I visited the Menger Hotel once. Almost every time i was alone in the elevator, it would open on a random door and nobody was there. Yet the elevator light was on in the outside. In that same elevator, I walked in to press the button to my room floor. As a pressed the button to floor 3, the floor 2 light flashed and I was taken to floor two. I never went back. I never believed in ghost but now i dont know what to think.
We stayed at the Menger for the Tea Party in April 2008. I woke from a dead sleep to an extreme hightened state of fear....I pulled the sheets over my face, like I was a kid again, scared of the dark a couple of minutes later, The sheets where pulled up over my head, and flapped up and down about 5 times quickly, like someone had the sheets plucked in their hand right above my nose and a woman's voice viciously stated," what about MY situation!!!"

I booked a room at the Menger back in 2008 because it was the only room I found available near the Riverwalk and the Alamo. I didn't know it was haunted until later, after we checked in. I set the alarm clock for 6:30 and tested it. It goes off blasting at 2:30 which didn't bother me at all. Waking up at dawn did bother me. I realized all the drawers in the furnature was pulled out. Myself or my wife did not pull out those drawers. Kind of funny and creapy at the same time.
thief, your name paints a picture of someone who may make stories up, and then to drink whiskey all night. Your credibility on all three counts make me wonder if you have a few secrets of your own there. comments can tell a lot about folks and yes even me, read between my lines, you scare me
I walked through the lobby of the Menger Hotel one night about 1:30. A child out of the olden times walked up to me and said "Paw Paw touches me down there!" I laughed and went back to my room and drank whiskey until dawn.
I stayed for a week in room 402 I think, it overlooks the alley way to the Mall entrance. i was kept awake by the knocking on the window. After the third night of no sleep I polietly asked the room in general to please stop knocking on the window and i never had another problem after that. I mentioned it to the front desk lady and the manager came out and took my story. I truly love the Menger, there is so much history in the building. I even had a drink with Teddy in the Menger Bar.
i went there a couple times and my sister stayed there but one night she was in a room and filming on her camara and it went static and she herd people talking scary!!!
I worked in property management at the Milam Building on the River Walk (San Antonio down town area) - in some proximity to the hotel - I have a couple of strange stories that happened while I was there - the Tower Life Building also has its' share of interesting ongoings as well.
i went in there today and nothing really happened. i only got to go there for 20 min. yet i want to stay there real badly. the only thing that really scarred me was the sudden temperature change when i stood still on the staircase.
The old part of the Menger, is the host of Mr. King, the African-American maid murdered by her jealous boyfriend/husband, and by the ghost of Geronimo who was imprisoned there on his way to Florida.
stayed there before and nothing out of the ordinary. some of the stairs in the old part of the hotel creak badly when you walk on them. I took about 300 pics and roamed the hotel 3 different time ending around 4am. Quite a few pics with orbs but thats about it.
I have been to the Menger twice, and I can't remember any ghosts, but I know this one lady came up to us thinking my friend and I were ghosts, because we went to a magic shop and got levetating cards, and we were walking down the halls laughing, and one lady went and reported "two ghosts that were levetating playing cards and laughing" i was like wait... i'm not a ghost?
ok i know this sounds crazy but my greatgrandmother corina was shot there in i was told the 40 or 50s my aunt told me about it being haunted but my daughter just found this on utube i live in san antonio ,ive been in the resturaunt there and it is a real spooky eccentric hotel well worth visitin but at 49 it still gives me the creeks sylvia san antonio
I stayed there about 2 weeks ago, never experienced anything out of the norm. I even stayed up till 3 in the morning walking the hallways, lobby, courtyard area, the bar area, in the room, still never experienced anything
