"Sexism" POV aside, here in San Fran I haven't met a single person into gymnastics (men or women) in any way, it's always about the "mainstream" sports which seem to be "in season" all year and have events broadcasted frequently enough to keep the average attention span. In the US in general, all we get is biased coverage from NBC US, we get nothing anywhere else in the world like other WC in Europe, Asia...the entire World Champs if we're lucky. In 2010 half the worlds was shelved for football!

This side of the sport needs more attention! At the most recent world championships, all everyone could talk about was about the top two FEMALE all-around finishers and how one was robbed and how one deserved it and etc, while on the men's side, was the best modern gymnast from both the men's and women's side of the sport won his third all-around title in a row and gets RELATIVELY NO press coverage or hype! It's a load of BS! MAG has developed worlds more than WAG and no one cares!

Thank god for the male gymnasts, because they populate the cirque world with those talents!!! Can't speak to the issue of European sport, but here in Canada we certainly celebrate that kind of talent (although, I am willing to admit that there is always the caveat, "oh, if only they could play hockey, too, they would be perfect". LOL. BTW, decent editing job, even with the speed ups to match the music, but nicely done.

In my country,Germany, gymnastics became a bit more popular when Fabian Hambüchen became HB World Champ.Now,many people know his name and that he's a gymnast, but they don't know what that really means. TV also only broadcasts Olympics/Worlds/European and they even cancled broadcasting Worlds09 when Fabian injured himself. I was so mad, thank God there is the internet! :)
