Good matchups do not equal good fights. Knocking a guy out in round 1 is very exciting, but nothing that you will really remember. A good fight is when they go toe to toe and beat the living hell of each other and prove themselves. I personally liked Forrest Griffin vs Stephen Bonnar much more than this fight.

Sakuraba forcing Royce to throw in the towel, Wandy's knockout of Saku, Cro Cop's headkick to Igor, Chuck's knockouts of Tito..etc. Bonner/Griffin was a great fight but they don't even have to beat the crap out of each other to make it great. Saku/Newton, Saku/White are two of the greatest fights ever and hardly a strike was thrown.

what people have to realize is that UFC is a company, and although they have great champions, not every single UFC champion is the best in the world in his division. There are people who have come out of nowhere and have destroyed champs. Especially now, the sport is growing faster than ever, there are so many young talents that dont' have the connects to get into the UFC. 2 years ago chael sonnen was a nobody, and caine valesquez and gray maynard weren't top contenders.

Now if he was a LHW in the ufc i think he would be untouchable.

@JoeCrazyEyes well imo theres a difference between being breathless, and saving energy after 3min. no offense to brock, he survived hell a lot longer than i thought he would. but it was clear that they both had used up most of their energy at the start of the second round. the takedown by brock was slow, admit it. and his explosive energy clearly wasnt there
id say its a 50/50 vs fedor. because of the werdum fight, people underestimate fedor. but everybody makes mistakes sooner or later
