I saw Jim Reeves in concert. I think it was 1961, in Albequerque, New Mexico, at the Civic Auditorium. It was a wonderful concert. Jimmy Dickens and Claude Grey also performed that evening. This is wonderful to be able to listen to all these great old songs and watch the videoes. I truly appreciate all of this.
When I was a little girl my daddy translated country songs from English to Norwegian (Im from Norway). Good memories =) Now I understand them all, but it was great to have a dad that took the time to translate all those "stories" we find in Country Music whenever I wondered what the song was about!

Good ol' gentleman Jim. Who wouldn't fall in love with his music if one's daddy had to play those lovely songs early mornings over the weekend (when he didn't have to go to work)? When the songs were heard right from dreamland?
I did fall in love with them then as a kid, and much more from my late teens as a Christian.
I still miss those early mornings, getting off bed to see my dad dreamingly listening to those tunes, and dreaming with him.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss, please accept my sincere condolences. This was my 1st video but I remade it using pictures from family albums and uploaded it for my late daughter's 40th birthday in 2007.
It must still remain a painful experience, but if she died a Christian and you are (and remain) one, there is always hope of a most wonderful reunion in the life after.

My Daddy used to sing me this song; I actually used to feed the puppy milk in baby bottles. We have played the LP record of this song so many times, that it grew tired. Yeah! I always asked too many questions.

God heavens Dave I noticed that thios video was uploaded in Sept 2007, i am amazed at the quality of the video,was it always like that or has the HQ value improved it. I seem to remember the quality in 2007 was pure doodah LOL.
You are right Dave, the quality has vastly improved although the HQ box does not show the yt:quality =high is correct and the right spacing before and after. the only other thing I did was to click on the blue star and from the drop down clicked on the 640 x 505 box below the coloured bars to increse the video screen size.
I am quite pleased at the quality now of my very first video.

This song was "Our Song" and used to sing it together often. It brings with it the happy memories of hours spent listening to Jim Reeves together.One day we will sing this song together one day. Until then I will continue to make my videos and upload in her memory.

I played this and sang with my daughter who died in 1967, she was 7 bless her little heart. she's with God now and I miss her so.

I am greatly honoured that you should stop by my channel.This song was a favourite for my eldest daughter and myself, singing it together often. As a little girl she would sit on my knee, when she was older she would lay her head on my chest, look up into my eyes and sing "but you love me daddy."This she did often, untl she passed away in July 2005, so this song has become very special to me.
I did a remake in Aug 2008 using photos from the family albums.

Speaking as one who knows from many experiences, let me assure you that our departed ones are most definitely still alive in another realm.
If you will become totally aware of your surroundings and pay attention to those little sounds most people ignore you may hear some that are quite familiar.

some parents do not know how to show love . it comes from their own childhood.just make sure you break the circle and if or when you have kids, give them all the love you never had..and then lots more.

I'm not sure if my parents know this song or not, but this would hit them hard as well, because my oldest brother died in 2004.
I do remember they had a Jim Reeves record, with Bimbo and a bunch of other songs we'd all sing to.
It tore our world apart, and things just aren't the same. It was an unexpected death. We miss him terribly.

God heavens Dave I noticed that thios video was uploaded in Sept 2007, i am amazed at the quality of the video,was it always like that or has the HQ value improved it. I seem to remember the quality in 2007 was pure doodah LOL.

You are right Dave, the quality has vastly improved although the HQ box does not show the yt:quality =high is correct and the right spacing before and after. the only other thing I did was to click on the blue star and from the drop down clicked on the 640 x 505 box below the coloured bars to increse the video screen size.
I am quite pleased at the quality now of my very first video.

Dear David, I lost my father when I was 10He was such a nice man and such a wonderful father that all his 14 children have the most lovely memories from him.
