  • The tea partiers were primarily independents and disillusioned democrats that liked Ron Paul's message primarily on smaller government in all aspects (drugs, illegal wars, attack on civil liberties). It got co-opted by the crazy wing of the GOP (Palin, Bachmann) and now stands for teaching Creationism, calling Obama a Marxist, and giving tax breaks to the rich. If the people who support this movement don't see it, they are misinformed at best, they are being played for suckers.

  • Just another unbiased reporter for Fox "news."

  • Dems are people of very low IQ and very large ego

  • now see, you have no proof to back that up, in fact stereotypically, republicans are retarded rednecks.

  • lol your people are wearing guns to protests. who is the one with the low IQ

  • Informed and Articulate???? Where? Who? Oh yeah this is Fox News, if you agree with them you are Informed and Articulate. HaHaHa crazy people

  • McDonalds is hiring....But noooooooooo....I'm enjoying an unrealistic lifestyle.....

  • Proved my point exactly. Thanks!

  • Copy and paste the following into Yahoo and click on the first search result :

    daily show beck operation

  • Eh, maybe I've seen different videos but most of the people I've seen getting up and yelling were people in their 40's and 50's. And it's nearly impossible to say if the seniors or anyone there typically votes one way or another by just them standing up and yelling.

I'm not quite sure what you say by lie to the people. What exactly are they lying about? I'm not trying to refute your comment just curious as to which part may or may not be false.

  • So , all you people against socialism think that unemployment compensation laws, child labor laws, overtime laws, safety regulation laws and other laws that benefited many americans are bad ideas? If we had the media such as Fox News and talk radio back in the 1930s, they would have these dumb town hallers convinced that such socialist laws would ruin the country.

  • They have... These practices and policies have created a society that is now dependant upon the government for its daily needs. If Unemployment Compensation wasnt here, people would look harder for jobs, If child labor laws, overtime, and safety regulation laws werent here, people would have chosent NOT to work in those conditions or chosen NOT to buy from the business. Its called capitalism. Or at lease it was. Now it is a government owned and operated economy.. ?? "1984" ??

  • What an ignorant comment. WHO THE HELL ARE YOU to tell me that I don't look hard enough or my father or anyone else for a job when they have been laid off in the past. Many jobs, are in manufactoring and healthcare where these laws apply. These laws were needed because of coorperate greed and therefore we need a government to be our watchdog if you knew anything about history. Capitalism left alone results in slave like working conditions for the general masses.

  • Cmurf78, I wonder how many Republicans would run on a platform to eliminate child labor laws, unemployment compensation, overtime laws, and worker's safety laws? The anwser is zero because if they would the general population would run them out of town on a rail. Not even the propaganda of conservative talk radio and Fox News could save the Republicans if they would run on this platform.

  • kelly is crazy

  • I love when these loonies say that the government is "in their way".

"Just get the government out of my life! Out of my way!"

Out of your way for what?!?

  • Maybe the government should take a break for a week.

And watch society crumble and make these idiots beg for the government to come back.

  • these right wingers are overwhelmed with

    e v e r y t h i n g!

all they do is complaining and telling me how they cannot cope with this or that, blaming

anyone randomnly for fascism and may it be even Anne Frank. they won`t recognize a fascist if he whispered in their ear, stuff, that fascists have on their agenda.

-if you read an article, you are a conservate, libertarian, constitutionalist, but if you red the whole damn paper you are a libtard!? revealing.

  • Megyn Kelly once deep throated 30 cocks in a row.

  • I don't get it. What's all the shouting about? Can anyone explain it? Can Specter even understand what someone yelling in his face is saying?

  • My favorite articulate, thoughtful question:

Protestor: "Have you read the kooran?"

Spector: "You mean the Quran? Noooo."

    Protestor: "..."

  • "Informed, Articulate" ? was she watching the same video?

  • she was trying to sheeple the masses of idiots so i give her that much credit. think of it as a kindergarten lesson -- look at the nice man that doesn't look like a crazy person. he is calm and speaking at normal sound levels. we really don't want you to be intollerant crazypants nutjobs because we are losing sponsors thanks to glenn beck trying to make you intollerant crazypants nutjobs. i am surprised they got a whole minute of tape with nobody yelling.

  • "This is American democracy at work"

Ummm...don't you mean 'corporate demagoguery at work'?

  • Fox News: Foul and Biased, as ever.

  • I want to know who has read the Koran!

    :lol

  • ME....and the bible too......You need to read it so when one of the religious nutcases knock at your door you can use their own book as weapon against them

  • maybe if they showed up at a town halls on a regular basis rather than just trying to inciting riots they'd see this how most of them go.

  • Poor crazy right wingers....

  • Republicans are ruining our country.....just like the last 8 yrs

  • ...Articulate? Informed?

I'm a Franklin University student who's working towards a Bachelor's. This was the most painful "townhall" I have ever seen. Speaking of which, the doctor says it may be a week before I get it back.

  • this is Fuxed up

  • Its important to expose the blatant propaganda that fox tries to spread.

good job TMPTV. keep up the good work!

  • Oh dear lord... Megyn Kelly is a joke.

  • at least she's hot.

  • Fox News is pretty awesome on mute. Then again so is cnn, Heidi Collins is SUCH A MILF!

  • who has called them "unamerican"?

  • Apparently nobody called the town hall disruptors un-American. I believe Pelosi put out a press release calling the stifling of dissent un-American, the right-wing propogandists twisted that 180 degrees, and the ignorant sheep bought it. Everyone knows it's only un-American to protest against Republicans. Protesting against Democrats is every citizen's Patriotic Duty.

  • The dems didn't disrupt town hall meetings. They stood outside with a bunch of signs like fregin morons.

The republicans though, ARE, disrupting these meetings. Almost all of these meetings allow time for questions and statements. This politician was doing just that. PEOPLE (that means everyone) need to remember what the learned from 1st grade. WAIT YOUR TURN TO SPEAK.

  • How ignorant of u to assume u know the political parties of the people who speak out....

  • don't worry once all the people who are against government health care die off because they can't afford health care it'll be easier to pass the legislation

  • HAHAHHAHAHA, thumbs up!

  • They spoke like 5 minutes about health care...

  • "These people are SO articulate and informed we won't even play the audio for you".....LMFAO!

  • none of this is gonna change anything. people will vent, n the pols will vote, n a health care bill will be passed.

  • Did they watch the same town hall I did?

  • Remember Fox's coverage of Code Pink? When they weren't making fun of them, they'd ask why tasers weren't used.

Of course, there's a big difference. Code Pink's dissent was based on actual facts. These lunatics are off in birther-land, fuming about stuff that's not part of any of the insurance reform bills.

  • FOX News is unbalanced, you all are just too stupid to see it. For those of us on the "inside", we got the GOP e-mail marching orders telling us what to do and how to react in the town hall meetings.

  • oh yea brother, tell it like it is! amen! I identify.

  • Faux News' television personalities are prone to hyperbole (0:07 "an extraordinary showing...") which pats themselves on the back for so graciously giving you the "news" & effectively hypes whatever the GOP wants them to push. But I watched most of this broadcast & most questioners here were fairly "informed," citing the actual number designations of various bill language. This was in direct contrast to some of the outrageous & ignorant "death panel" comments heard at earlier town hall events.

  • She's an idiot who just follows her script.

    Lots of "fodder" for sure.

  • Fox news is bias...and a joke

  • Complete lawlessness? Have you ever read a book?

  • Ya there are only about 30 million of them. Good luck.

  • These people are not informed, they're just partison. Their concerns are 1000% partison, and if the President was a republican, they would be more receptive to his message, and everybody knows it.

  • Megyn Kelly is a vile, manipulative, catering to the lowest common right wing denominator bitch!

GOPher gatherings = meetings of the troglodytes

  • Nah this is not american democracy and yes they are very angry individuals. This is not really a debate more or less citizens who opened their email boxes to read a list of things that Obama is 'seeking' to get done on his hidden agenda. Even though there's no real fact, just the whole 'Obama is a socialist while Bush was a G-d.'

  • No examples of "informed, articulate" people speaking. That's strange...

  • Ah, choice cuntitude from my favourite American blond newscunt, Megyn Kelly.

  • "An hour, non-stop" of informed, articulate discourse... of which we're seeing, and not hearing ('cause she's talking over it)... sixty seconds.

Search around YouTube... not exclusively to this channel, and you'll find some near-violence from shouters and disrupters.

Fixed News... they filter out the truth.

  • Where were these ppl when the Bush administration was wasting money on a senseless/baseless/orderless/costly war?

And most importantly, why do Repuglyans feel that it's ok to scare ppl into not wanting a government who is for the people and by the people? We must not be blinded by their scare tactics. Let us follow our leader and give his administration a fuckin chance to fix what has been broken!!!

  • "This is American democracy at work"

This is American Wingnutery at work.

  • Yeah.. in addition, even if we grant for sake fo argument that the European colonialization of the US is similar to modern illegal immigration (it isn't), then we are granting that illegal immigration is not a good thing. Two wrongs don't make a right.

  • People are scared of change. Always. Progressives are ready for change, conservatives are slower to want it. We voted by saying things need to change. That's why Obama is president, and Democrats are in control of Congress. Let's get what we voted for.

  • Change is not inherently a good thing. Newness is no virtue; oldness is no vice. Change just means different, it doesn't mean better necesarilly. And in the case of ObamaCare, or the progressive movement in general, change means change for the worse. At least we agree that it's a change.

  • when something is broken, it's broken. republicans won't support healthcare reform because they don't want obama to appear to succeed, forget that reform would be good for all americans. your sloganeering aside, why in the world would you want to keep the status quo (broken)? progressives are trying to change things for the better and all republicans can do is block the way. real change isn't even happening yet, the past 6 mos. have been spent merely staying afloat--so what's your real beef?

  • "when something is broken, it's broken." - yes.. and if you step on a broken watch that isn't going to fix it. Just because SOMETHING is being done does not mean that it's SOMETHING in the direction of fixing that which is broken.

"your sloganeering aside, why in the world would you want to keep the status quo (broken)? "

Because the status quo is superior to the proposed reforms. Smart, needed reforms >>> status quo >> obamacare

  • What specifically about the current health reforms don't you like?

Mandated coverage? Keeping private insurance companies from discriminating based on pre-existing conditions? Regulation of co-payments?

  • Correct. I don't like all the things you listed, and more. And what I WOULD like to see in it, what really needs to be fixed with the current system, (i.e. tort reform) isn't.

  • Tort reform was enacted in Ca beginning in the late 1970's, capping attorney's fees and total settlements, while making it harder to file suit. Ca's health care costs, however, are indistinguishable from the rest of the country's (as are Colorado's, which also enacted the reforms). Do you have examples of countries/states where tort reform actually succeeded in reducing costs?

Because the left definitely has examples of government health insurance lowering costs and increasing coverage...

  • like medicare & medicaid are successful examples of government management to the extent that this whole health care bill is nothing but an attempt to bail that system out by placing everyone on medicare and taxing everyone for the same inferior plan administered by the inferior management skills of the federal government that hasn't managed anything right for years. they screw up every thing they touch and now you want them to manage life & death issues for everyone. Now that's stupid. tj

  • you're right. i prefer the insurance companies making my life and death decisions for me. once i get sick and they drop my coverage--problem solved! isn't that great? who needs the pesky government to ration healthcare when we've already got blue shield/blue cross to do it for them! if you ever made any sense, tjtoomany5s, i must've missed it.

  • According to surveys by the Kaiser Family Foundation, 34% of seniors view medicare favorably and 43% view it very favorably. Ambivalence towards medicare comes from young people - those not on it. The same report showed people 65+ prefer by a 63-19 ratio Medicare OVER a private plan. The same report also finds those who dislike Medicare are more apt to like it when their points are rebutted.

Costs are a problem, but by no means unsolvable.

    Educate yourself. You've been propagandized.

  • Not all tort reform is smart or effective. But it can be those things, and if it is, it will absolutely cut costs. I don't know about CO, but CA needs tort reform as lawsuits are currently out of control and driving up costs, even if it underwent it at some point 30+ years ago.

  • oh. i'm sorry, i thought you had something intelligent to say.

  • You mean something intelligent such as "du hur, if something is bad and you change it in some way, that means you made it better!"? Well at least i NEVER thought you had anything intlligent to say.. and you don't. In fact you have stupid things to say that I show to FACTUALLY be stupid, yet you can refute nothing I've said. Winning is nice. How is losing going?

  • we own the white house, the congress, and the senate. i guess losing feels pretty damn good :) if you aren't going to be part of the solution, mr. "i'm so smart, i just wish i could show you", then sit down and shut the fuck up.

  • The solution to someone wanting to burn down your house is to stop them from burning it. Similarly obstructing ObamaCare is the solution to stopping the detrimental plan. Your whole premise is a fallacy; that change = solution, that different = good, that new=better. All false. New can be worse, change can be bad and different can be harmful. Fail less.

  • Your whole premise is a fallacy>>Theillegit

it isn't my premise, it's yours. i have an idea, why don't you stand at the bathroom mirror and just argue with yourself.

  • "it isn't my premise, it's yours. " - uh, no. it's yours. You on numerous occasions stated that change is inherently good, that if a system is bad then any change to it must be good, etc. Which is factually false. I pointed out your false statements. You got owned.

  • show me where i said anything of the sort, and when you can't show me, go fuck yourself. "owned" lol. what are you, 13 years old? go back to playing air guitar, you moron.

  • "real change isn't even happening yet, the past 6 mos. have been spent merely staying afloat--so what's your real beef? " - the attempt at destruction. Granted it hasn't taken place yet, so if it doesn't happen, well then that's great.

  • if destruction doesn't take place i'll let everyone know you had nothing to do with it ;)

  • Uh no, the Iroquois Confederacy had a code of laws, not to mention other groups.

To say all Native Americans were "lawless" is pretty racist and ignorant.

  • your argument is also invalid because as a matter of law if the currently illegal aliens are given amnesty then they are no longer, by definition illegal.

And laws according to whom? What, because the native americans didn't have a formal concept of law, government or even in some cases any concept of ownership well that's just too damned bad? That's about as arrogant as it gets. Might as well argue that since the Africans couldn't defend themselves they deserved to be enslaved.

  • I guess the native indians would say the same about your forefathers.

  • Do you see how, most of them are old, bald white men? Who in all cases have medicare, contesting this? These people are so transparent it is unbelievable. All they are missing are their pointing hats.

  • Brilliant observation. It's mostly old people concerned with health care reform. Really? I thought teens and 20-somethings were very concerned with their health insurace. But you're telling me it's old people, eh? Fascinating discovery.

  • Well I guess you missed the sarcasm in the comment a little over your head, well I'll put it explicitly. These assholes, yeah assholes are mad and will fight tooth and nail to anything Obama does because they didn't vote for him. They didn't want a black man in, with a Muslim name. SO YES THEY ARE RACIST!! I got your sarcasm, be it as it may very weak, and not witty at all.

  • Uh, yeah, not over my head at all. As indicated by my response. But since we're making things explixit: one would expect the vast majority of people at these town hall meetings to A) be old (because old people have a lot more riding on issues regarding health) and B) white (because the majority of the population is white + blacks vote dem like 90/10 so they're probably cool with ObamaCare by and large). Thus the fact that they are old+white does not support the conclusion that it's about race

  • Uhh huh? Are you kidding me? These people are there to protest anything that Obama has put forth b/c they never voted for him b/c his was black w/ a muslim sounding name. These old people have nothing to lose with their medicare.

  • In my country, the mainstream media is just as terribly biased.

One thing that gets my goat is how so many rubbish tactics used here are taken right out of Fox's playbook.

The aim is to misinform and control people whom they think are too stupid to be responsible of themselves.

The only solace i have is seeing that the folks here who follow them blindly are steadily being replaced with a more informed crowd as time goes by.

Time, at least, seems to be one cure we can depend on.

  • Funny they didn't show the crazy guy who was kicked out. Selective editing.

  • Or the lady screaming about them taking away her toilet paper.

  • Fox News -- American Democracy at Work! Ha ha ha.

  • Stunning!

  • Informed and articulate???

    Give me a break!

  • When you're as retarded as Fox News, a 2 year old is articulate and informed. It's simply a matter of perspective.

"When you look up from down in the gutter, everyone looks high and mighty" - Lau A. Pedersen.

  • Well put

  • goddamn it fox news

    why?

  • These people are absolutely evil. Just as Hitler orchestrated propaganda events, the Republicans are doing the same! Ass****s

  • i agree they are bad, but its not useful to compare them to hitler, that just makes us on the left look unreasonable as well.

  • did the republicans instill a holocaust? because if they did they totally are HItler, otherwise, that comment is in totally poor taste. Very few, if any, people are even close to the evil of Hitler and these lude and crude comparisons that people make, on both the left and the right, are just awful and shrewd.

  • Please note that the reference was NOT to the holocaust. It was to the long understood truth that Hitler and his men were masters of disinformation. Please use your brain when you read comments and do not impute a motive that is not there. Did you not read: "Just as Hitler orchestrated propaganda events, the Republicans are doing the same!" You don't seem like simpletons, either of you. I guess emotions can cloud perception. In fact, that's what the Republicans are counting on.

  • Oh wow, Philin. Compare them to Hitler. That's creative.

  • Obviously you didn't read the comment. Perhaps I should have compared them to Goebbels, Hitler's Minister of Propaganda? By them I mean the Republican orgs behind the misinformation and lobbiests that have fomented the faulty thinking of Death Panels and such crap. I guess It would have been wiser to compare them to the ministry rather than the prime minister Adolf. You people are myopic.

  • What specifically was misinformation?

Also, what do you mean by "you people"?

  • "you people" being the responders to my comments. Misinformation, "Death Panels" and the lie that there will be a clone of the Canadian system.

  • I was complaining about the constant use of Hitler as an "apt" comparison to any demagague. As for your previous comments, yes Goebbels would've been better, but still unappropriate. No matter what you intended you have to understand that they are connotations that go along with Hitler's name, the holocaust being one of them. And honestly, if you have to use comparisons to make a point, you have failed as a writer. So learn new vocabularly to make your point more articulate and accurate.

  • I referred to one aspect of the Hitler situation specifically. If you can't see beyond that you are the one fixated on the whole of Hitler's crimes. You cannot differentiate between what is being said and your own view. Sorry you are fixated on the holocaust. You'll recall that it is the right that is distributing pictures of Obama AS Hitler.. In the end we've both been heard. As Sarah P says, "thank you soldiers in Iraq for killing people so we can be free and speak freely." You are a patriot.

  • Just because you referred to one aspect of Hitler's carrer doesn't mean that people won't think about other parts of his carrer.

  • Just think of it in this way: when people say that this is facism and Obama is Hitler because he is leading it, you can say well he is obviously making the comparison to Hitler being the head of the facist state, and Obama being the head of a "facist" state. But the anger you get comes from the fact that they are comparing Obama, our president, to Hitler, the man who was the leader behind the holocaust, not the head of the facist state.

  • You have to understand that this whole Hitler/fascist thing started when McCain made up ads about how Obama has such a great speaking skill especially when he went to Berlin, Germany to deliver that speech.

If Obama was truly a fascist, you and I will not be having this conversation right now because we would probably slaving in one of those so-called "FEMA camps".

  • i was bringing up a hypothetical. The reason why i used Obama is because in this thread of replies the republicans were called Hitler, so to use someone that people would support in this thread and call him Hitler would get the honest reaction that i was trying point out this entire time is occuring when someone uses Hitler's name as a comparison regardless of what part of Hitler's life you are trying to compare to.

  • I do not pretend to control people's thinking.

  • Are you referring back to your original comment?

  • The Republican's had their shot. They took it, they squandered trillions and lined their pockets. We inherited massive debt and a financial collapse. Face it. Call Obama what you will, history will tell otherwise. I can't remember any other US president being booed at an inauguration as was Bush. Now there's a fascist who even joked about how good a dictatorship would be if he were the head of it. I'm referring to common sense. (Please note I did not call him Hitler.) You may drive thru.

  • see how much more impressive that was?

  • In fact, yoiu could say that they are following the tactics of Hitler's regime in spreading false information in order to achieve their agenda. (Sorry, still like it for brevity.) Impressive, eh?.

  • what you gonna do?

  • Fox is a vile enterprise being managed by lying thugs

  • Fox News has successfully brainwashed enough of America again so that the corporations get their way.

Way to go idiots! God bless Fox News!
