A very interesting message that this animation presents: in the crush of people wanting us to be something we're not, do we lose our own identities, or do some have the power to push past the pressure and keep true to themselves?
I hate my sister for sending me this video... I watched this when i was a little girl thinking it was a cartoon and it scared my childhood... OMG a revelation on youtube! i think this is how i started hating clowns :S
i stopped the video at 35 seconds.. but im still gonna get nightmares :S:S:S:S GODDAMN UGLY CLOWN
Think of this like identity. Your parents, peers, society may all try and convince you that you are a certain person--a person they want you to be. A person may start to believe and act like a certain kind of person if he is influenced by everyone around them.
Man I remember this video. This is when I first got started in Maya in version 1.5 or something and this video was my inspiration. It's still amazing in my opinion.
Here's how I understand it: The guy isn't Bingo. The people calling him Bingo know this. But they keep calling him Bingo because they want to convince him that he's Bingo. Yelling, confusing noises and images, a pleading child, and finally money were all used to make him believe something he knows isn't true.
The very end was to show it was a psychological experiment. What's interesting is that all of their methods work in real life.
It might have been uploaded before but at least you gave Maya some credit. The SIGgraph BINGO and the 98' South-Park (Cartman) Shirts are my two favorite shirts. I forgot what year this "short" was showed but I remember how we all liked it.
P.S. I wasn't a geek and didn't stand in that 15 mile long waiting line to see George Lucas that one time he was there...
omygod i havent seen this in

I miss Eye Drops. I'm still looking for the one where a strange gothic boy creates a frankenstein-like friend to play with.

Debuted - to most, anyway - at Siggraph 98. Groundbreaking animation.
How often must a lie be repeated before it's the truth?
Germans are the master race.
The Vietnamese communists aggressed twice in the Gulf of Tonkin.
Iraq has weapons of mass destruction.
Iran is building nukes.
etc...

Flat out disturbing and genius on a lot of different levels.
'Bingo the Clowno! That's me!!!'...'NEXT.'
Worryingly true.
