  • getting the pink camo one for my gf. hope she likes it

  • @RussianBear5OOO the hello kitty walther! :D

  • @HandgunOnlyGuy haha yepp

  • Hi Nutn, great review. You are spot on, this pistol has a lot of problems. I was warned about components breaking on it by a Walther expert. If you were looking for a quality Walther, look no further than the Walther TPH (made in Germany) that has a great history with the CIA/SEALS and other Governments.

  • How much do these run?

  • @mgarza1335 Round 300

  • Cause of death, underestimating

  • My favorite gun to carry when I can't carry a gun.

  • How is the noise on this gun as compared to a regular bolt action 22?

  • I've been looking to get a rimfire/.22 gun for a while now; strictly for recreational purposes (plinking and the like)

Living in Nevada, do I need to first obtain a licence or certificate before I make a purchase?

  • @shanpowar No you don't. The great state of Nevada only has a CCW permit. Only thing you have to do is get yourself to a gun store. If you live in Clark County you have to register handguns after purchase. Pretty much all the stores will do it for you.

  • Love the p22, sub 2in 3 round groups at 15 yards. one of the best 22 pistols in my opinion.

  • Even though the P22 looks like a short action recoil type firearm its actually blow-back. The barrel doesn't move and I hear the slide has a good lock up so the sights should always have the same point of aim; but I do get what your saying about making shots with those pesky little sights. In theory it should be mechanically capable of bullets through bullets at 25 yards but I really don't like those sights either. Also not a good track record way to many bad failure videos on you-tube.

  • This gun is terrible... Blew up in my hand, and sliced my hand open... Absolutely totaled, could've killed me... And Walter / Smith & Wesson refuse to replace it...

Oh, did I mention I'm 13 and almost lost my hand because of this hunk of junk?

  • @WeAreTwoDoorsDown If you lost your hand, then how did you write this comment so perfectly? And if you're 13, then why doesn't your grammar suck?

  • @charlesburton95 You are an embarrasment to society... Does the word "almost" not make sense to you? And because I pay attention in school.

  • @WeAreTwoDoorsDown I must have misread your original comment, and I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. As for the grammar bit, congratulations, you're one of the few. It was my mistake, and I apologize.

  • @WeAreTwoDoorsDown Did you use the right ammo, check to see that the barrel wasn't plugged, make sure the slide was in place, make sure that the gun fed the shell all the way.

  • @TheLeadspreader Yeah... everything was fine... it just failed to fully chamber the round. So when it fired, the round was partly out of the chamber. And with no barrel to brace the casing, BOOM!

Hopefully walther wants to replace it...

  • @WeAreTwoDoorsDown Ahh I see, I'm shocked that S&W won't replace it, seems pretty ridiculous that they wouldn't want to stand beside there work.

  • @WeAreTwoDoorsDown You are full of crap.

  • @WeAreTwoDoorsDown Hmmm you have two hands in all your videos including one from one week ago.

Quit lying dude, it will make you piss the bed.

  • @Kylef7735 the word almost has no meaning to you, does it?

  • @WeAreTwoDoorsDown shutup kiddy, youre full of crap.

  • @Kylef7735 whatever you want to think... I'm not ur mom. I'm not gonna tell you what to believe...

  • Will it kill a muzzie (point blank)?

  • Hi, lefty here! Can anyone recommend a good subcompact, ambidextrous, semi-auto pistol? All i'm getting on the internet is this one and the Charter Arms one. Great review! Thanks!

  • I think the Beretta .22 would be a better choice than this for carry

  • this pistol was used by Sueng Hui Cho in the Virginia Tech Massacre alongside with a Glock 19. He killed 32 people in the Massacre

  • Can anyone tell me if these things are accurate? Thanks.

  • Lol, I love how he thinks it not a good self defense gun partly in the fact it is a .22 LR. Many agency's, including our own, use these guns for target assassinations. This gun can kill just as easily than any other. Why do you need a .45 ACP for self defense. It will blow a hole through your target, into the next house, and kill your neighbor.

  • @Darythd1 "your A DICK AND YOU NEED to change atm!!!!!" How is that necessary?

  • I am 13 and my first gun was a .357 it got kick but I just got use to it

  • how much money does this cost

  • 4:08 kinda of jumping ahead again...I like the fact that you do this..brief extra info.

  • GSG 1911 or Walther P22? These are my two probables for my next purchase. If anyone could help me decide i would appreciate it

  • would this be good to buy for my kid to use when we go to the range because the 9mm is to much hes 12

  • @mrgunandrun , 9mm's are NOT too much for 12 year olds. The first gun I EVER shot was when I was 9yrs old. It was a 9mm Glock 17 Gen.4. It does have quite a bit of kick, but not enough to hit you in the head, no matter how old you are. The recoil is no problem. But, if your indoors, the sound of the gun, even with the earplugs in, are loud enough to make your nose and forehead vibrate.

  • The Walther P22 is my favorite gun of the 21st century.

  • heh I had the same problem within a few week of owning it (brand new) I shipped mine back to Walther tho its been going for 4 yrs now since then no problems took a little longer but it works now alot better then my sister-in-laws' who got hers at the same time same store. Carter Shooting Supplies is a great store to go to if your in Chattanooga. also I find no problem getting good groups farther down range, but then again its been my main plinker for the last 4 to 5 yrs. + it matches my p99.

  • Hopefully Nutn or Veri reads this.

I'm interested to see if Nutn has any experience with, or opinion about, the SP22 M2, Walther's 6" barrel gun, designed specifically for target shooting. I'd be very interested in a "table top" review of that model, as I'm considering purchasing it.

  • @13heavymetal Lets be REALLY real here. His job takes him into some of the worst neighborhoods in America on a regular basis. What you don't know about Nutn could fill a book. So much for what YOU think. -- Veri

  • @nutnfancy Well, in that case, I apologize, and rescind my comment. Looks like you have a very good reason.

  • shot this at the range today it was third time shooting im 11 i hope to shoot alot more

  • the 2011 p22 indicated by the BB on the feed has the ammo feeding problem fixed. I have shot 3000 rounds plus through mine no problems yet.

  • I just shot one today and I would really recommend one

  • Funner isn't a word nutnfancy

  • @carefulsquirrel

You needed to put a comma after you wrote, "word."

  • I just bought one for a fishing gun I don't liek carrying my .40 when I am fishing and on the move up and down river.. the gun fit my hand well for a small frame but it's perfect for it's purpose

  • i had a piece of mine break and fall out when i took it apart for cleaning, and it shoots better.. weird?

  • VTECH.

  • I have airsoft version and it is the exact same size as the real one. I wanna get this gun when I grow up.

  • can you replace the sights like with a truglo or something

  • Thanks for the info

  • u should do a kel-tec pmr 30 review

  • boooooorring

  • Do you have feeding issues? Ive heard it has too strong of a spring and fails to strip a new round.

  • Just went to buy my first gun today and I really liked the look of the P22. They actually had a super cool digi camo version of the P22 at the shop, but holding it, I realized how TINY this gun is. I have small hands for a bloke, but this was too small for me. So be warned. I eventually bought a used Ruger Mk2. Thanks for the review though.

  • lol!! use something cool as a pointer.. lmao!!!

  • lol!! use something cool as a pointer.. lmao!!!

  • A Beretta Neos at $249 for standard 6" barrel is a really good choice for range and target use. I just finished my first 1,000 rds and did not have a single failure of any kind. Shoots cheap ammo, under 3 cents per rnd.

  • Just wanted to update my P22. About 500 rounds and no issues. A couple of Failure to feeds, but it might be the cheap ammo. My wife is ready to step up in caliber, but this has been a fun and great purchase. I can't get it away from my wife at the range. Only complaint is that it seems almost fragile. A Model 17 or Ruger is supreme quality, but this gun wins in the fun factor. The P22 will get alot of range time.

  • Bought this for my wife. She LOVES it, and it's been a good trainer. About 500 rounds so far... so good. Having a good time with and plan to shoot it too pieces...

  • just picked up a P22 LOVE it fun gun

  • Hell man you can get a junk phoenix arms 22 or 25 and hit your target every time. Why it's a small pistol. At 15 yd. I have 10 people here at my pistol club.sorry man you got us all lrao,Rolling big time. PZ man if you don't know what your talking about.Pz don't talk about it. For a 22 walther is one of the best in the world just like their 38cal. I see you just like being on y/t..God bless.

  • Wife found the Model 17 S+W easy to shoot but heavy. The Ruger Mark 3 was great but heavy and single purpose. As a trainer/plinker for a future CCW choice. Love the laser that came with it, and within 15 yards is accurate enough and a blast to shoot. No issues. Love .22 because it is not intimidating for my new shooter wife and is a lot of cheap trigger time. I didn't blink at the cost because we will shoot it tons... Doesn't compare in quality to Rugers or S+W but makes up for it in FUN.

  • Awesome video. I just go the new P22Q series. Walther redesigned the P22 and the new P22 just came out yesterday. Check out my video to see the Walther P22Q

  • hey nut!!!! i can shoot 3 and half inch groups at 15 yards with my p22

  • Comment removed

  • The first time i shot my P22 i was hitting cigarette packs at 25 yards with ease, and the only other handguns i have owned/shot are a CZ 52 and Beretta 92fs. That being said, keep up the good reviews and shooting vids nutn, love your stuff!

  • After a few years and a few thousands rounds through my p22. It's still a performer when fed good quality .22lr ammo, like the CCI ammo. The interchangeable front sight has a slight tendency to come off on its own now though.

  • Will you do please a review on the Walther PK380?? I am a woman who is considering it for conceal carry and I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on it.... Thanks!

  • hey nutn, would like to see a tabletop of the walther p22's main competitor, The sig sauer mosquito. being as you are big sig fan, I think you will really dig ergos being as that its 90% the size of a p226

  • Dude, You have no idea what you're talking about! I have had mine for a couple years now and it is very accurate! I have never had any problems with my P22 either. I think the Walther P22 is a great gun for plinking. I do agree I wouldn't use it for personal defense, but all in all it's a great little gun!

  • Great gun. I own one. Used white grease on the slides and noticed the slide was "sticky" when you try to rack it with a new magazine. So now I use Ballistol Lubricant for the whole gun especially the slide. Fun gun, no jams. I use cci 40grain fmj. Buy one if you get the chance. Don't go to bass pro shop. They are crazy! They were selling this gun for 625$. You could get it new for 300$. I bought mine without the external trigger lock. Ill do a video soon. Peace.

  • People really underestimate the 22LR ... the way it bounces off bones it really tears up your insides and takes a veryyy skilled doctor to save you ...

  • @CrypticNexus777

I was just explaining this to a friend yesterday! haha

  • @kse1948 haha!

  • @CrypticNexus777 Also, in my opinion, self defense doesn't always have to be lethal.

  • @CrypticNexus777 He didn't rip on the 22LR caliber he just pointed out the fact this particular gun has mechanical issues. And you know nothing about ballistics. Bullets won't bounce around your insides off bone. The bullet will expand or tumble then stop or over penetrate you watch to many cartoons.

  • I plan on grabbing a P22 in a year when I turn 21. My hands are small enough the gun fits me like a glove, want something mostly for entertainment, and the Ruger can't touch it aesthetically, IMO ;)

  • i have had one of these for well over a year and have fired well over a thousand rounds of random ammo and had no failures at all. no jams, no ftf's. nothing.

  • i use mine incase i ever have to put down a rabid pop can and make it a example to its friends......lol ,also and i have noticed the same problem with it jaming because of cheaper ammo.

  • sig mosquito 22lr is a better gun ??????

  • @mmdghr No

  • hey nutn love the videos, I understand that you have a ton on your plate but I would love to see a review on the p99.

  • I just got this gun today as a Christmas gift. It started out shooting low, I changed to the #2 front sight and put two shots through the same hole in the bulls eye at around 10 yards. I am pleased with the accuracy. I did have one failure to feed. It was cheap ammo and I may not have been holding it tight enough. It should be a good plinking gun, I hope I stay as happy with it as I am now.

  • @Nutnfancy, please review the Walther P99.

  • Yres its a plinkler...nuff said...it does what it is suppose to do.....so what else do you need??? Give the gun the worth aned be done with it !!!!!

  • Just shot my first gun today for my 15th birthday. This was the gun I shot, and I love it. I might have to ask one for Christmas!

  • @BIPICY gotta be 21, buddy. stick with .177 air pistols for now.

  • @marlo916 Well my dad was asking me what kind of gun I would like for target shooting. My brother was in competitions down here at fairs and such and they used .22 rifles so he did end up getting me the p22 just for getting a feel for the power of the gun. It's a really neat little gun, I can hit a tin can on a fence post from about 7 yards with it. Getting better!

  • @marlo916 you don't have to be 21 to shoot .22

  • @pupdog2pa you're right, you don't have to be 21 to shoot a .22 pistol, but you do need to be 21 to legally own a .22 pistol

  • @marlo916 In SOME states. Not everywhere.

  • hey man good video i was very worried about buying this gun after watching many reviews but my wife really wanted it. we took it out to see how it holds up and we live in the desert 29 palms and it happen to b a small sand storm that day but the gun held up really well, shot like crazy and no jams, miss fires, or feeding problems, i guess they corrected the problems, im very impressed with this gun

  • And btw I did take the selectors off/ disable the lever safety.

I actually like the P22 now Lmao. It just needs considerable modification, and then it great.

    **considerable modification**

  • I bought my p22 about 5 months ago and have put at least 800 rounds through it and havent had any problems. I use your average federal brick ammo and it shoots great. As goes with any .22 it gets real dirty after use, good cleaning and lube and it shoots fantastic.

  • I'm a centimeter away from taking off the selectors, grinding the selector bar, and epoxying the holes. I'm very close. I am just very frustrated by the original design.

  • @762full i have a tip TAKE CARE OF YOUR GUNS. CLEAN AND OIL AND WIPE IT DOWN AFTER EVERY USE WITH FIREARM OIL

  • @97sniper

This is not acceptable. Either it is a weapon that is ready at all times or it isn't.

    It is that simple.

  • You are airsoft? please don't respond to any comments on this page then.

The only weapons I concern myself with are the actual type.

  • I'm not a target/sport shooter

  • Update:

I have also removed the magazine safety and its two springs because after posting here I realized they were also unnecessary. There are a number of parts in this gun that are not needed, are one is better off without them.

The p22 was designed by an Austrian (I forget his name) and my theory is that the Walther people made him put all this crap into the p22.

Despite weaknesses, the P22 is compact, threaded, and can have upgraded capacity.

Better than others I can think of.

  • I've had one exactly like this for about 2 years. It was a newly made model, not one of the first few years manufacture, so most of the "bugs" got worked out. I really like it and find it to be reasonably accurate for what it is. I've been using wal-mart Federal bulk .22 with no problems until you get to about 500 rounds per shooting session. Then it needs slide/barrel removal with a complete scrub down.

  • I will also add that I removed the internal trigger safety, along with the associated springs. I think such things are pathetic.

I also left out the spring for the bolt (slide) stop lever as it is not unnecessary and I don't like unnecessary things.

I also increased the mag capacity by cutting the follower. Leave the metal mag pin because you need it for feeding, as well as the bolt hold back mechanism.

    And one more thing.

Nutnfancy, I dare you to 100% strip your P22.

    I seriously dare you.

  • I got my P22 from the factory in parts (don't ask, another story), so I assembled it from a 100% field strip. I repeat, 100% strip.

I was swearing and screaming in a homicidal rage for days before getting it together. I dont like the Zinc slide. I also don't know what I'm going to do with the p22.

The only real weapons are the rugged ones. Glock, Russian Weapons, AUG, Tavor, etc.

    If you like the M16, SA80, -possibly the P22 I don't know yet-, or 1911, then you're a (pussy)

    There, I said it

  • i had a p22 .. and i thought because i payed 375$ 4 it it would be as accurate as a ruger.not at all.i couldn't hit shit.. it jammed ..and i did not like the way it shot.so i took it back to gun shop about 4 days later and sold it 50$ cheaper....what junk

  • I have fallen in love with my Walther P22. I havent had any troubles with ammo, or jammin yet, and I am using remington 22LR hollow points. I enjoy it is a first handgun, ammo is extremely cheap, and highly accurate for in the range.

  • nice review keep up the good work

  • You know what ? I have the CO2 .177 version of this gun and the quality and workmanship that went into a air pistol is top notch all the way.I wish the Airgun industry would take a que from Walthers.BTW.I have the real ones as well. NUTnFANCY.......................YOU ROCK !

  • Any chance of a Walther P99 QA or SA review on here? Maybe you can borrow Sootch's P99? I like longer in depth reviews. THANKS MAN KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!

  • The five inch barrel models do not have a compensator rather just a wieght

  • Oh I'm sorry, were the last three numbers on the catalog number 007? Coincidence?!

  • @elijahpr Reference to the PPK? I think so... :D

  • Got this same model (military) for my wife she loves it. Functions flawlessly.

  • could you discuss prices in your next vids? thanks

  • @michealati He tries to stay away from discussing prices because there is so much fluctuation between retailers and so many price changes over the years.

  • one of my favorite pistols of all time.My favorite .22 pistol....followed very closly by the ruger but the ruger is more of a target pistol i find the p22 to be more of an all rnd fun pistol

  • Hmm the P22 looks similar to my P99 but has almost nothin common with it, except the mag release (im not into the stuff but maybe its the 2nd gen or somethin like that) because my P99 has a longer slide release and the safety is on the upside (u can push it as a button)

  • Why don't they make .22 Magnum for better stopping power?

  • @CharlieDoan Because this isnt a gun for stopping stuff, its just for shooting.

  • @CharlieDoan they do have a .22 Magnum round

  • Vs Neos U22 ???

  • I'm looking for better rear sights have you found some that are not as wide? Thanks

  • I disagree on shooting and the sights. New sights are tight, and front sight post is all you need at 50 meters max.

  • Good video. Good Reviews, definitely helps people out.

  • nutnfancy! great vids, lots of good info. im still having a hard time trying to choose between the p22 and a ruger mkIII. at this point im leaning toward the MKIII only because the out the door price at my local gun store is what the P22 is going for before tax. should price in this category be the deciding factor? can anyone else provide any input?

  • the guy who shot up viriginia tech used this gun

  • I got this gun...it's a lot of fun...light, easy to shoot, almost no recoil, accurate...I've put like thousands of rounds through it...CCI minimags are the best...almost no jams...

  • you should try making a review on a sig moskito beat this p22 anytime

  • @green58714 cept price, which would defeat the point of even getting a .22

  • This pistol is so much fun. I've put about 5000 rounds through it. It's very finicky with it's ammo selection. keep it clean, and you'll have a lot of fun with it.

  • thank you for your post of the walther p22 have been thinking about getting one for my wife for a target pistol you video has helped me with my decision i am going to go get it monday i hope

  • have been thinking of gitting that exact pistal for my wife thanks for your post

  • As a first plinking, varmit hunting handgun would you recommend this over a sig sauer mosquito? Thanks!

  • @TheSOGDog get a luger in the origional 7mm variant.

  • @nw00738 you are a dumbass

  • @h4xor27 Why im offering advice that would give this guy one epic pistol.

  • @nw00738 sorry replied to wrong person

  • @h4xor27 Ah ok no problem

  • This was very helpful, after watching this I've made up mind to buy one.

  • Inaccurate but fun pistols. Nutnfancy is right: go with a Ruger or Browning for your first (or only) .22 handgun.

However, if your defensive handgun is a Walther P99, then it may make sense to get a P22 as a cheap trainer.

  • i never noticed how big your hands were untill i watched his vid. dude your tumb is almost as big as the grip!

Think shrink Mr. Nutnfancy, think shrink lol JP buddy. i got tiny paws.

  • my dad was looking at this didnt really know the brand so hes gunna probably buy a ruger stainless steel mark iii and i live in spokane my family has a house out by the border and its fun to shoot our 22. long rifle and my dads colt 45. anaconda

  • your vids are awesome

  • i live in spokane and iv never heard of the spokane rifle club :(

  • Would you recommend this pistol as a starter gun for somebody who would like to get into target shooting? I don't have enough money for the 1911's. At the very most I can spend $450 for every thing including shipping.

  • @TimToddler Dont pay for shipping, just go to your local gun store. Chances are they have a P22 in stock. I got mine fore $330 lightly used. The target model is about $50 more.

  • @TimToddler Dont pay for shipping, just go to your local gun store. Chances are they have a P22 in stock. I got mine fore $330 lightly used. The target model is about $50 more. CCI ammo is my favorite

  • @etucker5007 Larry's Pistol and Pawn is selling them for 269$. Not sure how Larry's sells their guns so cheap, but, I guess thats why they are Ruger's #1 dealer, and like S&W's number 2 dealer.

  • @Flatline74 I couldn't find the P22 on Larry's Pistol and Pawn. But I did see the Sig Mosquito for $299, that's a great price.

  • @etucker5007 /watch?v=nEFW3hGkyYU&playnext=1&videos=1hUaTDe6lwM , this is the commercial they had on youtube and up till 2 weeks ago that sale was still running. 329 or 269 its still a fun little pistol!

  • Two of the best days in my life, the day I bought mine and the day I sold it. Which was 3 days later. FTF from hell!

  • I like the gun, Have one myself and shot a couple different brands of 22 longs through it and does well so far. Seems like the higher f.p.s. the better though.

  • Why in the world is this gun on the Chicago Unsafe weapons roster. Of course there should not be a list at all. I just bought one love the little gun so far.

  • @andreas1487 lol same here

  • I like the looks, but am worried about the durability. I might have to check on out as a fun .22 to practice with when I am not using my main conceal carry gun.

  • Are you going to do review of CZ 75D by any chance ?? Thanks.

  • Jesus, these new semi-auto handguns are UGLY. Whatever happened to sleek design like the original Walther PP, or anything from Beretta? Are ALL handguns based on the homely glock building block design?

  • i got 1 and i thing is realy nice gun never problem

  • i wana buy one of these

  • i like this pistol ! :) its simple , but it has everything you need ! :P

  • I found the remington hollow pts work best in mines. Really nice pistol!

I use it on halibut all the time. Workd really well

  • can u do a review on the Walther P99?

  • @GRIFFINSUNITE I would recommend a Glock 17. That's just my opinion though.

  • fun gun, I have one.

  • pretty nice and compacted, the leaver is on a nice position, dont see a downside on that.

  • i shot this gun....it kicks like a bitch!

  • @socomassassin

Was it .22? Guns that shoot a .22 round have barely any kick at all.
