a break...

  • its sucks!

  • obviously if you play drums you are just a pounder if youve never heard of traditional grip

  • @MrPuma96 You're an idiot. It's called traditional style.

  • er spielt immer noch besser als ich^^;)

    4 Sterne!!^^

  • THAT IS NOT HARD TO PLAY!!!!!!

  • Not always about difficulty. It sounds good and it's improvisation.

  • Gooks can't play drums... wait

  • dont listen t0 others y0u are great!!

you are playing with the traditional way and i strongly think that there arent many kids on your age or even bigger who can play this way and so good!! not even me!! (16) keep working and good job!!!

  • Wow you play in traditional style? Damn, i never could get my hand position the right way. Hell, i can't even get my sticks to stop sliding out of my hands

  • very clean

  • see this is what youtube is about not making negative comments like u suck ur a fat ass get a life i like it out of these ten comments.due u rock and ur really good

  • What sticks are you using in this video?Great job!

  • hey thanks matt. I'm using Vic Firth American Custom SD4 Combo's (wood tip) and am still using them today. they feel great, a little bit thinner, but I like the sound and feel they produce, especially on the ride cymbal. thanks for watching!

  • my school has the same kit it is so nice

  • dont rly like ur bass drum sound, but ur pretty good (its a nice bass drum tho, just sayin retune it and throw a pillow or two in there, it sounds so much better)

  • set up that other bass drum and have a double bass lol

  • I have to agree with richiexp. your pogo sticking is amateur at best. also, Jonathan Han, you're pretty good. I must say, at 14 yrs old, i was the annual unicycle town champion. i soon hope to post my video of me drumming when i was ten yrs old. it doesnt compare to you but i hope to someday be as good as you are. anyways, keep on rockin!

  • SSWWEEEETT

  • talented for sure !

  • @asphixa thank you!

  • what a shit!

  • well done man

  • shut up dicks!!! why so negative? this kid is doing well and hes really good so leave it. he may not be as good as some people but atleast he has a hobbie and something worshwhile going on, atleast hes achieving something!

  • fagg just cause ur weiners only 2 inches

  • The fuck are you dude? Do you even play drums? And honestly, look and the bullshit videos you put of you of in your unicycle. You probably like having a rod near your ass at all time, fucking CHEEZface. The only cheez to your face is your boyfriend's cum you fucking dillweed.

  • i've been pogo-sticking for 17 years and many have said i've got "it." trust me, kid- you don't have 'it.' and my gay partner, jungeun, has been unicycling for 12 years in the professional super rainbow circuit and is a 34-time defending town champion. he has seen your clips and knows that you are cheating with that whimpy-5000 model unicycle. and even with that, you stink. stink like rotten bleu cheese. again. get pissed on r. kelly.

  • he's probably self-taught like me. Hes really good.

  • Agree. People come in here expecting to see some incredible mind blowing video, but just the same with guitar vids, people forget the technique used, the endless hours of practice, and the determination it takes to be good.

He's a great drummer, certainly much better then most big time band drummers out there.

  • @JessStriker1034 drums aree easy...

  • do you play the drums daimeun? i've been told he drums are one of the hardest instruments to master because of the versatility

  • yeah just started x mas and there pretty easy.

  • what kinda kit did you get? I'm a drummer so yeah... you gotta practice... then it will be easier than if you have never played the kit b4.

  • ion 120v ( electric due to my mom not wanting a lot of noise.)

  • I agree, most people can just sit down at the set and play a basic beat, but for guitar and piano you actually have to know the chords and where exactly to place your fingers, etc. whereas with drumming you just kinda hit things :P I guess the hardest part, while starting off is the coordination.

  • @JonathanHan7 well you do have a point, drumming can be easy. but the drums is just as important as any other instrument. every instrument in a band accents one another. plus, the drums gotta keep a beat, so you gotta learn good timing when you play, and not just go crazy the whole time on it. and you are right about the coordination part. when i first started playing i could hardly even keep the base and snare goin at a steady pace. now, i like to say im rockin it out

  • @JonathanHan7 yeah playing guitar is easy for alot of people but for me it was easy and i wanna do drum for you were they quite easy?

  • @MasterFoMagic yeah, drums came pretty naturally to me. Not sure why, none of my family members are musical, but one day after church service, I just sat down at the drum set and started playing a basic beat and coming up w/ a few different simple fills and stuff. I guess that's how I started and learned on my own by watching videos of dave weckl, gadd, colaiuta, and other drummers on technique and things like that. Took me awhile to develop my own feel and style, but it's worth it.

  • Your drumming story is exactly like mine!

  • @JonathanHan7 thank you! yeah, I was using clear emperor's w/ rings on 'em at the time.. I didn't really know how to tune back then. but I'm using 12" and 14" toms now

  • @daimeun32347 not really actually because since there arent that many options on drums its hard to come up wit somethin new, n good.

  • @daimeun32347 drums are easy if u want to suck, drum can be very challenging to solo because a lot people think drum solos are boring and to grab their attention to watch a drum solo is hard... drums gets a lot of crap for being easy, have u ever played? if u have u probably played for a day and found out how to play back & in black and thought u were the shit..

  • @daimeun32347 ha... ha... HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAAHAHHAHHAHAHAAHHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHHAHHAHAHAAHH AHAHA HA HA...

oh dear, you crack me up...

  • @daimeun32347 i disagree?

sure u can sitdown and play maybe a simple beat?

but id like to have you try on the spot, bassa nova, swing, maybe even speedmetal

something with a complicated rhythm that involves more than simply hitting a cymbal and drum skins

  • @XXXMusicXXXMeXXX once you have simple rhythm and hand eye as well a decent memory you can do it. Of course it takes some practice.

  • Cool drum set.. .

  • Nice job!

  • wow!!you're very good!!

  • actually, some sonor drums are good, not all them are, i think these sound fairly decent due to the fact this is recorded from a camera and is not miced.

I like your use of syncipation. It gives it a sense of flow.

  • nice. a great change of pace from all the 'blast-beat' solos on here. you're amazing accurate for having only played for 2 years.

  • That was cool.
