  • Hang in there Scott Walker...you're doing the right thing by helping the private sector---the ones who drive the economy forward.

  • agreed stay the course.

  • Hang in there Scott.

  • I'm taking inspiration from the not-at-work teachers. I work for myself (just me, I am all departments). It's been slow & I haven't paid myself in a long while- so I've decided to angrily protest at my customers instead of going out to look for more work. Oh. wait- That'd be stupid! Maybe I'll unionize myself against myself. No, that's dumb too. Maybe I'll give myself Tenure & tell everyone it adds value to the service I provide them when it doesn't. Nah... Don't know what to do?

  • @ratsnacage1

So, YOU "sift through lies"? First off, using the term "economic slavery" insults all of the captured, exploited& mistreated honorable people that were really and literally used as slaves. Your comparison is horrible. When a person goes to work in Sept, then gets a week off in Oct. two weeks off 4 Christmas then 2more off 4 Easter w/all weekends&Holidays off in between. It comes out 2 180 days. That's half a year. W/full pay, benefits. And the kids CAN'T READ. Got an answer4 that?

  • This is the Johnny Cochran way of doing things. The Democrats are doing what should now be known as Election Nullification. The Democrats are the "Mob Rule" Party. When they win, as in the past two years, they do WIN, but when they lose and lose BIG they still not only want to win, they use the tactics of a Coup. Their so-called "leaders" literally run away to stall the vote, then, their thugs are called in to lie, intimidate, threaten, bully, stone wall&get the media to lie for themFleebaggers

  • He has a $143 million shortage, yet he gave tax breaks of $137 million to corporations. So then he had only a $6 million shortage before the corporate tax cuts. Then the public workers should only be responsible for $6 million according to my arithmetic. Hhhhmmmm....

  • @fergus610

Yup, you are right. Can't agree w/you more. Say, I have a question for you. Being that a few years ago the Democrats rammed through the bill to raise the amount of $ going to schools, for each child, from 5K to 10K without a vote. And so it was done. Now, if the teachers, who "work" 180 days out of the year are totally in charge of the children AND THEY ARE. How come the kids "graduating" from 8th grade CANT READ? Why are they so stupid, dumb, idiots, functional illiterates? Hmmmmnnn

  • I can't believe you would do this. At first in Minnesota you were a good man. You did what was best for us. You were a Republican capable of compromise. As soon as running for president crossed your mind, you started betraying your state. You have left us worse than you found us, and now you would compromise yourself and your country for money and votes. You disgust me.

  • @Chortlingtortoise How did he betray your state? Hmm>? Care to share? Because he feels as many of us do throughout the entire U.S that Unions are nothing more than a bank for the democratic party. We pay taxes, those taxes in turn pay SEIU employees, who in turn pay Union dues to the SEIU. Who, in turn sends most of those due to the DNC! So, even if I am not a member of the SEIU I end up paying my taxes to the DNC with no choice in the matter! Along with all in the U.S that pays taxes!

  • S=Suck E=Everyones I=Income U=Universally!

Everyone should be a SEIU Union member. That way you can play HOOKIE from work and get paid for it!

Dang, am starting to see a consistent pattern here. Obama=fail, Liberals=Fail, now the Obama Unions = fail..

Unions run away from work, Democrats run away from work, Obama runs away from work!

2012 cant get here quick enough!

  • GOD BLESS GOV WALKER and GOV CHRISTIE!!!

Unions are evil! Break them all!

Subcontract every teacher. Pay them for results only.

  • Gov Walker is a HERO!!!

Union leaders are just as evil as the Somali Pirates and should receive the same punishment. HANG EM ALL!

Break the Unions!! Fire all those cry baby teachers and take their pensions and put it toward the debt!!

  • Good idea not disabling comments, there.

  • someone should setup a page to send the absent lawmakers a farmville chicken lol

  • As economist Dean Baker points out, the tax increase "only needs to be temporary, since the state budget should be fine once the economy recovers." Business tax cuts in Wisconsin in recent years have reduced the share of state revenues provided by corporate taxes to almost half the level of 20 years ago. By one measure, from the pro-corporate Council on State Taxation, our business tax burden ranks 12th-lowest in the country.

  • @tangolas You really think the economy is gonna recover that quickly?? Do you not understand monetary policy at all? Based on the continued path of the Federal Reserve this country hasn't seen anything yet. We will have a dollar crash that will affect all aspects of the economy. Its a $137 million gap for the current budget that ends June 30th, 2011. For the Budget of 2011-2013 we have a shortfall of $3.6 billion.

  • Walker's plan is not the only way to fill the $137 million gap; it is a policy choice which, to borrow from Warren Buffett, represents "class warfare . . . but it's the rich class that's making war, and we're winning." Rather than attacking the living standards of middle class teachers, prison guards and health care workers, Wisconsin policy-makers can easily close this budgetary gap - and reduce surging inequality in the state - by temporarily raising taxes on the superwealthy and corporations.

  • Pawlenty, "A former union member himself, Pawlenty has often spoken out about labor issues in the past, and his eagerness to insert himself into the controversy is indicative of his capacity to seize upon a local issue that has quickly morphed into a national ideological debate, while maintaining his blue-collar bona fides."

This guy would be a crossdresser if he thought it would benefit HIM. WAKE UP!!!

  • @tangolas

You obviously don't understand the differences between public and private unions.

  • Pull your head out of your ass and open your eyes

  • Like Lex Luthor says, FOLLOW THE MONEY. Thats where the truthouts. What happens to all that pension moola (the ones they havent already stolen) and health benefits after the smoke clears, you?????Stop defending the very people that would have you crawling on your knees for a crumb of food, because thats what they are working towards, and as long as uninformed team mentality idiots continue to support them, thats what will come to pass. This is class warfare. read about it. Thats what it is.

If you would stop and put down the red vs blue our team is the best hogwash for a minute, you would realize what this is. A power grab. They want those pensions and health bennies for themselves. Who do you really believe is going to benefit from this> You???Don't be so naive, both sides are working for the banks

  • @tangolas Thank you for pointing out business that I should support. Anyone that helps the HERO GOV WALKER deserves out support!!

  • Yeah, hes great. God Bless and and save them (both) when the food runs out and teachers are working for minimum wage while the riots begin. God Bless all of you idiots....your gonna need it

  • God bless Walker and Pawlenty.

  • Superb job Gov. Pawlenty! Please announce already!!!

Gov. Walker, excellent job. The silent majority is behind you; please do not give in to their demands.

The (majority) of the 88% of non-union folks stand with you.

    And I salute you all.

Best Wishes and GOD bless the USA!

  • @ratsnacage1 You mean the right for teachers, firefighters, and policemen to collectively bargain by abandoning their job and striking, thereby taking away the whole populace's rights. That right doesn't exist. They don't have the right to shut down the government. Their rights end where others' begin. Public unions take away the rights of the taxpayers for their own political and economic benefit. That is slavery.

  • @ratsnacage1

What rights are you referring too? lol. Turn off the MTV for 3 minutes man. You have no right to taxpayer money. Go get a skill.

  • stand strong all you Governors, you were hired by the taxpayers not the union bosses. It is more than likely too that almost all of the public union people also did not vote for you, but the people who pay their wages and benifits did. Be honest, be faithful, and stand firm for what is right for every employee in your state both public and private employees.

    Joseph Fawcett - Western Artist

  • Unions - time to go now.Thank you for you service, which is no longer required or desired.

  • @ratsnacage1 There's a big difference between unions that deal with the companies they work for - both have an interest in keeping the firm going. Public unions, by contrast, are paid by the taxpayer - these unions funnel money from dues to politicians they favor (almost always Democrats) and the pols in return give the unions what they want. It's a vicious circle and it needs to be stopped. California, New York, and many other states are being bled dry by these tactics. It's simply wrong.

  • I am thinking that Tim's dad may be rolling over in his grave about now.

  • Tim, your state of Minnesota is just about broke also, but why didn't you collect our revenue from Wisconsin and left $56 million on the table for Gov Dayton to have to collect?

  • We see a clear pattern here from these conservotards.

    FEAR, FEAR, FEAR.

FEAR the muslims, FEAR the "socialists", FEAR Obama, FEAR unions, FEAR everything that isnt far right.

  • I like the scary music. Very dramatic!

Although if you want to create a political ad that convinces people to support stripping away collective bargaining rights, you should at some point mention at least one reason as to why. Other than "these people are scary"

  • these people deserve the same retirement package we the people get,we pay their salaries, healthcare,& retirement. We the people have to deal with Social Security, when the age keeps going up.LEVEL the playing field

  • Is the F- word all you democrats know? Is that how you deal with things you don't understand? Is that all you have in your vocabulary? If you don't know how to talk, no one will listen to you! If someone doesn't agree with you then F them- Wow, what love, what kind of working together is that. No wonder we have wars in the world with people that deal with issues like that.

  • what the fuck is this propaganda bullshit

  • Fuck you, Pawlenty. You parasites take and take and never want to give anything back to the country. "Standing with Wisconsin" means not allowing people's livelihoods to be crushed by union-busting scumbags.

  • How can standing with Walker be considered standing with America or Wisconsin, when both the nation and the state oppose this bill? Standing with the minority, I suppose...

  • Fox news? Really? THIS is the source you're going to use?

    Fucking Fail.

  • These fucking Republi-klan are a fucking disease! First they elect a fucking President who fucked the country up and took a from a surplus to a recession and now they are passing laws that strip you of your rights and dignity and are slapping you in the fucking face.

Fuck a Republican up if you see one!

  • Stand with the Sheep

  • Scott Walker cut taxes for his rich buddies and now he wants the employees of the state of Wisconsin to pay for it. This fact can't be disputed, at least by any rational person.

  • Wow, what a typical right wing propaganda commercial. Who produced this, the same guy that does Glenn Beck's paranoid segments? I will bet Faux News made this.

Overly dramatic, selective editing, ominous music. Let's demonize these people so the more weak minded will side with us.

These are fellow Americans, but the right wing wants to turn them into the enemy. Shame on these handmaidens of the wealthy and corporations.

  • @historygeek2007 I mean, clearly most of the left wing media isnt made up of "selective editing, dramatic, ominous music based" video clips..... oh wait, they are. Dont be a hypocrite champ. Everything these public unions have done so far has been propaganda. Its how they work. This video serves to fire up the base that agrees with Walker, its no different than anything the opposition is doing...well except that you forget any editing is selective. The clips didnt mislead anyone in this video.

  • @TheGameRaven It seems to me, though, it isn't necessary to demonize a group (of Americans) to get your point across - unless, of course, your cause is disingenuous, underhanded and really against the best interests of the people you're trying to inspire. Like the way the right wings true goal is to marginalize the middle and working classes. I think Walkers actions are clear on this point. It ain't about the budget, it's about ideology. So the budget crap is a lie.

  • @TheGameRaven

Did any of the Democrat governors create political ads centered around demonizing the tea party folks as a bunch of scary thugs? I'm not saying they didn't, I'm just genuinely curious

I know Nancy Pelosi once called them astroturfers, and she got hammered for it-but that's the extent of my recollection.

But hey, how long until we get a "Standing with Mubarak" parody? You can put together clips of the same Fox news hosts defending that guy as well.

  • You cannot compare the average wage between public and private sector employees, public sector employees tend to be professionals and teachers, both require advanced degrees/certificates from an accredited University or College. Private sector employees, especially those in labor, usually do not have the same education level as a public sector employee. If you want to insist on wage comparisons, you also have to factor in education level. BTW I'm not a Union member or public employee.

  • No, Wisconsin is broke because of all the tax breaks that Walker is giving to the Koch Brothers. And to fill that hole, Walker wants to toss human rights into the toilet.

Don't believe me? Look it up!

  • Fuck Walker and DOUBLE FUCK the TRAITORS who are betraying their own kind to help this stooge of the Koch Brothers suck the blood out of Wisconsin!

  • So much conservative derp in these comments...

  • @stefhenhaires Could you be any more vague? Explain how these Conservative comments are wrong. A state can't spend money it doesn't have. If the private sector takes a hit from the economy, so should the public sector. I think we all need to quit spending ourselves into the poor house.

  • @EnterTheMindzi Considering that the budget crisis in Wisconsin (and for the US as well) is solved very simply by increasing taxes on those whose livelihoods would not at all be affected by an income tax increase on them (anyone making >$500,000 a year), I have absolutely no sympathy for conservative talk of cutting government budgets and "mutual sacrifice" that only seems to apply to government workers and anyone who isn't an owner of a large company/high ranking member of a large company.

  • @stefhenhaires

That's such small minded BS. People "who would not at all be affected by an income tax increase on them" are already paying the highest taxes. Combined all their taxes together, it can be 50%+ of their income. These people are sending kids to school, owning businesses, saving in banks (which helps banks to create money), supporting family, and donating to charity, all of which is good for the country.

Perhaps if you said $5 million+ your argument wouldn't offend the senses.

  • @stefhenhaires You will lose jobs by taxing the rich. Jobs not only provide tax, but provide an income to someone. Think of the unintended consequences. Public unions drain the economy (private unions certainly have their place), and asking for a minimal sacrifice, something the private sector employees have to do all the time, is not ridiculous. They would still pay less for benefits than employees of the private sector. If they don't sacrifice a little now, they may sacrifice a lot later.

  • @stefhenhaires To herp or to derp, that is the question.

  • Gov. Scott Walker is doing the right thing. The union thugocracy is trying to shut down true democracy. If the progressive liberal COWARDS don't come back to vote, then the Republicans need to vote without them. The Wisconsin people voted the Republicans to be the majority in their state, case CLOSED. Under this bill the union cry-babies have to pay 12.6% of their health care, the private sector already pays avg20%; and 5.8% of their pensions, the private sector avg7.5%. GET BACK TO WORK!

  • Public workers, on average, are compensated less than their private counterparts.

The public workers were willing to take pay cuts, and benefits cuts as long as they could keep their barging rights, Walker said no.

7/10 of the top political contributers in this country, contribute to republican, the three that contribute democrat are unions. This is purely a political issue, and has nothing to do with the Wisconsin state budget.

  • @vidyablog According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, public Wisconsin employees on average get paid $49,000 while private employees get paid $45,000. Besides that, union workers in Wisconsin pay practically NOTHING for their healthcare and pension benefits. We taxpayers are FED UP!

  • I'm For hire,Pay me $100 a day and will hold a sign.$200 a day and I will cuss conservatives without giving a reason to cuss conservatives.$300 a day I will Pretend I Am Tea party and use racial slurs.Or I Could be A Communist and do it all for free.

  • bottom line -why when we are all struggling financially, should a teacher pay $1 toward their retirement and the state pay $47 for each dollar? The teachers are expecting the parents of the kids whom they teach to shell this out - shame on them. Now they are willing to make concessions. How did we get to this? Unions bullying schoolboards with their collective bargaining tactics. I know I ran for school board but lost because the union characterized me as a right wing radical book burner

  • We have had it good for a long time. Its time to make some adjustments

  • We have had it good for a long time. Its time to make some adjustments Man up

  • The money is not There ,we can't raise taxes, what part of that don't the unions understand.

  • The people that made those deals with the unions were leveraging against the future and the future is now. We have to draw down the deficit and taxing our way to prosperity is a joke. It only works when you’re not the one being taxed, and even then has never fixed the problem. The party is over” (Gov. Chris Christie). “Elections have consequences” (President Obama) Every facet of government and even our own lives will have to be scaled back if we are to buy back our country from our creditors.

  • Yeah. If you play that music and cut to different scenes quickly, anything sounds scary.

I hope Walker gets recalled and that the republicans get kicked to the curb as soon as possible

  • @andies1907 does anyone on this page actually research? first, between 1993 and 1996, under Bill Clinton, the U.S. economy grew by 20 million jobs. Second, this guy is bitching about how these WORKING Americans need to sacrifice more to help make up the deficit, then he signs a $117 million tax bill that will benefit the wealthy....isnt that a big F you to people trying to make a decent living teaching YOUR kids.....

  • Comment removed

  • @andies1907 not really,a 6.5% wage growth also occurred under the Clinton Administration...92% of the growth took place in the private sector and a large portion of it was jobs based in construction and manufacturing

  • Comment removed

  • @andies1907 you're right, paying them more won't make them better at their job, obviously, but I'm not saying they should be paid more. What I'm saying is it was s***ty of him to preach about how they should take a pay deduction to help with the deficit, then when they accept it, just turn around and not even apply it to the debt. Also, he is pushing to take their collective bargaining rights as though it has something to do with their pay: It doesn't.

  • The goal is not to rid the state of Unions but better control! If this were true then they would have done so sooner. Protest is free speech but, it should be done so with a purpose. The state is trying to AVOID cutting jobs, they need to actually listen and do their own research rather than the liberal media doing it for them!!!!!!!

  • Stand with Koch!

And don't forget your baseball bats.

  • @sephiroth The only rights that are guaranteed are the ones found in the US Constitution. Funny, didn't see the right to collectively bargain in there. Would you rather have the Right to Work or the Right to Collectively Bargain? Me, I'll take work.

  • @brewercrain Okay, that act was passed through congress and signed by president roosevelt, so by your logic no law that has ever bee passed by congress is legitimate...therefore the defense of marriage act, tax cuts the patriot act and countless others arent real, cause they were all passed through the same way....cool story bro

  • Watch!

  • BUST EM!

  • you people do realize that the unions have conceded to every budget based demand that's been made, right? the ONLY thing they won't give up is collective bargaining rights - their RIGHT to present grievances, discuss the terms and conditions of their employment, overtime, etc...and yes it is a right protected by the National Labor Relations Act of 1935

  • As long as I work hard and do not steal from my company I need "NO" union representation... I want my dues back...Right now my union dues are paying for these senators hotel rooms in IL....... Where are my rights NOT to pay that? Where are my rights not to have my union dues go to support a political party I DO NOT SUPPORT? WHERE THE "F" ARE MY RIGHTS!? THEY SURE AR NOT IN THE BEST INTEREST OF THE UNION!

  • This guy is a fool that came out

  • Harley Davidson Employees took a 7 year pay freeze that their union reps said they should take......THEN the union doubled their union dues....... WTF are they paying for and what representation will they get over the next 7 years??? THIS IS WHY WISCONSIN NEEDS TO BE A RIGHT TO WORK STATE...... PAYING FOR NOTHING!!!!

  • bad move tim.

  • I stand with Walker.

And, Walker can get union negotiating advice from Reagan.

Ronald Reagan to PATCO: report to work within 48 hrs, or your jobs will be terminated.

  • I stand with Governor Walker. It's high time someone stood up for the taxpayer and remind our public servants that they are "public servants", not royalty. We need competitiveness across the board when it comes to our teachers. No competition fosters complacency, henceforth America's lagging in educational achievement on the world stage.

  • This video is awesome! GO SCOTT WALKER

  • Stand with Walker? Stand with Wisconsin. Which One??

  • Koch Whores!

  • Good for Mr Tim Pawlenty. I'll choose him in a second - NOBAMA 4 MORE YEARS and we won't have a country - Unions won't have any money to collect.

  • Hey moonbats you want trumka aka atilla the hun running the country?

  • Here's the deal Tim, and all of the Republicans "standing" with Gov. Walker:

Where's the truth in your ad? Sure, you mention the budget issues, but the union was already willing to concede the higher pension payments and workers taking on a larger percentage of their health care costs.

This isn't at all about the budget. This is about busting the unions.

At least be upfront about what you want. In your next ad, put in big letters: WE HATE THE UNIONS.

it could be the new Southern Strategy!

  • @jazzypaul75 We understand its about busting the unions, and we still agree. Unions are parasites on their members and the tax payers; they need to be banned. people should have to rely on skill, education, and work ethic to get ahead. NOT their affiliation with some fucking "Good enough for gov'ment work!" organization!

  • Politics aside.

I hope he runs just so we can see more epic ads.

  • Walker has shown himself to be a self-righteous and radical ideologue that cares more about the interests of his private sector billionaire supporters from out of state than he does about his own taxpaying constituents. Furthermore, he has shown a complete disrespect for the democratic process, while blaming the middle class, under false pretenses, for an economic crisis that was caused by billionaires in the private sector. DO NOT SUPPORT PAWLENTY IN HIS BID FOR PRESIDENT!

  • Could you put a little more corporate propaganda in there?

If you are for this bill, if you are for this governor you are against democracy. It is plain and simple. "This is what democracy looks like!"

  • @futbol2009 What a bunch of bullshit! You people think there is money everywhere! Barry's stash? You are no different than the enabled illegals and welfare people. How about Soros? You think he cares one iota about you pawns? He is the Madoff of world econonies.

  • @futbol2009 You are a fucktard. By the way, this is a republic, not a democracy.

  • What a crock. It's all about union busting and enriching the Koch Brothers!

  • @lmrs1962

Yes and unions have an inherent conflict of interest in the public arena. Even the long time head of the AFL CIO, George Meany, said so. They use union dollars to elect democratic candidates and democratic candidates approve higher wages for more union support. Its a classic conflict of interest situation. Employees are now making more than the bosses, the American people.

  • @claysolbch

Can't use union dollars (or dues I presume you mean) for political contributions. In my union, I have to designate political contributions separately. And why do people equate tax payer dollars as belonging to the tax payer yet once they have been paid out for the employee for his/her service? By that logic, Halliburton and Blackwater are still holding all of our tax payer money. Once paid, it's the employees money to spend as they designate. If they want to give to unions, well?

  • If you can afford to pay for movie trailer quality attack ads for an issue in another state, you need to stop taking so much money from the Koches.

  • Did you see all that chaotic editing and rough sound and static? Madison must be a real mess right now, from the look of this. How many protesters have been arrested so far?

  • Well reasoned, thoughtful, insightful analysis, all in 60 seconds. And I thought these issues were complex.

  • @sgswanson I thought the same thing about the current summer blockbuster movie myself.

  • @sgswanson uhh, no. Careful spinning of the truth and some pretty high budget production in 60 seconds.

it is simple though. These republican governors DO NOT have their states' best interests at heart. That kinda sucks.

  • stand with the protesters. from libya to cairo to madison.

  • Too bad MN got stuck with Dayton instead of someone like Walker!

    We miss you Tim!

  • You hear Arnie Calrson's recent interview on MPR about the current financial mess in MN? If you didn't, I will paraphrase: Timmy just pushed the budget problem off to the next gov., he could have fixed the budget mess but didn't. You remember Arnie, don't you? Former REPUBLICAN Governor?

  • @DashboardRocks59

I miss Pawlenty like I miss cancer (which is also thankfully gone)! Bye, bye. Shut the door on the way out.
