Both jobs are so demanding, there's no person who can commit fully to both and do a good job. Furthermore, there are contradictions between the one, which requires the amassing of political power and material wealth, and the other, which requires humility and the setting aside of materialism. Politicians can be believers/ Christians, they can't be pastors/ priests.
