  • Do you have an instrumental for the tracks?

  • Ha, ha, ha; great!

  • utterly brilliant

  • "Left wing, Skaro United"

    This is fucking amazing!

  • I love this well done mate!!!!

  • Superb video but the regional accent tends to detract from the quality, I know you cant help how you speak but a clear BBC english accent is realy what it needed, apart from that well done

  • Glad you've kept the original version posted. You might still be getting a call from Megadodo Publications.

  • This is pretty weird since Douglas Adams wrote for Doctor Who in the late 70's. But anyway, this video is great!

  • Mostly perfect.

  • Does this mean daleks were in hhgtg?

  • Nice work, thanks!

  • mark three war bastard, awesome

  • PERPETUAL what if we cryogenically freeze someone throw them in earth hook them to a mega satellite based internet kept people around for innovation, imagination, and renovations , spreading satellites across the universe always keeping every technology the true knowledge. Maybe we' de master the universe and go on to the next. Nothing could kill it all we need it multi-terrestrial planets, satellites, continous innovation and up keep. IN short the human race could be perpetual.

  • The Hitch Hikers Guide has a Geordie accent... ha ha... that should be included in the book......

... almost as funny a Cheryl Cole on a Loreal advert...

  • lol, sorry bout the bump.

  • I love it as it merged two of my favorite British productions into one.

  • Mark Three War Bastard, that pretty much says it all about Daleks.

  • 6983 M ^2 = 487,622,890,000 M Earth 6983 SK M^2 = 135,191,249 SK M

  • funny as hell

  • Hysterical :) Love it

  • PS - this was really very cool and I looooooove you. (But don't tell my fridge)

  • Arg, how can you always tell an idiot? they always try and make a joke about daleks and stairs!!

Can nobody read? Think? Use a keyboard? Its never going to be funny to mention stairs as a problem for Daleks when daleks have always been able to fly for fuck sake.

  • @sodiumnoir Always? Umm, only since the late 1980's - "Remembrance of the Daleks" was the first serial in which they were capable of levitation; You need to research your Dalek history a bit.... - DAMN! You've gone and turned me, a perfectly normal and rational chick-magnet, into a nerdy, cardigan-wearing Doctor Who bore!!! AAAARRRGGHHHH! >NOW I HAVE TO EXTERMINATE MYSELF! EXTERMINATE!<

  • @KrillLiberator actually you are mistaken. They were first shown to be flying in rememberence of the daleks but they have always flown as Terry nation invented them that way. Since day one they have been hovering and just because the lack of special effects meant that the models used to present them are on (hidden) wheels, the actual dalek is supposed to be hovering. The ability to fly/hover and ignore surface and terrain is how they manage to move about on Skaros. Me, Chick magnet & nerd

  • This is brilliant. Utterly brilliant.

  • Full marks, and I was one of those who WAS beginning to panic!

  • u just needed to get the audio in time with the wording but BRILLIANT!

  • Pretty spot on.

  • Awesome graphics

  • The Hitch hiker's guide to the galexy has this to say about daleks,

If you see one, your in the wrong SiFi searys.

  • Just needs Peter Jones to do the voice. :)

  • spack off

  • Bravo!

  • Good. Wish the narrator wouldnt sound like he is mumbling. Good nonetheless

  • Absolutely brilliant! Wonderfully done! Off to hear the new version with the different voice, but this one stands tall as-is. :-)

  • Mark 3 war bastard!

I laughed alot at that! This is really great thanks, just the voice needs a tad more enthusiasm, i will check out this revised version :D

  • very clever

  • Mark one travel machine.

    That's just wrong.

  • Oh, this is brilliant. Do a cyberman one!

  • Not too bad though the narration needs a bit more oomph buuut I see below that you posted a new version? I'll go check it out. Cheers, mate!

  • I did not panic

  • LOL nice work.!!!

  • Needs updating now we've seen the war bastards "ELEVATE!" and also, now they've developed into multi coloured shower gel bottles. What is WITH that, btw??!

  • Awesome!

  • Mark two travel machine FTW!

  • good video and all, but the voice sorta depressed me....

  • Mk3 war bastard lol. I like it

  • lololol.

  • niceee :D

  • Nice one!

  • SMASHING!

  • The voice could use a bit of an edge, and the bit about Davros being a football player before his accident is a BIT pointless, but in general you've got an interesting bit of work here.

  • Funny on the wording, nailed the visual style, what it needs for perfection is a bit more edge to the voice.

  • @SeaScrabbler See the revised version on my channel.

  • This is Damn Funny! Good Job!

  • an excellent parody blend of two of my favourite BBC sci-fi shows

  • That was TOTALLY AMAZING!!!

Very funny and very true to the TV show. Wonderful!

  • This is pure genius!

  • Brilliant

  • Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so,

    Very deep

you should send that in to the Reader's Digest. They've got a page for people like you

no but seriously excellent work perhaps the television series could be completed form where it finished up to 'and another thing' .

  • "People assume time is a straight line, but it's not. Its more like a big, tangly, tangled... ball... of... time... stuff."

This wonderfully hilariously brilliant, but the new one was in fact very much more hitchiker-y.

  • awesome!

  • Very creative and amusing. My only complaint is that your voice is a bit quiet, so when there isn't text for your dialogue I have trouble hearing/understanding you.

  • this offically rocks! I see the vogons were defeated and the guide was reborn like a somewhat drunk phoenix which just flew in to an oil refinery that laughs at health & safety by buinding it on yelllowstone super volcanos cauldera ... not that I made a phoenix drunk & sent it to a alternate realty to see if it could survive a supervolvcano erupting underneath it as i'd only do it in a circumstance where such madness was waiting to happen ... Eh .. I mean ... Whats that over there!*points**runs*

  • Brilliant!

  • @golightly313 Peter Jones was the original guide, and he's dead.

  • Well said, but there again many people aren't familiar with anything other than the film and maybe the books.

Anyway, this is brilliant - have you considered sending an email to Rod Lord?

  • Excellent work! Top notch! If you don't work for the Beeb, you should!

  • DON'T PANIC

  • This is awesome. Maybe you should do some on people and places of Who.

  • A little odd but nonetheless entertaining.

I applaud this guy's geeky creativity!

  • One "newbie" was actually arguing with another newbie on here once about the Daleks, and said that they were created by the Emperor Dalek. Gah, I'm thinking of posting a trivia quiz online - "Are YOU a true Doctor Who fan?" It would be 20 or so questions covering the entire series from '63 up to today. For example, "The name 'Dalek' was given to for what reason? a) It sounds cool. b) DW lore has never said c) It is an anagram for 'Kaled' d) The TLs gave them this name cuz it means "Evil Death"

  • Well done - the callout of the "anatomy" of the Dalek here is the correct one - word for word what the Doctor Who Technial Manual says. Its little things like this that were overlooked in the new series and ruffled Who fans' feathers - there is no indication here that a Dalek's sensory globes double as a self-destruct mechanism. An the Kaleds are not in the "head" unit, like the one was in "Dalek" with No. 9. Finally, according to this and the manual, there is no evidence of flight cabability.

  • Absolutely brilliant! Pure Genious! I love both of these series, and this filmmaker very successfully melds the two together in a delightful symphony! I sent it to all my facebook friends!

  • Masterfully done, a huge achievement, seriously funny and a perfect match to the source material. Bravo!

    Ade

  • Lol. this is awesome. As other people have said though, a bit too quiet. speak up a bit man, you sound fine. :P

Any plans to do any other docor who villains? The Cybermen are always worth the piss taking out of them.

  • This is AMAZING. Utterly brilliant.

  • Your voice is excellent. However, please don't be afraid to speak louder. It seems like you were trying to not rouse anyone else in the house.

Seriously - this is many grades of awesome.

  • It's vids like this that make all those hours searching YouTube worth it. :)

  • This is a cool video and a brilliant idea, but unfortunately the text sounds nothing like HGTG.

Still, it's kinda awesome! I loved the graphics.

  • This is rocking muchly. thankyou!

A request though... more Guide style graphics on, well, anything at all really. (or maybe a hint guide to encourage more of the same from others? :)

  • You have combined my two favourite things and therefore I put it to you that you are awesome

Well done on a brilliant vid :D

  • My life is now complete.

  • OMG, it's brilliant!

  • Wonderfully done. But where's my bag of peanuts?

  • Zarquon's knees, this is hoopy! This video really knows where it's towel is.

  • This is my new favorite YouTube video.

  • Superb!

  • Fabulous graphics! I needed a good laugh, and this was just the ticket.

  • A really, really lovely thing!

  • And I *like* the voice! Pleasingly understated, I'd say.

  • And purposely so. I don't normally talk like this. :)

I was trying to do 'understated bemusement', I think. I just sound bored! Haha.

    Oh well, *not an actor*.

  • simply fabulous! love the disco physics!

  • That is so epic! it's the very best!!

Thankyou so much for making it!

    You win!

  • Probably the best thing I'm gonna see all day!!! Brilliant!

  • 'Probably'?

    :)

  • Brilliant. I do voice overs and would love to record something for this film!!! AMAZING!!

  • cool

  • Brilliantly realised. My hat goes off to you sir.

Though I do agree, a new 'voice of the book' is needed.

Keep em coming. And I hope you can find someone to be the 'voice' ;)

  • Had me in snitches nearly the whole time. Somewhere Mr Nation and Mr Adams must be grinning like loonies at your work. Love to see what the Guide would say about other DW things like the Time Lords or the Cybermen if this became a series (which I would go for).

  • Given the length of time it took, I[m not sure about a series...

I'm not ruling it out though! :)

  • Wow really professionally done - I am full of envy!

  • The frood who made this really knows where his towel is.

  • It's hanging up in the bathroom. :)

  • the visuals are great the voice isn't

  • Hello??? Sorry, I couldn't hear or understand you...but, it sure did seem sexy.

  • I reckon the problem lies with the fact that I made whilst using my excellent Phiollips headphones with bass boost, and didn't bother to try it through the speakers!

    I am sexy though.

  • Everyone's telling me to re-record the voice cos mine's rubbish, so I am investigate the prospect... :D

  • Just corner Stephen Fry after a QI taping and hand him the script. :)

  • Fantastic!!

  • Cheers Mark! I do like getting responses from people I've heard of. :)

  • Eeeeek! LOL! Thanks solid!

  • brill!

  • Absolutely wonderful! Loved every second of it, and your attention to detail is amazing! Wonderfully narrated too!

  • Brilliant work! The animation was awesome.

My sole critique would be that your voice was a little quiet and hard to make out in places. Perhaps try speaking up a little next time you record? ^^

    Otherwise, muchly enjoyable. :D

  • Brilliant!

  • clever

    well done

  • Genius! If only you could get Stephen Fry to narrate this!

  • That is some really lovely animation, really captures the style of the television series. I wasn't so keen on the narration, but the idea and text is so good it shines through it.

  • Funny! Brilliantly clever! It was just like watching the BBC series guide!

  • Cool, brilliant idea!

  • This is amazing, very funny and true to the original style. I love it.

  • a stroke of genius!

  • Great Video very well done.Amazing!

  • Outstanding, possibly one of my favourite videos on youtube!

  • lol

  • Ha! Nice!

  • That must have taken ages. Such detail.

  • Haha! Genius! Well done :)

  • Oh I LOVE the glitterball :)

  • Wonderful!!

  • Amazing! Wonderful graphics and script. Anyone who disagrees can spack off!

  • That was amazing, the animation, music was spot on for the TV series, and the writing very much Douglas Adams-esque!

    Brilliantly done!

  • I love you for this, daleks, doctor who, the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy, truly you have created the Hitchhiker's Whoniverse :D lol

  • Great fun. Well done. ***** :-)

  • Bravo that man there. Beautifully observed recreation of Rod Lord's style of graphics from the TV series of Hitchhiker's Guide.

  • Brilliant! :D
