this setup is currently in my 82 rally car. I should go over some of the things that "came up" while i was doing it and considerations to overcome. Nothing is too outlandish and there are more than one way to accomplish the goal.
I used the FC steering column, which since the subframe is farther forward, means the steering wheel too was farther forward. You can either use a steering spacer, an NRG type hub or in my case a steering quicker at the other end.
that is correct. As for my transmission, i have to verify if the stock one will work. i plan on running a T5 behind it in time, but will use the M type mazda transmission in the mean time
I wish you had used a Steel plate with washers on top, I think they will give you stronger mounting points, Did you clean the zinc plating off the washers before welding them?
@junpower010 yea i grinded off the coating. as for the plate, since the forces would be translated mostly in shear, i figure the washer would be fine. If it proves an issues, ill redo it later. Only rally will tell.

The FC subframe is not flat across the front and rear mounts, you should have used a .6 inch spacer between the frame and the rear subframe mount

With the FC crossmember are you still able to use the stock transmission mount/crossmember?

@TJcars2 Also, you use the FC engine mounts in their stock location right?
