The kaoss pad is in his guitar if you watch the video for his guitar since they released it. someone has the controls for the setting all matt does is run is finger where ever he wants on it. Matt's MB-1 guitar is $4,795 by pedals all you really need is a distortion pedal and a delay pedal. I can mimic most of matt's effects from my toggle switch and two pedals its simple when you know what to listen for

@Jumpfacekillah its a KAOSS Padd , ;) its a device which uses MIDI and basicaly jsut plays around with any sound input , u cna make a power chord sound like a assault rifle if u wanted to haha , jsut google KAOSS pad and check out what u wanna know ;)

@Jumpfacekillah It's called XY-Pad, which controls MIDI effects and devices. the X-Y Pad is also on Kaoss Pad, which is a one of MIDI devices. there're various MIDI devices like keyboard and stuff.. Even Whammy Pedal can be controlled with that XY Pad. Matt primarily uses the XY Pad for controlling MIDI effects from KAOSS pad, which is externally connected, meaning the KAOSS Pad is not actually installed in the guitar. hope that helped.

@Jumpfacekillah I personally think it's not really useful. Don't get me wrong it still is a fancy thing on the guitar, but I just think it doesn't worth money. Matt uses the XY pad just for a few solos like Supermassive or some riffs in between songs. If you're beginner I'd recommend you to save money and buy better guitar, amp, or effects instead of buying all those fancy stuff.

@Jumpfacekillah i'm not a salesman or anything i'm a 14 year old boy but if you havent already spent tonnes of money on kit i recommend the vox valvetronix vt20+ its excellent for starting out and it has an effect modelling interface with 33 different amp sounds, a pre amp gain treble middle bass and master and it has built in tuner, you can get a really desirable muse sound out of it given its price, its what i started out on and its a good amp for begginers like yourself, hope that helped :)

ive got a '71 4001 rickenbacker stereo bass... sounds pretty decent if youve got a good preamp, but what most people dont know is that it is very unbalanced, if you play it standing up, the headstock will fall down if youre not careful as the body is much lighter than the neck.
