Have to agree with others here: I've rarely felt/seen such a perfect video/music combination as this and I've seen a *lot* of music videos since I was a teen in the 80s. I feel like a teen again just watching this video & falling in love with the song over & over. The way it builds to that beautiful intensity and just funny things like Leithausers "haiiiow" yell at 1:17. The lyrics are understated and thus work as good poetry, but this only came to my attention *because* of the great vid.
I genuinely wish this song went on for 10 minutes. I'm always disappointed when it finishes... but then again i always manage to find the replay button :)
heard it live (opened for a fleet foxes concert!!) and instantly fell in love with the song.... then i saw the mv.... im soo sad and depressed right now u.u.....
i am a new media major about to do a senior project, working with after effects/maya. would like to figure out who made this video. it is well done. there is much to speak of the cinematography. that's what really makes the video. people who have never dealt w animating have no idea how much work goes into every last detail. love this band - seen them live many-a-time. love animation. if you love this, might like this one too:
Absolutely brilliant song and video combination. The video beautifully and bitterly captures the imagery of the lyrics. I rank this one right up there with Radiohead's "There There". The Walkmen are a great band. Great music. Great lyrics. Great moods & visions. "The Blue Route" and "I Lost You" have no equal in weight. They don't get enough airplay and they should be head lining concert venues instead of playing 2nd fiddle to lesser bands like Fleet Foxes.
This has been my favorite song since I first heard it. I never thought a video could do it justice, but clearly I was wrong. Great fucking video for an amazing song.
I really like the song. Not so keen on the low budget CGI video though - the idea is fine, but the execution is lacking. It almost looks as though it's rushed, as though the artists couldn't quite finish the modelling and lighting in time. It doesn't matter though, the song is still good.
@TwoTube2 well maybe people don't like the fact that i said the video didn't make as much an impression on me as the song itself .. i reaaally don't care :/
. i sure like your trip hop remixes though :)) *subscribe * :P
@Ivenaface I for once agree with you, the video is obviously really good, but the poinst is that no video could ever be good enough for this song! If that is your point, than it couldn't be more on spot!! And that's the thing about these guys' music, it makes any video clip fall short, as big as it is!! It's even more than earth warming, it's brutal, brutally honest, out of this world piercing, and so human!!! Couldn't love it anymore than I do. Concert in Lisbon was breathtaking btw, tks guys!
this video is just too perfect that I'm sorry for the rabbit that dies: S apart from that this clip is pretty good it took me a while to find that clip now that I finally found it LOL I will not come unglued
@zarella I remember when I was in college 10 years ago critics were raving about Jonathan Fireater and when Walkmen formed it was sort of hailed as a great thing. They have gotten WAY better since then. and they are generally beloved. I guess they could use more fans, and they'll probably get them eventually.
In my opinion, the only way someone could have disliked this song and video is because it tells so much truth that it hurt.

Can anyone tell me whether the band officially released this or whether a fan made it? Thanks. Either way it's great; just wondering.
