@Videoplast I disagree. Where did you get that information from? dyspareunia and volvodynia are more likely to occur FROM GETTING a labiaplasty, not before one. Hygiene and grooming don't make any sense either (explain maybe?). Anxiety doesn't occur without self-consciousness problems (which is the issue, not the labia).
Irritation/discomfort is the one reasonable reason to get one (aside from an infection which is obvious), and even that could often be mitigated by wearing different clothes

@MsHojat I get that information from having performed hundreds of these operations. While it is normal to have incisional tenderness (as it is after any surgical procedure) intially, the vast majority of patients (over 90%) express long term satisfaction with the procedure and LESS discomfort. Women who use to have multiple yeast infections each year have reported fewer if any after the procedure. It is normal to have daily vaginal discharge and without redundant folds, the hygiene is simpler.

I have found that most patients do this for their own personal reasons and NOT at the request of another.

Religious edicts, at least in civilized countries, are NOT valid as a means of enforcing physical harm to another individual.
Consent becomes imperative when permanent alterations are done to a person. To remove parts of the body as a child is to ALSO deprive them of those parts as an adult.
