  • Do you enjoy music or just care that you think you are right? Lots of experts here with different answers. Hero cookie to the first person who is right! You all obviously love Gn'R so who cares who's right. Just enjoy the music and stop being dicks! I'm pretty sure the song was written nov 15 1983 at precisely 2:37 a.m., give or take a year or minute or day or second! Who cares!! Just glad I have this version to listen to!

  • The first few minutes reminds me of the Beatles. No knock to GNR

  • There are so many songs written since 80's... but never recorded it.

Maybe, like ferguson6boyd15 said, doesnt fit in that moment, but when this song recorded it in the UYI's albums was, and still are one of the most amazing songs. Even in that precious albums... still are songs that are waiting to be recorder in some album... someday... :)

  • First version of this song I ever heard. Still the best version.

  • so many fucking rare demos of GNR!!! There all amazing!

  • 1 person never had seen a rain in november

  • Nice version. But could use more cowbell

  • Rod Stewart I Dont Want To Talk About It , Can hear it plain as day , cool insperation

  • @TheIbyss The original version of I Dont Want To Talk About It sounds more like an inspiration to me.

  • @TheIbyss Just type in: "crazy horse i don't want to talk about it", choose the one on top and I think you'll agree.

  • Live Era is greatest version with piano intro !! Always great though!

  • Does someone know where is the 18 minute demo of this?

  • very great contribute

  • awsome wish i was around thes i want a time machine

  • Its amazing what 6 years can do to a song...

  • Is there someone who knows a demo of this song when it had 30 minutes? Would love to hear it.. :)

  • @imacfan1 How do you know there is a 30 minute version?

  • @stormtatrai It's 18 mins... I read in Slash's Book...

  • thanks so much for uploading !!

  • this song and don't cry were written in 85 when the whole band was living together with Vikie Hamiliton. When working with Tom Zutaut from Geffen and their manager, Alan Niven, it was discussed that no ballads would be on the first album (AFD); they wanted the first album to be completely raw like they were at that time, living on the streets, and being complete junkies. Axl did get his way with Sweet Child of Mine though.

  • Tears..Only tears... :')

  • @SweetGunsOMine96 I know, but you get to estranged and you feel happy again and it makes it all worth while...

  • I think at the time this song would have been considered morose. Nobody in the mid 80's were doing songs like this

  • @KipJordy1 Hence why they were ahead of their time, But I know what you mean... Well, not really, I'm only 18...

  • I think at the time this song would have been considered morose

  • This song was originaly titled Sweet Lorraine.

  • @pizzabox811 How do you know?

  • if they wrote it in 85, why it wasn't on AFD ? also don't cry ..

  • @3M00RI This song doesnt really fit into what AFD was, it wouldnt have fitted in and would have taken away from the kind of album the eventually did put out.

  • @ferguson6boyd15 In fact, Steven Adler says what a Axl Rose begin write this song in 1983. At least, Adler says this.

  • @ferguson6boyd15 According to Tracii Guns, former LA Guns guitarist and founding member, Rose had been working on the song since at least 1983. In an interview, he said the following about "November Rain": “ When we were doing that EP for L.A. Guns, like '83? He was playing "November Rain" — and it was called "November Rain" you know, on piano. The guitar solo is amazing. Way back then. It was the only thing he knew how to play, but it was his. He'd go, "Someday this song is gonna be really cool

  • @3M00RI NR dates from 1983

  • @3M00RI They said that they already had a ballad on the album (Sweet child) and they would put it on a later album.

  • WOW amazing, thanks for sharing!

  • Best ever

  • I seriously hope the one "dislike" was meant to be "Like", but he just pushed the wrong button.

  • Check out PASSION LANE here on youtube!

  • aghhhhh

axl crying while sang this song

    very sad

  • Who is singing back vocals?

  • I'm love it.. Slash, Axl, Izzy, Duff and Steve <<<< THIS IS GUNS N ROSES

  • this can't be from 1985... this song was written to erin everly after she break up with axl and that happened in the late 80s/early 90s, so...

  • @zebraprodzbackup Axl has been writing this song his whole life, it dates from his teenage years. 1985 is very probable.

  • @zebraprodzbackup Axl worked on november rain since 83' and it was ment to be on AFD, but the band or axl didn't think the song was done, so the waited. and it appears on UYI 1.

    Get your facts correct.

    peace out

  • @zebraprodzbackup - nope bud, Sweet Child was written to her, as several people have said, this song predates Appetite (as does Dont Cry, and You Could Be Mine)

  • Listening to November Rain in November while raining! Awesome but sad!!

  • Nice version!

  • not bad......sounds kinda wierd....but not bad

  • According to Tracii Guns, former Guns N' Roses guitarist and founding member, Axl Rose had been working on the song since at least 1983. In an interview, he said the following about "November Rain":

None of the other band members had wanted to partake in the production of this song (or the other notable ballad "Estranged"). Slash and Duff McKagan were particularly opposed to the drift to symphonic ballads, and felt their choice of more direct rock songs were being overlooked by Rose.

  • Axl Rose had been working on the song since at least 1983.

Slash states in his autobiography that an eighteen minute long version of "November Rain" was recorded at a session with guitarist Manny Charlton (of rock band Nazareth) in 1986, before the recording sessions for Appetite for Destruction began.[6]

Slash has said that the solo he played in the album version of the song (it's unclear which solo) was the same solo he played to the song when he heard it for the first time.

  • "again and again and again and again and again..." Amazing version :)

  • Axl Izzy Slash Duff and Steven

  • No I dont this Slash, Duff, Or Steven at this point.

  • @ferguson6boyd15 This more likely to be Tracii Guns and Izzy.

  • @DrJReefer

You're wrong, this is a song with Slash and Izzi.

Tracii only heard this song a couple of times when Axl was playing it.

  • @DrJReefer
