I did American Politics in school (UK), years ago mind, but I remember thinking the same thing. Our system's a two-horse race but even then they're significantly different in office, and much more accountable than the boss man.

What I don't understand is why a seemingly significant number of American's seem to hate 'liberals' (refer to evnsuicideagrees's post). I thought liberty and democracy were cornerstones of American culture - even though American politics appears to involve neither.

You forget that Iraq never attacked us. Bush launched a half-assed attempt to get Bin Laden before attacking Iraq. Bin Laden is still alive somewhere and bush has failed to get him.

Clinton's medicare reform never passed congress. The republicans screwed it up in '03.
