I see no real way for this situation to be defused, as both sides are intransigent as can be, and both are convinced of their rectitude. If we leave the situation alone, the Palestinians are eventually going to get their hands onsome serious weaponry and use it, or the Jews, left unchecked, will just continue to confiscate land, using every attack as a pretext to do so. this is the potential flashpoint

NATO had justified the actions in Kosovo under Article 4 of its charter, which allows involved parties to consult together whenever political independence or security of any of the parties is threatened

I have been an orthopedist for 15 years now, working in a crisis region where we often have injuries, but neither I nor my colleagues have ever seen such horrific wounds as those caused by NATO cluster bombs. They are wounds that lead to disabilities to a great extent. The limbs are so crushed that the only remaining option is amputation.

@petersz98 sexism in Israel?: well just ask yaron3534 to recall the domestic violence statistics I gave him last week (highest in the "western" world - 200,000 cases reported from 2007 many were hospitalised and15 of them killed, ask him why thousands of female Russian Jews are returning back to their home citing sexist culture and career limitations in Israel, ask him how many women there are in the Knesset compared to the Kuwait and Afghanistan assemblies, France or indeed the U.K parliaments

Let me assure there is no "demographic" problem of too many Jewish or Black or Muslim babies being born in this or that country that is a true democracy accept of course in racist states like Israel! In a true democracy no one worries about too many of the "wrong" kind of people being born only racists worry about that! If you worry about too many Muslims being born and that they make "take over" society that makes you a racist!

Germany once defined itself as an "Aryan" state. Jews, Gypsies and disabled people had no right to live there.
South Africa once defined itself as a "White" state non-White people were allowed to live there but only as second class citizens in segregated areas.
Israel defines itself as a "Jewish" state. Arabs and non-Jews have no right to live there.
