As Mickey Mouse said on South Park, the Jonas Brothers are successful because they "make girl's ginies tickle, and when girls ginies tickle, I make money!" The same is true for the Beatles. The girls loved them, the guys wanted to be them. Any band or musician that has this going for them is going to be successful regardless of how good or bad their music is.
its funny how that only after 3 years that no one even talks about the jonas brothers anymore. I mean, people always talk about metallica, eminem, dr. dre, tupac, the beetles, bob dylan, pearl jam, and many other bands that have had years between their albums. I still listen to the slim shady lp, the black album, the cronic, vitology, and other cd's that are at least a decade old. the jonas brothers just don't have too many fans like that.

I find it pseudo-ironic that the JBs, in all their talk about virginity and crap, cannot write a song that does not reference a relationship, especially one that makes the boy out to be a victim to an overpowering girl. My dad is a jazz guy and steered me clear of the Beatles in favor of jazz greats, as well as rock greats like Michael McDonald, Steely Dan, and Tower of Power. The fact that girls my age listen to the JBs is just pathetic (I'm 18). Music was ruined after the 90s, nuff said.

yeah i thought so. To play an instrument there is more than just playing the correct notes. There is timing and making sure you play those notes at the right time and the right speed. The MAIN difference between the jonas brothers and the beatles is that the beatles actually wrote and played their own music. The jonas brothers play songs wrote by someone else. Everyone knows that. I love Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and Deep Purple. All of those bands were from my parents teen years and the list goes on, i also enjoy a lot of bands from my teen years, Nirvana, Deftones, Rage Against The Machine, My mom has told me to turn down The Marilyn Manson just like she tells me to turn down the Eagles. In my opinion having kids makes your appreciation for good music wither away untill you eventually think music is irrelevant.

Good point with Nine Inch Nails. It's an older band that tries new things and I think that's why they're still one of the best bands out there. They know how to adapt without selling out.

yeah i thought so. To play an instrument there is more than just playing the correct notes. There is timing and making sure you play those notes at the right time and the right speed. That you hold ur notes for the right amount of time and pay attention to rests. If u did not even know what counting is I really doubt u can play piano. I love Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and Deep Purple. All of those bands were from my parents teen years and the list goes on, i also enjoy a lot of bands from my teen years, Nirvana, Deftones, Rage Against The Machine, My mom has told me to turn down The Marilyn Manson just like she tells me to turn down the Eagles. In my opinion having kids makes your appreciation for good music wither away untill you eventually think music is irrelevant.

I do think it's sad how rock as fallen. I really wish I was born in time to see it actually mean something instead of growing up in the 90's where popular rock faded into a sham. The problem with the Jonas Brothers is that Parents DO LIKE THEM.
They're abstinence only. An abstinence only rock group? WTF!
They're lyrics are not inspiring, nor shocking, nor insightful.
They're "safe" for kids to listen to. That's why parents like them, and that is why they SUCK!
