As a fan of both of these ladies, I will respectfully disagree. Beyonce is the better vocalist. All I have to say is she should have left Minnie Rippleton alone. Her pitch problems with her falsetto and vibrato where obvious on the radio version of this song. While Monica is a good vocalist, beyonce I feel is better because she has more control of her voice and more range. With Beyonce you don't get that throaty strain sound when in the higher register as you do with Monica.
