I think you should stick to just dark wash jeans, so much more sophisticated than the light wash pair you had on. And the button up tied at the hips/waist look wasn't that flattering on your straight up and down figure. Maybe if the shirt was tighter/more tailored to your own shape and then tied at the actual waist it would've looked nicer.
