i just bought the SLS 2011 suzuki kizashi and it drives like a dream come true i talked the dealer down to 18,000 because it was used but only had 30,000 mi on it with all of the suped up gadgets that came with this one its new fresh off the lot price would have been 34,000 so i got an amazing deal for an amazing car!
Very happy with mine. I wanted a sports sedan, my wife wanted something that felt refined. It's a very well-rounded car that is smooth on the highway and competitive at autocross. Everything about it from the handling to the way the doors and trunk open and close feels balanced and poised.
Peeves are few - I wish the doors automatically unlocked when I opened them from inside and the front bumper paint is fragile.
damn this car looks good. i always thought it was an oversized entry level sedan...so its an undersized, mid class sedan...xD the exterior is damn good. The rear is very noticable in the crowd. Just wish its performance is as good as it looks.
@columbuscrewfan20 I don't know, whenever I hear it, I just want to say "Gesundheit." Don't get me wrong though, love the car. The name is simply not marketable in the US, too Japanese. I know, I work in market research at one of the top branding companies. It's not a race thing, just a cultural thing, the average US consumer can't relate, which is really a shame b/c this seems to be a very good car.
@DCLT05 They said exactly the same things back when Toyota stepped way out on a limb and decided to name their flagship car (at the time) with a Japanese name - Camry (kanmuri) which means "Crown" in Japanese. Upto now Suzuki's biggest hit was another of their cars with a Japanese name... the SAMURAI and guess what? That extremely Japanese Sounding name was a smash hit! Cultural or not, marketable or not ;o)
ATTENTION!!! DO not buy this car, is pure crap!!! I bought one 8 month ago, and the paint start to peeling off, also the radio burn the subbwufer 2 times, and now they have to replace my entire transmition. this car is beautifull but it comes with alot of problems.
Just test drove a SLS Red AWD with 3Way Memory Seats, Duel Climate, Leather, Sunroof, Navigation, Backup Camera's, Push Button Start, Keyless Entry, Rain Sensitive Wipers, Auto Lights, Ambient Lighting, 425 Watt stero, 29mpg, 180hp, bluetooth, mp3 and wireless, auto gas cap lock, 18" wheels, 5 star crash rating, F1 paddle shifting, No timing belt to change either. I am buying it. Done deal.
I also forgot to mention that you can adjust the drivers seat(power) and mirrors to your liking and then push a button and save your settings. Up to 3 people can set things the way they want them and then push a button to save the settings. If you share the car with 1-2 other people then you only need to get in the car and push either # 1,2 or 3 button on the side of the seat to have the car adjust everything to you. A cool idea i think.
I just purchased a Black Kizashi SE for exactly $20,000. I love the thing! AWD and auto transmition. The SE has a ton of features! No reason to even upgrade after the SE but even the top of the line Kizashi can be had for like $24,000 if you wheel and deal. I looked at the Honda CRV, Kia sportage and Toyota Rav 4 and it was a no brainer for the price! Way cooler and more comfortable than any of the 3 and way cheaper with more features to!
A very European design compared to its rival...Anyway,i am not really a badge snob but the Suzuki name is a no-no for me,you also have to think about resale value! This machine would be worth nothing in three years Never thought I would say this but i would much rather buy a Hyundai :-/
What a car! It was time to Suzuki to offer a car at the level of their talent. Just need to put a performance package something like a V6 and rwd and it's the key to success.
@Ebbsilen They already tried it with a V6 but the car is better with a 4-cylinder because the V6 made the front end too heavy. They are already working on a turbo-4 model and also a turbo-diesel. The car is already available in AWD i don't see a need for RWD considering that.
The Kizashi GTI version with a hot turbo engine is sure next ... just like what they 've always done with generations of the iconic Swfit GTI. Wait up!
@WIGTRON5000 The car isn't 29k. Kizashi starts at 19k, and a loaded GTS version comes in around 23k. You can even get the AWD version for around 22k. In addition to that, Suzuki is running all kinds of incentives right now like $1000 cash back, free gasoline for summer, ZERO % financing. The 29k they mentioned in this video is ONLY if you get the most expensive version and then load up on top of that every possible option. 99% of buyers wouldn't even do that.
This car is DAMN awesome. Seeing all those annoying Youtube ads finally pushed me to see a review of this car and it is GREAT. Looks like a mini Lexus IS-F!
"The Kizashi is easily the most athletic car in its class, and even a few rungs up. How do we know? We tested the Kizashi on the Virginia International Raceway against competitors like the Mazda6, Nissan Altima, and Subaru Legacy, and even some cars a few classes up like the Volkswagen Passat CC, Acura TSX and Audi A4. Suzuki engineers worked closely with KYB to desing a suspension unique to the Kizashi, and they simply nailed it". -- Leftlane News --
It's a nice car, it sure doesn't look like your typical Suzuki at all however it does look like like the jetta in the front and kind of like the civic coupe in the back if I am not mistaken!!
all you need the dealer for is to buy the car or if you have a major malfunction or a recall. but in general I agree with you. I have two within 80 miles of me.
Exactly! I would by this car just because I dont want to be like every1 else. I checked Accord, Camry, ans even Sonata but the Cam and Acc dont appeal to me in exterior or interior decor. Plus they dont have my favorite scheme combo of dark blue ext. and black leather interior. Now low and behold, SUZUKI has those features and the car doesnt look like a vessel(accord) or a metalic manatee(camry) In closing, the caris just plane cool looking. USUALLY ur frst impressions are tru and mine is WINNER

It looks exactly like a VW like he said. It looks like an Eos, which is a good thing. All these lower brands like Hyundai, Kia, and Subaru are making very nice cars looking and engines, but there quality and crash rates suck! Anyways nice car.
You can't just say that all american cars suck. The Fusion won car of the year and keeps on winning comparison tests, the fiesta that is coming will be great, same with the focus, the new edge, new mustang with it's great engines, the taurus is a great deal for the features you can get that would be found on luxury vehicles, and all the new lincolns are reviewed very well.

Not a bad looking car, and seems well built but does not look or even seem worthy of a $20,000-$29,000 price tag.
Suzuki as a brand is not at that level yet.
Comparing the Sonata, accord, camry, mazda 6 sonata vs this, wow, I don't think so, they all kick it's ass and then some. I would never even have a thought of even going to a Suzuki dealership to view this vs any of the other's, get your head straight suzuki.
This will be and probably already is a sales slump, no one will buy it.

The trunk lid hangs on protruding metal bars instead of gas-filled struts. This is too cheap for a car that wants to be upscale.
