i think it changed since season 1?since that was the first and last time someone ever got a penalty for not finishing a detour,at least from seasons ive watched

cause 24 hours is just a waste of time even saying,might as well just say instant elimination

@ulongkoror It might have, but I'm just going by what wikipedia has listed, and the only season I haven't watched is All-stars because of an intense dislike of Rob and Amber! But based on their list of AR rules, it still applies. And I see your point. Usually, the team doesn't not do the detour, they're just still doing either one side or the other long after the other teams have checked in. (Maria and Tiffany, for example.)

yea if a detour is only 4 hours like a roadblock,then teams should seriously consider that an option to take for this specific detour lol.i rather listen to justine beaver for an hour than do neither choices =(

The best way is to group them in groups of 20 and 100. Person One counts a group of 20, sets it aside in its own pile. Person 2 follows up by recounting said group to ensure it is the correct amount.

For every 5 groups of 20 that have been twice counted, the 2nd person pools them into a group of 100. It will be clear by pile size which are the 100 groups; and there will never be more than 5 twenty groups.

Methodically, it's a good system.
