  • Too much Prince.Too much present with his own sound. Don,t hate it but I like Kate,s version more.

  • just discovered this song and I love it. Kate bush is the best!

  • OMG, I forgot about this one...!!! Simply beautiful and funky - Kate meets Prince? WOW, she never seizes to amaze me with her tremendous ability to change it up and THAT she does! Of all the people in the world...I LOVE YOU KATE!!! And I thank you everyday for the magic you've created.. it touches my life ~ Endless Thanks!

  • this reminds me of my own music.....

  • Absolutely superb. Kate and Prince aside, you really can't beat Lenny for vocals..."the fine purple...the purest gold...the red of the sacred heart...". Nice one Lenny!

  • this version is better then the demo. This Version today in 2011 has a nostalgia feeling to it.

  • love the lyrics and Kate's voice just works well here. naturally being from Minnesota USA, prince is just the essence of cool.

  • Am a Prince fan, but the demo is much better. Prince should have left it alone - or just sang a duet with Kate. Now that would have been cool. sorry Prince .-(

  • I like both this version and the demo :)

  • fantastic...

  • Of all the people to work together I would never have imagined that Kate Bush and Prince would, until I heard this. You can really hear the 2 contributions, and yet it works so well.

  • The demo version is much better. Hate the clunkiness of the production on this track. It sounds dated ad a result.

  • I love Mike Scott's version of this as well .

Actually ... this is the first time I've heard this .

    Kate's such a sexy one , that voice !

  • Lenny actually talks about this in his new stage show "Cradle To Rave" Kate heard Lenny sing during Comic Relief & asked him to do backing vocals on the track. As soon as he heard about Prince's involvement in the project, he jumped at the chance.

  • As a Prince fan (he didn't write this, Kate did!), his production, sound and Lenny's vocals made this a memorable collaboration. Top tune! Still great in 2011!

  • Awesome song, and I think all of 'Red Shoes is totally underrated. It's as wonderful as all her others. And Lenny Henry does a nice job with the backing vocals.

  • class...

  • This is a terrific song, but IMO it was infinitely superior as a demo before Prince got his hands on it.

  • YUMYUMYAAH ama Roger&Kate

  • lenny henry is a back vocal on this as far as I know.

  • As per comments by spagnogulan below. Lenny Henry did not write the song, but from what I hear was good friends with Kate Bush and was looking to extend his career beyond comedy to singing soul. Personally I think he did a really good job, and quite honestly I would have liked to have heard more, however, according to wikipedia Lenny thought it didn't do him justice and stuck to comedy. Of course Prince had a huge influence in this song. A pure belter in my opinion. S

  • mexico ama a kate bush!

  • Lenny did some of the backing vocals and has a solo at 2:45. One of my faves too.
